Great service, imaginative presentation and most importantly flavorful food. We will be back.
The experience felt a little odd. The host was a little bit cold and aloof. We were slightly early for our reservation, and we were told to wait at the bar until our table was ready. We didn’t get picked up by the host from the bar until 25 minutes after our reservation (35 minutes after we arrived).
The service was also not great. Our waiter was odd, and his interactions with our table felt unpolished and uncomfortable. We ended up receiving another tables food not once but twice throughout the meal (we got their main dishes and someone else’s desserts, all before receiving our appetizers).
The food itself is really only okay. We were there for restaurant week, which is supposed to be a deal, but $45 per person for an appetizer, entree, and dessert is hardly enticing, especially for the quality of food.
For appetizers, we had the shrimp with polenta and the grilled calamari. Both were fine, but honestly underwhelming and unexciting. The shrimp was bland and the calamari felt like it needed something “more” too…herbs, acid, or something, but it was just a bed of greens and some lightly grilled and dressed calamari. Not bad, but not worth the price.
For mains, we had the lobster ravioli and the bucatini carbonara. The waiter mentioned the carbonara is made with cream, which I don’t know if it’s true, but it’s certainly far from traditional if it was. Again, the bucatini was fine, but the guanciale needed to be rendered down more and edited - it felt like I was eating mostly pork fat instead of a balanced carbonara. The lobster ravioli was also just alright, but not exactly memorable and only comes with 3 ravioli.
For dessert, the creme bruleee had actually scrambled. I think the dish was too shallow and torching the sugar had actually cooked the egg yolks. Either that or it hadn’t cooled and set completely, but it made for an off putting texture.
In general, this restaurant isn’t horrible, but for the price, the service and the food aren’t worth it.
This was our second dinner at Limoncello. Our first visit we had awesome food and a server that was not so great at first but turned it around before we left. Our second visit the server was awesome the food was okay. The appetizers were just warm not hot as they should have been. The restaurant week menu had one of my favorite dishes the Carbonara. The flavor was good but no visible egg which I thought would be on top. My husbands dish was very salty. We will give them another try in the future but not soon.
Overpriced and under-delivered. The lobster ravioli was great but nothin else we tried was even average. The carbonara had scrambled eggs in it... Our waiter was awesome and the decor was cool, but the food was way too pricey for extremely average, "authentic" Italian.
Service was good , timely
Food was good. We cleaned our plates
Menu was fantastic, execution was very good, but nothing outstanding.
Food was excellent. Restaurant Week menu was varied and delicious.
Excellent meal. They had several restaurant week options to suit most any tastes. Loved the lobster ravioli!
Limoncello never disappoints, the food and cocktails are superb, and it is a great atmosphere.
Excellent experience every time I have dined at Limoncello!
We went during restaurant week, the food was good, the service was the best that I’ve had in months. Great ambiance and evening.
Such great service and so personable!
Good food, ambiance and prices. Drinks are delicious
Our server was personable and informative. I appreciated his recommendation for the red wine sour, which was refreshing and delicious. The grilled prawn in sauce over polenta for Restaurant Week was the best part of the meal and I hope it becomes a regular part of the menu. Would have liked a scooch more time between courses, but otherwise all was great!
I was so excited by the hype, and sadly the food was really lackluster. We had the bruschetta and trio app which weren’t anything special, and then the saltimbocca and orecchiette, neither of which tasted good and were oily. Honestly it was the worst meal we’ve had this summer. We kept saying we had a better meal at the Italian/Mediterranean restaurant an all inclusive Mexican resort last week. When we shared that we did not like our meal with a friend, they also shared they don’t like Limoncello either. I’m sad because I really wanted to like it.
This is my first time at Limoncello and the ambiance and mood subtly screamed to me that I was in for an interesting experience. I visited during restaurant week so I had the pleasure of trying a few different dishes. The first, Carpaccio Di Manzo, whose flavor carries as much, or possibly more, color than the dish on the plate. Needless to say, I ate every bite. For the second course, I ordered the Carbonara, which was much better than anything I’ve ever made myself. The guiancale was a huge upgrade to the maple bacon I use in my kitchen. Once again, I ate every single calorie on that plate. (And a full plate of bread and oil)
Finally, I had the pleasure of indulging on their Tiramusu as I finished my bourbon cocktail (quite strong and quite good). The lady fingers were spongy and rich leaving no part of my taste buds untouched while the mascarpone flowed through my mouth with the grace of a seasoned swordsman.
Delicious food, great cocktails ( limencello focused and not!). The service was great. Very classy, a little pricy but worth it.
The staff at Limoncello was very friendly and our service was incredible. The food was delicious, but my boyfriend ordered the carbonara (on the restaurant week menu) and the egg was scrambled a little bit. All of my dishes were cooked perfectly and very good! Limoncello is great for a date location or a celebratory dinner.
I heard the food was delicious
Timely service !
Be back soon!
The food was very good, abundant, and nicely presented. We did find the wine options limited and expensive, However, that seems to be true throughout the city now. Server very pleasant and helpful. Restaurant week was a good opportunity to try this restaurant.
Overall, I very much enjoyed my lunch.
My only complaint is that my chair was very uncomfortable. I asked the waiter for another chair which he cheerfully provided.
The chicken, swordfish and Veal were very good, as were the calamari and capprese. Service was slow, apparently the result of two few servers.
The negative is the strange decor. The dining room is mostly black, including walls and ceiling. The result is an oddly dark ambiance, particularly for the summer near the harbor in a modern apartment building. It feels confining.
First time here. Went to check it out because of restaurant week. Great service, excellent food. Will definitely be back.
Went for restaurant week. Fantastic drinks and excellent service! Food was good, especially enjoyed the creme brûlée & swordfish with squid ink linguine.
Restaurant Week had good deal
Food is delightful. The eggplant dish is my favorite. Unfortunately, the waiter is rushing us out of the door making it a regrettable visit.
Loved everything!!!! It was my birthday, Limoncello made it a great one
The owner/manager was engaging and the food was good as we knew it would be - we’d been there before. But wow - the waitress was awful and yet so overly confident. She couldn’t be bothered to listen to the wine we wanted advice on (so the manager took over to help), she forgot to place our first course so we just didn’t get it, the dessert was partly frozen and I had to even ask for water to be refilled. Why would you let someone in such a nice restaurant be on the front line with your guests?
I put in the reservation notes that it was my dads birthday but it was not acknowledged. Most of our food was delicious! Besides my dads veal which didn’t come as it said on the menu, missing tomatoes and the sauce. We felt kind of rushed out as our waiter put the check on the table without asking if we were finished and then took the signed check before we even left the table. As a server in the past, I was not impressed... Other than the lack of friendly service this time, I LOVE their food! Compliments to the chef :)!!
A bit pretentious; food was OK, wine was overpriced; seating was very congested - almost uncomfortable.
Excellent food, best Italian place in Baltimore for sure
This was our second visit and the food was as outstanding as we had remembered it being. The staffs friendly and helpful, parking is easy.
Loved! Beautiful restaurant. Yummy menu. Great service. Will be back for sure!
Everything was absolutely delicious!
amazing food and amazing service!! I cant wait to come back!
The table was ready on time, ambiance is great. However, the service was not up to par. We noticed ours was only table that wasn't offered bread. We figured it might be because it was only offered with certain entrees but we called and confirmed that was not true. Same thing in terms of parmesan cheese. The pasta and gnocchi itself were excellent but service was poor.
The overall experience was good! Our server was very kind and tentative. Unfortunately, the food we ordered had to be sent back twice specifically the rib eye. It was not cooked correctly at all. Then we ordered calamari and it too did not live up to expectations. It was over cooked and not seasoned at all. The other dishes the table ordered were very delicious and very fulfilling. Not sure I would return for anything but the appetizers and drinks.
Wonderful dinner. Only problem was excessively loud table next to ours. Restaurant personnel moved us quickly upon our request, and the balance of the dinner was excellent.
It’s was beautiful. Thanks
One of the servers started getting our plates and drinks even though we were not done yet and she said the table is reserved for the next people….that was really rude
