La Lupita [Taco & Mezcal] - San Jose

Always delivers. Gourmet tacos at it’s best! Every single taco has it’s own flavor profile. The brisket and scallops tacos are to die for but really, they are all good, all of them. Drinks can quickly double or triple your total check though.

La Lupita is a fun place to get tacos and drinks while hearing live music. Try to get an outside table if you're there for the music - we usually do but this time we were just inside. It's a different experience but still a lot of fun. Try the shrimp tacos!!

Our favorite spot when in San Jose! Food is 5 stars and service is top notch. Let me tell you about the music, oh the live music, I am always truly impressed with every band I have seen there. I don’t know how they find all this talent.

It was perfect. It never disappoints, food is always great and service excellent! We tried the baja oysters for the first time and we are so glad we did!!!! They were exquisite, and so were the tacos dorados. Pastor tacos were delicious as usual, and I also ordered the takeshi which is a rib eye taco with hoisin sauce in a flour tortilla, and I also had a lobster taco, it was 👌🏻👍🏻

Sin embargo olvidaron que estábamos celebrando cumpleaños, hasta que se le mencionó al mesero.
Una de las hostess no tuvo la mejor atención para algunos invitados de la mesa.
Nos sentimos muy apresurados, aunque conocemos la hora del cierre, sugiero que no sean tan notorios.

Yes, the tacos are all that. Be adventurous & order something out of your comfort zone! The mezcal list is superb, and the bartenders are awesome, too.

I had made my Open Table reservation at least a month in advance to celebrate my friend’s 50th, but when we arrived we were told they don’t have our reservation (don’t use Open Table?)! Then the hostess asked to see my reservation confirmation (which I showed her), and then said we would need to wait but that she would get us in (as if we lucky enough to still be seated).

Our reservation was for 9pm but we didn’t get seated until after 9:30pm. The hostess was also very rude and had an attitude. When we did get seated, it was at a table directly under the band and we couldn’t hear each other at all. Then I thought the food would make up for our experience thus far but I was wrong! Not a single one of us thought the food was worth one star. The hype is just that and the overall attitude, experience and food will ruin your evening!

Not your typical tacos! Everything is organic and gourmet. Many different fillings all in different types of tortillas. Excellent cocktails and friendly and professional service.

The food is to die for! We found out about this place three years ago and we’ve been back every year since and this year we are going twice! Make a reservation! This place is busy every time we go in. On top of that it is in beautiful San Jose !

Authentic! We had a part y of 6, we had excellent service and loved the ambiance with live music!!! The food is absolutely delicious and we all tried different taco combinations. Loved the taco w the cheese shell and all of the fresh proteins! Definitely worth checking out!!!! Plus don’t forget the margaritas :)

My wife and I had heard of La Lupita and made reservations for our trip to San Jose Del Cabo. We were seated right away and the wait staff were attentive immediately. We tried some different types of tacos including Octopus, lamb and beef tongue. I also had a flight of Mescal which was great and came in little hollowed out wooden cups. Great time and would definitely go back!
