Everything we had was wonderful barring the coffee (which was weak and sour). The dishes were gorgeously prepared, our host and server was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the cuisine, and admirably patient with our group of 8 very inquisitive foodies. The setting is lovely. It was a bit cold in early January, but the blankets helped. Highly recommend. We opted for the 3 courses, one bottle of a very nice red, Julio 14 (I think), one dessert split between us, and coffee/tea. With a generous tip it came to about $50 each. Highly recommend Malva!
We had received a recommendation to try this place from a local winemaker and didn’t know what to expect. We did the big tasting experience and were pleasantly surprised by not only the quality of the food but also the terrific pacing and friendliness of the service! A new favorite in Valle!
Absolutely amazing food and great service, this is a meal you won't forget. We had a lot of great meals in Valle de Guadalupe but this one really stood out, you must go there.
This is one of the best restaurant in Mexico wine country. I tried every dish on the menu and there is no average All dishes are outstanding. If you want to have family dinner or romantic date this is place to go.
Lovely restaurant in a rustic setting. The food was very good, as was the house wine (we opted for 2015 Cab/Merlot blend and it was excellent). The service was friendly and professional, we really enjoyed our meal.
Gracias Roberto!
Food quality left lots of room from improvement. Our party of 4 ordered the 6 course meal, 2 different plates arrived with a fly. No apologies were offered as if they expected us to eat a plate with a fly. Would not return nor recommend. Disappointed as I had high expectations from this restaurant.
We had a delightful dinner, our first, at Malva. The food was fresh and had great flavor, and originality. The staff was very kind and attentive, even the chef came to speak to us. We enjoyed some wine with our meal, which was outstanding as well. We loved the fish, and the ribs were also divine! All the vegetables were so fresh. We will come back next year when we visit Mexico.
(one small note: the steps up to the restaurant are very solid, but have no railing, and turn a corner at the bottom. One of our party missed the last step and fell, cutting and bruising his face and arms. The staff was very attentive with first aid! and offers of help. He is fine now, thankfully! Malva might consider adding a railing, or perhaps some extra lighting at the base of the steps).
It was good, you can each ask for a 3 plate course and share!!
Fantastic food, views, service. Great all around. Not an inexpensive meal but absolutely worth it. Thanks Malva Team! :)
Malva gets great reviews but just was not special the night we went. They were put if things, execution of dishes was lackluster, descriptions on menu did not match the food delivered, etc. With so many choices, they need to step it up.
I had been once before and it blew us away. This time was even better! From the perfect play list of calm cool tunes to the views of the orchards and grape vines. The food was as beautiful as it was delicious and the service was impeccable! The dishes were So thought out and so clean with no shortage of flavor. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Malva! Can’t wait to go back!
This lovely place stole my heart. The chef os there working hard, food is DELICIOUS, amazing views of the valley and not pretencious or crazy expensive at all. Totally recommend.
Everything about Malva was lovely. Wonderful service, friendly staff, good vibe, exceptional food and culinary artistry. One of the better restaurants I've been to in a while, with a quite charming setting.
Malva es la neta... The shirt says it all. We came in for Lunch on our second day in town and had to revisit for dinner on the 3rd night. We went with the 3 course option each visit as the portions were very generous. We chose different items each time and essentially worked through the entire menu. From the service to the presentation to all of the flavors the meal was just about perfect. The wind chilled the restaurant down a bit in the evening but that's something that you just cant control. I wouldn't say they need more protection because a lot of the beauty and charm is that you are so exposed and basically outdoors. Bring something to cover up with in case they run out of blankets. I will be back, over and over again. I suggest showing up with an empty stomach!
Had their 9 coarse chefs choice option. Very innovative and good. There was a tuna tostada that was a bit o we cooked but the rest was perfect. The duck confit and presses lamb were exceptional.
Hidden gem! Very tasty food served in perfect portions by an amazing staff! It felt like a private dining experience. Definitely recommend.
We absolutely loved Malva. Probably my favorite meal ever!!
Excellent service. Came with my boyfriend and another couple for my birthday. The food was brought out in a timely manner, the dishes were very unique and the flavors were outstanding. Nice ambiance, very much a "tree house" style outdoor seating, feeling at one with nature.
Outstanding attention from all of the staff, including the chef. Food was innovative and absolutely delicious!
This place and the staff are awesome. It was just the two of us for a late lunch on Wednesday and we were made to feel very welcome and special. We love how the menu is designed to pick and choose as well as the pairings option. The Minas Penelope wines - in particular the Montepulcianos are our favorite in the Valle and we purchased 6 bottles. The service in the restaurant was impeccable and the food delicious. The environment is enchanting and we relished the quiet. We dined here last year and could not wait to do so again this year. Thank you for another memorable visit. We tell all our friends to experience the joy of Malva.
Amazing, delicious and very special ambiance. Definitely a highlight of cuisine!
This is our second visit, and we were highly satisfied. The food was inventive, delicious, and fresh. The service was excellent!
I eat out often and I live in Los Angeles so I go to some of the best restaurants around and Malva absolutely blew me away. From the food to service to atmosphere they really executed everything perfectly. Javier who was one of the chefs came out to help translate since our Spanish was rusty and he really made the experience for us. We're very passionate about food and he shared our enthusiasm and helped recommend dishes and a wonderful wine. Every time I return to this area I will always have dinner here. Thank you so much Malva for a phenomenal experience.
The ambiance was great. The service was excellent. The food was just above average but nothing to be impressed about . Overall, is a good option.
Nestled in a treehouse like setting, Malva is a magical experience for those seeking creative cuisine and fine wines. Chef Roberto and his kitchen staff prepare seasonal dishes that match beautifully with their estate wines. Service was very efficient and accommodating. This is a unique treasure in the Valle de Guadalupe.
Malva is magical! We loved our time here and can’t wait to come back!
This place overall was fantastic! The food was incredibly tasty and felt high quality but casual and comforting at the same time. My only problem was that it was a little too much food for me. I got the 3 course meal and each dish was quite large (however, I am a 110 lb. female so I don’t have a huge stomach to begin with). The service was fantastic - our waiter took the time to explain the plates and wines to us. The ambiance and view are great. It does get chilly in the evenings, but the restaurant provides you with blankets if you get cold. Overall, I felt secluded, comfortable, and treated like royalty. Love this place!
If you find yourself in the delicious Valle de Guadalupe, this is the place to eat! The setting is nestled in what feels like a treehouse, rustic and cozy with lovely views of vineyards below. Chef Roberto and his team offer local and seasonal dishes paired beautifully with Malva wines, by owner and winemaker Veronica. Fresh baked bread with pesto, oysters, roasted cauliflower, duck confit, rib eye steak, along with rose, Sauvignon blanc, Cabernet, Malbec and merlot. Food and wine heaven!
Todo excelente, siempre una deliciosa experiencia!
Nunca descepciona.
