Main Wave Restaurant

We had a delightful mean and were very satisfied with everything. We would have a couple of tiny suggestions. The cob loaf served as an entree was much too big. Half the size would have been quite enough for two people. The pasta dish was delicious. Plenty of Moreton Bay Bug meat. But we commented to the table server that it did not need nearly so much anchovy. Certainly not both anchovy and capers. We would reduce the anchovies because the main point of the dish is the bugs. And on a personal level, I would never serve spaghetti. It is a peculiar invention of the Italians. I always cut mine up into small pieces that can be eaten with a fork. A smaller size of pasta would be excellent. But overall a great dish. And the wine was great. Strongly recommended despite these niggles.

Truly delicious food. We chose the specials, which looked more interesting than the menu items. The ambience looked nicer outside. We sat inside under quite a chilly aircon outlet. Would definitely go back and strongly recommend it.

So disappointed. We had booked for 11:15am and arrived on time. "Sit anywhere"..." That table in the window please"..."Oh no, we have someone coming in." Ok so we chose another. Menus came out after 10 mins. "Oh by the way, you'll have to order immediately, and from the breakfast menu, because the kitchen closes so we can set up for lunch." Taken aback, we thought we might order lunch. No, you can't do that til 12. Ohhhkay, we ordered breakfast. It came, the food was good, but just before 12 they came back. "So sorry but we have to move you, we have a big group coming in here now." Really???? Gobsmacked, we moved, taking tea & coffee orders with. We will never, ever go back. Oh, and as we left, that table in the window was still vacant. Perhaps they were warned. Wish we had been.

Delightful outdoor table on a very pleasant summer evening. Fantastic service, very helpful with meal choices and wine service. Definitely recommend this for both intimate dinner or a larger group

We went to 'Chill' out with friends on a Sunday to celebrate a birthday and discovered a new way to enjoy Main Beach at Wave.. Great service and tasty food along with good company what more is needed?

Absolutely awesome restaurant, best service, great food

Welcoming of our 4yp who has best spag bol ever! When he was fed and happily settled in his pram we thoroughly enjoyed our bottle of presence, culinary delights for entree like lambs brains and the most tender squid ever! Followed up by trout and seafood pasta for main and affagatto to end the night- could have states for hours - the best meal we had on our Gold Coast trip!

Literally metres from our apartment this was a brilliant evening dining outside. Amy our host was super attentive, made us feel really welcome and that nothing was a big deal. The kids even got coloured pencils to draw all over the table which got rolled up and we could take it home. Superb night out.

We arrived early for our reservation. Staff were extremely accommodating. We were seated and presented with the menu. We discussed our specific dietary needs, again we received amazing service. We had a great meal stretching over two hours, food was terrific. And again service was excellent.
Wonderful time over a leisurely lunch.

Excellent food and service. Main Wave has a great atmosphere and is the perfect place to have a relaxing and enjoyable meal with friends. Would be fantastic for a special Birthday or celebration. It's also set in a really nice area where you can watch the world go by as you enjoy the day.

We always enjoy going to Main Wave. The menu is great - the presentation is spot on and the flavours are sensational. The wine list is well thought out to complement the food (so nothing disappointing there) cocktail list is great for special celebrations and the staff are well trained in human contact with their clients - upbeat and extremely professional.
All round a great breakfast, lunch or dinner to be had with your partner or with friends or business associates. "see you ladies again soon"

Went here for mothers day breakfast. It wasn't too busy which was nice. There was a slight mix up with our order but that was quickly fixed by the friendly staff.
I had the healthy breakfast and it was really tasty. Only small issue I had was the avocado was a little hard so it wasn't as creamy and tasty as it should have been.
Overall though very nice food and fantastic service.

Good food and good location but slow service. Asked for wine menu and never got it. Took forever to pay. Just no attention from waitress in general.

Great spot. Open for all 3 meals each day. Lovely interior seating with linen tablecloths, or great outside seating. Menu has good variety, and waitstaff was excellent. Highly recommend.

Good menu and appreciated the gluten free options. I queried the potato croquettes in terms of being gluten free and the chef came out and said there was a bit of flour in them. My partner had just about finished his meal before I finally got mine.
Staff were helpful and attentive.

The menu had something for everyone. Each person noted the quality of their dishes. Would recommend this resto and will return when next in the area. The service was exceptional.

We had a lovely dinner. Amy and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was amazing - all of it. I especially loved the scallops. A lovely intimate restaurant. We'll be back.

A little gem in Main Beach not too big and not too small with lovely decor and ambience service was excellent and friendly and knowledgeable and food was great will go again

Tried this restaurant for the first time after seeing good reviews. The menu was varied with lots of new things to try. I had the zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta and blue cheese, I got three large zucchini flowers which was probably a bit too much for an entree, they were well cooked and the blue cheese stuffing was very tasty. My partner had the brains and said they were lacking some flavour.
Duck was my main course and was wonderful so tender and juicy. My partner had the seafood chowder which he said was lovely but could have been a bit larger
