Have always ordered seafood here and always been happy. It is open air and has an oasis feel and an enjoyable party atmosphere. Noise level vary, but not obtrusively so. Spring breakers that were there were respectful of the ambiance and fellow dinners. Not overly pricey and the whole package is a wonderful value
The food was spectacular. I had the seafood trio of prawns, fish and fried calamari. It was sooooooo goood!
I will definitely be back here when next I’m in the Cabo area!
Thank you guys for a great dinner and service.
Always come here when in Cabo. Great food and atmosphere.
We have always made this a must place for dinner on our annual Cabo trip. I mean for about 13 years even back when it was “The Trailer Park”. We just went with some friends for Valentine’s Day and we were VERY disappointed. From the moment we got there, we had plenty of servers just walk by paying no attention to us. I bet it took at least 10-15 minutes to get even get water. It was a busy night but we have been there on busier nights with no problems. They used to have a signature salad (on a tostado) but they have done away with that. 🙁. And then I ordered up my Shrimp Diablo that I get there every visit but the creamy Diablo sauce has been replaced with a watered down version that was very disappointing. I’m wondering if they haven’t changed owners because the owner ( a gringo) used to walk around the restaurant the whole night. The servers obviously don’t take care of each other or we would have had water and drinks right away. I don’t usually like to complain about restaurant I just chalk it up to a bad night but we have taken this restaurant off our list. While the ambience is still stunning there are too many good places to go down there which have great service and great food. Also another couple that was with us were down there a couple of weeks ago and the prices had jumped considerably. Valentine’s Day maybe, but not good practice.
We always enjoy the ambience of this restaurant and they have a good menu with many different choices
We dined at La Golondrina the other night. We had been there years ago but have not been back to Cabo since so we decided to go once again. It was absolutely outstanding and as good as we remembered! We had whole lobsters and had Caesar salad’s table side, we had steak, you name it we had it and everything was prepared meticulously! I highly recommend it… We will continue to go back again and again!
Have spent several great evenings here before....and this was wonderful dinner too . No problem when we added 2 more to our party.
Meal very good. Ambiance a little worn out. Price a little high. A “bucket list “ check off, probably would not return.
With the rave reviews posted we expected much more. The place and menu are "tired". Years ago it must have been quite a place. The patio, I am sure, hasn't changed in the last 30 years (including the furniture). The menu, also lacks creativity and appears to have little changed in many years. The staff were pleasant and responsive. As we were the only customers there at 8 PM on a Tuesday, the staff had little to do but focus on my wife and I. A very odd thing, too, was the arrangement between the bar and the kitchen. After we ordered wine, the server informed us that the bar is owned by a separate business from the kitchen so we would get two checks which, indeed, happened. In essence, both the place and the menu need to be spruced up. We have had many fine meals in restaurants within close proximity of this restaurant. We had read glowing review of this place and decided to make it our last destination in Cabo on this trip. Sorry to say, it was a sad experience.
Celebrating a birthday
We have been coming here for years! We love the patio a night time with all the lights. You have to go up and review the menu on the board - lots to choose from I might add! The service is wonderful, mariachi bands are always fun when they come by your table and the food is also wonderful. This is a place you wont regret going too!! It’s consistent year after year!
We made reservations over one month in advance for celebration here of a 70th birthday with the whole family- 8 people together from around the US. We were reminded from open table the day before and when we arrived for our reservation- the restaurant was CLOSED. We tried calling the next day as well- no answer. Our night and celebration were totally ruined, as we found ourselves in a foreign country all dressed up with no phone number that worked here, no help and no ideas. VERY disappointed in both open table and this restaurant.
My friend Isabelle’s birthday and welcoming them tonCabo on their first and our last night of vacation. We always come here for our last meal.
The prices are a bit steep for Cabo tho.
Food is always great and the service and atmosphere are phenomenal.
The atmosphere and service are delightful, but after many years of coming here on our annual vacation, we were very disappointed in the food this time. The food was average at best (we ordered ribs, steak and fish), and what used to be a bustling lively environment is now dead. We were one of only three tables in the whole restaurant at 7pm. Everyone at the restaurant is very kind, attentive and welcoming, but the food itself is no longer worth returning. Unfortunately this will be our last visit. Too many other better options in Cabo
Always great...year after year!
you should rethink your policy of requiring a credit cart to make opentable reservation
It likely puts off prospective diners and you have plenty of excess capacity to tolerate a few no-shows
Food was over priced.
A tasty gem for the tummy and eyes nestled under a sprawling, decorated tree. Authentic outdoor dining with delicious Mexican seafood. A must when in Cabo!
Food was good and enjoyed ourselves until the check arrived at which point after stating they accept American Express they proceed to enact an elaborate scam by telling you your card was declined so that you either pay with cash or another type of credit card! They flat out lied ! They said card declined three times yet my visa immediately accepted. I called American Express and they stated my card had not been run by the restaurant or by anyone since using it successfully earlier in the day. The establishment should be fined as they are a total fraud! Ruined what was a nice evening! I am going share experience with all social media in the hopes the restaurant realizes you cannot lie and expect to stay in business! American Express has also begun an investigation and to all looking at this restaurant AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!!
A great place to go with some history in the area. Wonderful ambiance under the trees.
Loved the atmosphere and vibe of restaurant! Great food choices !
Plenty of space, unique in that the menu is a board on a wall that you go up to see what is the evening fare. We had the seared Ahi, Filet, and lobster (steamed not grilled). and finally the bananas flambe, which was quite the show
We have been to La Gonondrina at least 10 times over the years and go there for a special dinner every time we're in Cabo. It's always a special place to go. This time something was different. The outdoor dining with the trees and lights and the romantic ambiance were the same. The waiters were wonderful and the place was spotless. Those things were all just as great as ever. But the food! Better than ever! A new chef perhaps? The salad was so fresh, and the coconut shrimp were amazing. We also had the mini Mexican combo and each item excelled! We remarked that this is something that seldom happens...something being better than we remember it. Restaurants often rest on their laurels and get tired after 20 years...but La Gonondrina is better than ever. Definitely plan to there if you want a great experience!
Los precios son altísimos.
Thanksgiving Buffet was tops. As close as you can get to homemade. Service the best, attentive but not in the way. Can't wait for next visit.
The service is wonderful and attentive but not intrusive Food OMG! I had the carne asada and lobster Mexican dinner! Both the steak and lobster melted in my mouth! The Cadillac margarita’s were just right!! My husband had grilled fish alcapucal sea bass. He ate every bit and left nothing on the plate. The fish was grilled to perfection, moist and delicious! We luv it here and highly recommend to all visiting Cabos!!!
Come here every time I visit cabo! It's a great experience and a beautiful setting.
It was great we had the seafood combo for two. Could easily split with a table.
My adult daughter and I were in Cabo for a long weekend, and learned about La Golondrina on Facebook. We reserved a table this past Saturday night, and had a lovely meal. The garden setting is beautiful, especially with the lacy branches of the trees and all the twinkling lights! We had ceviche to start (very refreshing with fresh mango), followed by a tostada salad, black bean soup, and then our entrees of grilled shrimp and grilled shrimp/seared ahi. The food was delicious! I especially enjoyed the black bean soup, on which the chef had written "Hola" in crema fresca.
We recommend La Golondrina highly!
Always one of the best meals but after having been here over 25 times and having an issue with the bill 20 out of the 25 times we are no no longer going and by the looks of the diminshed crowds other people are doing the same as every time it is less and less crowded.
Last time the put the wrong expiration date of my cc 3 times so it would be denied and i wpild have to pay cash and they eneded up locking my card.
It is a shame as this used to be one
Of my favorite restaurants and so have spent thousands at this restaurant and they will not get my business again.
Always come here for dinner in Cabo. Suggest splitting combo meals, you can add soup, salad bread and potatoes for a small cost for the second person. Huge portions.
La Golindrina is a wonderful family restaurant. The food and service is excellent. The ambiance is a must to experience traditional Spanish culture. We ate there June 5th and June 12th.
Food was bland and overall it's gone downhill since our last visit. I don't think we'll be back.
Not the restaurant I remember and extremely overpriced. Won't be back 😢
A great evening under the stars and the strings of light all about. The meals were spectacular. I shared a king lobster (2 1/2 pounds) with my wife and had tortilla soup while she had carrot soup. Both superb. We shared a Caesars Salad. Our guests had shrimp and lobster. Drinks were very good as was the Mexican coffee after dinner with the flamed liquor. We were too filled to have dessert but peaking at the other tables, all looked delicious. It was my 3rd or 4th visit to this restaurant and it won't be my last. The first time I went, I had a whole fried fish and had made a comment that if you turn the fish over, there is a whole other fish. Now my friends always ask about the place with fish on both sides. 😎 Gary (from Sacramento & new owners of a condo in San Jose del Cabo).
Food was very good. The singer was terrible. Off key and singing American favorites so it made it even worse--like a bad Las Vegas impersonation. They've had good Mexican music before. It felt like they were trying to be too Americanized and that's not what we go there for. We will check before taking friends there again.
