Always love eating there. Great place to be with friends and family
Brilliant! Loved the food and appreciated the attentive service.
Everything was great. La Piquette is always a winning choice.
This is our favorite place to go in DC. The food is always amazing and the staff make dining at La Piquette a wonderful experience every time.
The steak was underdone (rare, when asked for medium rare) when I sent it back, it came back just as bad. Very long wait for food. I used to be a big fan, highly recommended it to my friends, but I will probably not be back for awhile. The patio was lovely.
Food and service was excellent. Too many great options to choose from. Read reviews before coming and there should be a wait if you walk up as the food and service is great. We have tried to get a reservation for weeks from 6pm - 8pm but we were unlucky, but saw a opening while shopping at Giant and pounced. PLEASE make a reservation.
We went to La Piquette for lunch on Saturday. I particularly enjoyed the Gazpacho as appetizer, as well as the sweetbreads as a main dish (nice and tasty sauce. The glass of house wine (red) is also pleasant and affordable.
I love this restaurant...and it is very very noisy
Great! The branzino was superb as was the apple tart that we had for dessert. The bread is always served hot and is delicious.
Lunch was very busy and servers had a hard time keeping up.
A wonderful authentic French restaurant. More like a busy bistro because of the noise level is high, but not enough to keep me from going there over and over. The food is well prepared and presented. The wine selection excellent. Service is efficient and pleasant.
This is our favorite French restaurant and our "go-to" place for celebrations, out with friends, or just looking for good food. We've been a fan of the chef's food since he cooked in Potomac, and we followed him to DC. The best duck confit, skate wing and rabbit in the city, plus canneles. How can you miss?
Couldn't have been better. Fine service. Spectacular food. All to make a 57th wedding anniversary perfect. We are so lucky to live in the neighborhood.
We've been to La Piquette a number of times and had another wonderful meal here. The service is always attentive, the food is very good, and it is a lovely neighborhood spot.
as always , a great evening, fab food , great service , great wine list , always fun having dinner here
Food was unexpectedly excellent. Seating is a bit cramped however.
The ris de veau was the best I ever had. It was even better than at La Cupole in Paris. The white wine de table was excellent. Good atmosphere for dining with an old friend.
Great, reliable bistro cooking. No-one does better by soft shell crabs. Escargots a terrific dish.
Like being at a neighborhood gem in Paris !
Best restaurant in DC. They always treat me like a VIP!
We really enjoyed our meal and appreciated the great service.
Birthday dinner. Sat outside. Service was good and the outside was lovely.
Really nice atmosphere and some of the best and most creative French food this side of the Atlantic! No wonder it’s so hard to get a table!!!
100% reliable, 100% delicious, and a pretty darn authentic French bistro set down in a corner of DC. When full - and every seat was taken at our last visit - it is crowded and noisy, but to me that adds to the ambiance. Earlier I was here with four women friends and we worked the fish selections (sole, sea bass, monkfish and cod) each was perfectly cooked (grilled, sauteed, or pan fried) and presented. If you are a fan of foie gras or escargots, you'll be very happy here....but if you'r dining buddy is strictly "steak frites" they can have a good time too.
Amazing food and location but as it was many years ago they really need to try something about noise-proofing the place, still too loud during peak dinner rush.
Another busy night at La Piquette! It took a little while for us to be seated but it's always well worth the wait and it's always nice to see Francis and his restaurant doing well. The food is amazing, the ambiance is pretty lively/noisy due to the cozy nature of the restaurant, but you might be so entranced by your meal that it barely matters. I highly recommend this energetic neighborhood restaurant :)
Energetic is not really accurate for noise level. It interfered with our conversation and my husband left early because he had trouble hearing our friends.
The best French bistro in town! An excellent meal, wine selection and service.
Such a friendly, welcoming restaurant. And with a genuine French feel. The food was very good. It will become our new go-to restaurant.
We love La Piquette but Saturday night was extraordinary. The veal was the best I'd ever had.
The food was excellent, ambiance lively and nice, and they offered the full menu for restaurant week - - which most places do not do. Service was friendly and efficient. The appetizers (calamari plate and cod croquette) were delicious. The seared scallops and a breaded veal entree were both terrific. Desserts were a delight as well (esp the chocolate mousse). Very impressed with this restaurant. Will return!!
LaPiquette is a wonderful bistro! Great food and ambiance!
Really good food (4/5), not quite the same level as the food you'd find in Paris but still solid.
My wife and I spent $77 for 2, enjoyed the meals (I had the duck breast from the dinner menu and she had the 3 course set lunch menu of the salmon tartar salad, loaded omelette and creme brule) but left somewhat hungry. The portion sizes and the overall value (2/5) wasn't quite what we would have liked.
Atmosphere, decor, location all great (5/5). The waiter forgot about bringing us dessert, but another waiter noticed us sitting and took the time to ask. Also brought us extra table bread when we asked (though some of the bread was a bit stale while others were fresh. Overall service (4/5).
What a great experience. Has become my favorite place in DC. Food is delicious and staff is superb
The Washington Restaurant Week offerings were excellent in all categories. The bronzino was very good and the. Chocolate fondant was to die for!
Superb meal of cod croquettes, steak frites done perfectly, and tarte au pommes (the best I have ever eaten in the States).
Came for DC restaurant week, we were seated promptly and the menu was much larger than I was expecting. So many delicious sounding options that I had a hard time choosing! I cleaned my plate during every course, and everything was delicious! Service was a bit slow at some times and it was a bit hard to get a refill on my drink, but overall - will definitely be returning!
Great food at reasonable price. Friendly attentive servers.
The duck, coq au vin and mushroom appetizer were huge standouts. So glad we went for restaurant week!
I ordered the duck and it was ridiculously goos. The restaurant week menu was wonderful, basically there full menu with some proce adjustments. I would definitely go again.
