I really enjoyed the food and I loved the decor. I totally recommend this place.
To celebrate my 27th birthday, I decided to dine at La Vie for dinner because I had never gone there before and because of the spectacular views of the Potomac. The ambience, the decor, the customer service, the view, and most importantly, the food/drinks, all exceeded my expectations! For dinner, I went with the Atlantic Salmon, a side of Brussel sprouts, and a glass of Prosecco... one word, amazing! The food was cooked to perfection and the Prosecco was chilled to my liking. In celebration of my birthday, my server and the managers sung "Happy Birthday," gave me a complimentary glass of Prosecco, a chocolate cake, a chocolate bar, and a birthday card -- all unexpected but it helped to make my birthday the perfect day that it was! I will definitely be returning to La Vie, especially during the Spring/Summer months to soak in the sun and enjoy the views of the Potomac from La Vie's rooftop patio area!
It is a very nice restautrant with great food. The view on the warf is incredible! I just wish there was some pleasant music on a Tuesday night and not so much noise. The seafood we ordered was delicious.
Birthday, not as beautiful as I thought. Very expensive!! Service is perfect. Have a nice view!! Food was good but small for the price!! We were 2 and we spent $139 ( without the tips). I had a drink, but my sister only got water!! I ordered a steak frites.
We celebrate three birthdays. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. The views are amazing!
Amazing ambience and great service. Food was a bit spicy but delicious and presentation was very impressive as was the manager and the service. Very attentive, professional, courteous staff. They provided an excellent customer experience!
Excellent menu & service made for a wonderful evening!
Came here with family. Good kids menu. Beautiful views. Beef tartar was too seasoned and you couldn’t tell it was beef. Snow crab risotto was good, but crab was lost in the seafood flavor (seafood in the rice). Mussels w French style were very good. Overall very nice but not excellent for foodies.
Can’t wait to go back, excellent food and service!
I chose La Vie for dinner on my Birthday. The evening was AMAZING! The service, ambience, food and the view were exceptional. I will be back. And I'll be sure to tell everyone I know about La Vie😉
Really great time and ambience. Our family had amazing service and by the way the food was excellent!
Food and service was great. Ambiance was spectacular. Will definitely be going back
Delicious food. Beautiful presentation. Fantastic view. Nice energy and comfortable vibe. And our server, Andres, was terrific.
First the positives: it is a lovely space with a great view (if you are by a window). The service was excellent and the mixed cocktails were very good. Our appetizer of Frito misto was very good and while the arancini were good, I've never seen such small ones. One of us a the $27 hamburger which was only average; the French fries served with two of our dishes were too salty as were the grilled scallops. The steak frites was OK (given the salty fries) but the duck confit was a great mistake. While the duck leg (a very small duck leg) was crispy it, too was too salty. The melange of noodles and a strange assortment of vegetables did nothing to enhance the duck and wasn't, in itself, very good. It is highly unlikely we will return.
Went to La Vie for the first time and it was a very nice experience. Food, view and service ( thank you Juan Carlos) were great.
Had a wonderful experience at La Vie. Was in town for the weekend and wanted a great place for brunch and La Vie was highly recommended. Located on the water, the space is bright, open and beautiful. We had an early brunch so it wasn't crowded and our waiter Juan Carlos was super friendly and attentive. The buffet was fantastic and had a nice variety of sweet and savory dishes so come hungry so you can taste a little of everything. Brunch is $44 without drinks, which is on the pricier side so if you don't plan on eating much, then the value isn't there. The bottomless bellini's were great and packed a punch. Don't leave without taking a cute selfie for the gram in the ladies room. Looking forward to my next visit
We really enjoyed our time. Our table had a great view of the Wharf. Had the scallops and they were delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a special desert with a sparkler. Great place for a date would come again.
A wonderful experience. Great view, delicious view, friendly and helpful service from both our server Mitch and the manager. A lovely place!
Wow, loved this place! The setting is spectacular and the service exceptional. We felt welcome the moment we stepped out of the elevator and met the charming Maitre d'. Our server, Leo, was personable, efficient and friendly. And dinner was delicious and elegantly served. I particularly enjoyed the Brussel spouts and Passion-ade dessert. It was a memorable night and I will return.
Tried it before an author signing at Politics and Prose. Three people. For one, the completely wrong entree was brought and both others had finished meals before the replacement came. Absolutely no offer of even comping the single entree. We explained how frustrating it was — particularly as the server told us not to order the incorrect entree but to get something else. They were less than gracious. Prices too high for type and quality of food as there is nothing unusual. Same dishes as many other restaurants in DC.
Brunch food was not that great. And the brunch food is not worth the price. Other than that, nice atmosphere. Good service
Good food and service
The food was very flavorful. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon & Sauteed mushrooms. It was delicious. Maybe a bit salty (salmon), but very delicious. The drinks were delicious too. the Rose Sangria was a large glass of deliciousness. The ambiance is beautiful. The hostess was very accommodating and friendly. They took good care of me for my birthday. My guests were very satisfied. I will be going again and again. For Happy Hour and Dinner.
I celebrated my 30th birthday on Saturday 2/22. The food, service and ambiance were amazing.
The food was very good. The location sits where you have a harbor view. We had fireworks on my night so it made for a lovely night.
Beautiful classy restaurant. My daughter was so impressed! It was as DC mardi gras. We lucked out on this one last minute. I hope to come back again on a date
Our server, Peter, was great! The food and drinks were amazing... the banana gallete dessert requires a 20-minute wait, but it was totally worth it. Can't wait to check it out for brunch!
Still our favorite place in the wharf. My kids finished their meal.
I am a regular, every time I go I have a great experience. The food was excellent, the service is wonderful and view has to be the best in DC.
I have always loved this place and I took my mom for her birthday dinner and she absolutely loved it. The service was outstanding and they did everything to make it memorable for her.
Dinner was excellent, service was great, atmosphere and scenic view were an added bonus. Highly recommend making La Vie a stop while you are leisurely strolling along the Wharf waterfront.
Late Valentine’s Day dinner for wife and daughter
This was our first visit to La Vie and it was a wonderful dining experience. It's a terrific location with views of the waterfront, in fact we were treated to a gorgeous pink sunset when we arrived. La Vie has a spacious, open, modern vibe; the food was excellent, oysters were fresh and the gnocchi was outstanding. We will return.
Shout out to la vie and their amazing service ! First time in here and def not the last ! Also big shout out to jose castillo for such great knowledge , my friend from florida also was really really happy with the expierience , the manager check on us a couple of times but again the server made all the experience!
Go to this restaurant if you can as the ambiance, service and food are top notch!
Bergin, the GM and his team treated us like royalty!
The food, table, service, drinks and ambiance were top quality.
Bergin couldn’t have been more helpful, thoughtful and made excellent suggestions.
We really had a great experience and we will be back and will recommend La Vie to all our friends they travel to DC.
Food quality is not worth the
