Lake Avenue Restaurant & Bar in Duluth, Minnesota has been around since 1991, back when Canal Park was better known as an industrial harbor rather than a tourist location. The interior at Lake Avenue Restaurant & Bar has a cozy feel to it, thanks in large part to the reclaimed lumber used for the tables, booths and bar as well as thriving plants. When the weather is nice, you can dine on our deck, furnished with Loll patio furniture made locally.
We are a small restaurant, limited to 15 tables and 70 seats indoors. Because of this we are not able to accommodate groups larger than 8 people. If your party is larger than 8 people, please understand that your group may be split at separate tables, potentially not near each other. Please call us to discuss accommodating your large group events.
Due to the invariability of Duluth weather, our deck is non-reservable (with or without dogs) and subject to be closed without much notice. We seat the patio on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We had the Denver Steak with collard greens. It was one of the best meals we have had out in a long time. We frequently go to MPLS and this was comparable to some of the best restaurants in the North Loop. The wine suggested to pair it with was perfect. Thank you to our waiter Peter for his suggestion.

Great food, friendly staff, but food service was a little slow. They were very accommodating with regard to gluten free/dairy free allergies. Once the food was up, staff continued to be attentive and very pleasant. Great night!

The food was great as usual, but overall it was a disappointing experience. Our drinks took a very long time to arrive and our appetizer order was never entered by the server so we never received it and once the mistake was realized (after our main meal was delivered) we did not want to have to wait more time to get the appetizer after eating the main meal.

We always enjoy visiting this great restaurant when in Duluth for the annual Bayfront Blues Festival! Menu is creative and accommodating for food intolerances. Wine choices are always interesting and service never disappoints. We will definitely return here.

It was ok. Not what I expected based on the reviews. Food was pricey for what you got. Tourist prices. Limited menu.

Nice intimate atmosphere. Excellent food presentation and wonderful flavors. Okay selection of wines (could be much more extensive in breadth and depth). Would definitely recommend this restaurant for those in the Canal Park area of Duluth if looking for a casual intimate atmosphere with gourmet style food.

Dinner was ok. Drinks were good. 38.00 for (2) Lamb Chops that were pretty lacking of meat. I know they are overpriced but was disappointed w just 2. Otherwise everyone else enjoyed themselves but small portions, big prices.
