La Cote D'Or
Everything was good, as usual, but I was a little disappointed in my Apple Pie dessert.....looked to be a packaged pie (or at least not made-from scratch by La Cote D'Or people). My husband enjoyed the lamb stew very much.
Coffee could have been hotter, but as usual, overall we were very pleased and will be back soon.
We've driven by for over a decade and decided to eat at La Cote D'Or. So glad we finally ate here. Service was attentive, noise level was good for having a conversation. Food was excellent. Wine list, while not large, has good variety and price points. Menu has good variety and something for everyone. The cassoulet was outstanding. Beat salad was also very good. Only complaint was our table was close to a swinging door that wait staff used regularly, so it wasn't a great table location. Tables closer to window would be better. Overall we really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back.
Enjoyed the new menu. Service was great, friendly, and efficient.
Great food, reasonable prices, service is always excellent. We’ll be back again!
Cote D'Or serves traditional French cuisine in a pleasant environment. Traditional dishes like Bouillabaisse and Cassoulet are excellent. Shad roe was OK, but a bit overcooked. Great salads and soups.
The foieGras Pate was tasty, as was the Caesar salad, I appreciated the large shavings of parmesan cheese. I had the catfish, which was very good. My partner tried the pork weiner schnitzel. The selected wines were $25 a bottle on Sundays. The profiteroles were a bit better than the creek brûlée’. Overall a under appreciated gem of a French restaurant in falls church. They offer $35 and $45 prix fix three course meals.
Rack lamb very thin..mix of pink and well done.
Good salad....fries too salty
Very good place if you want French food at a reasonable price. The 3 course lunch menu is wonderful and a great deal.
Can only remark as before! This venue is always perfect and outstanding! The service is exemplary and very attentive ... makes you feel like you are dining in a friend's home! Our favorite restaurant on the same level as Chez Napolean in NYC!
Excellent service and food. Will definitely return
Always a very good meal at a fair price. Parking can be a bit tricky, but the shared parking lot with The hotel next door helps.
This is a terrific neighborhood spot with excellent, mostly simple French food. You can count on it's being quiet enough for conversation and never disappoints.
Love La Cote D'Or and seek to go at every opportunity!
La Cote d'Or is a classic French restaurant, one of the few in the area to focus on the classic French cuisine and many standard favorites, which were all well prepared along classic lines. The decor is very attractive and at a Sunday brunch it was very quiet even though mostly full. The prix fixe menu is very attractively priced for a nice 3-course meal. We will definitely return.
Excellent place for date night. Cozy and great atmosphere. Looking forward to another visit!
I had the Dijon crusted lamb chops cooked as the chef choosed. They were tender and delicious!
Excellent food and service! They kindly took care of my wife and her bad leg while I parked. We have never been disappointed by them.
It's the perfect place for a special occasion, the servers know what they are recommending and are very professional. The attention is just right and not overwhelming/too much. It has a old-world European flair, with an almost intimate ambiance which is welcome for a small group. Love it, we have eaten there about 5 times in recent years.
A special place, with just the right 'ambiance française'.
Great food, great restaurant.
Easy Open Table reservation. Can be very limited parking (may need to park on controlled side streets). Warm and gracious welcome. Excellent service from professional wait help. Wizards in kitchen create and deliver wondrously tasty and overall fantastic food and drink. Can be a little noisy when all tables are used (may need slightly raised voice). Overall very satisfied when it was time to go, wanting to let others know how great this dining experience was (on every visit).
We went to a Valentine's menu dinner of 15 February. Service is always great and Jorge, our server, took time to go over the choices. He suggested both a great red and a great white wine. We have had him serve before - very professional and pleasant. I had the gravlax appetizer, my husband had the ginger Lobster consomme. We both had as a main course - the beef. I had the chocolate dessert and my husband had the strawberry Tiramsue. The French loaves they serve with unsalted butter we love - the best in our area. The meal was awesome. In fact, every meal we have eaten there has always been excellent. Highly recommend La Cote D'Or. Chef Jacque is the owner and he put together a beautiful birthday dinner for my husband's birthday. You cannot go wrong. I hope that the gravlax will become available on the regular menu soon.
Best French Cuisine restaurant ever! This was my first time and i loved it!
We went on a Valentine’s Day date. There was a delicious fixed price menu. The service was excellent, and the restaurant overall had a warm ambiance.
Valentine’s Day. The special Valentine’s Day menu had something for all tastes. A set price for a very good 3 course meal. The restaurant was running like a well oiled machine, which on 2/14 is not always the case. Solid cocktails, and French cuisine, what’s not to like. Note: parking is a bit of an issue in this area.
Enjoyed the Valentine's Day menu. We live in Europe for several years and have sought cuisine that actually matches the native menu their, not just by name. This is it. We're coming back. Price is worth it. Nothing wrong with the ambiance, but I encourage the owner to continue to enhance.
This was our first experience at La Côte d'Or and happy to have discovered it. We ate lunch. The menu had a good variety. The food was properly seasoned and cooked just right. Upon leaving I learned that the chef-owner prepares healthier dishes and still keeping with Burgundy menu. We will return. Looking forward to trying one of the upcoming special feature dates.
Cozy restaurant, comfortable noise level. Nicely spaced tables. Romantic atmosphere. Nice staff and very good food
Great lunch - excellent food, good table, courteous and friendly service!
I continue to meet friends at the restaurant. I enjoy the decor. The food quality has been failing. My husband's coq au vin tasted old. The vegetable medley with the open crepe and egg tasted tired.
The bread is great. The cappuccinos were disappointing. My niece made no comment and left half of the French toast.
When we arrived, the chef came out to take a call at the desk and his apron was FILTHY. I also cook a lo, and it appeared as though the apron hadn't been laundered in a while. Our reservation was for 11:00.
I just don't know...
I have come to your restaurant for years. It is time to say good-bye.
I came for the Cassoulet,
I saw the Cassoulet,
And I devoured the Cassoulet
It was delicious & the Mousse - exquisite.
I was in a party of 12. The service was excellent
A good time was had by all.
A charming French cafe with an authentic Parisian feel!
We had a wonderful and quiet lunch at La Cote D'Or. Such a pleasant atmosphere and the food is wonderful.
My daughter and I enjoyed lunch at this warm and inviting restaurant on the way home from a stressful medical appointment. It was a perfect choice to help us both relax and appreciate a leisurely meal. We both chose the pre-fixe lunch option which was a wonderful value. We had different soup choices and we tried one another's selection. I loved her brothy soup but preferred my creamy choice. She loved her soup but enjoyed my smoother option. We both had the pork schnitzel and it was outstanding with a lovely caper, lemon sauce. We ignored the potatoes and vegetables because the pork was delicious and we didn't want to stop eating it. Even with a concerted effort, we could not finish the HUGE portion of schnitzel that was on our plates! Dessert was wonderful. Rarely do you find "floating island" and I ate it all! Delicious. Her apple tart was also very good and the cappuccino on point. The service was attentive and professional. Can't wait for another medical appointment to give me a reason to travel to Falls Church!
We have dined at La Cote many times over the years. The service and food was always first rate.
However, during our recent visit, on Feb. 4th, for my wife's birthday, something changed.
The service seemed a bit slower and it took longer than normal (I thought) to get served our entrees. My main dish (seafood crepes) were good. My wife's entree - not so. Based on a recommendation from our server, she chose the pork schnitzel. It was dry and not all that appetizing. I asked my wife if she wanted me to say something to the server and order something else? She politely said "No." She continued picking at it, eating small portions along with the side dish. I finally called the server over and complained about her dinner. He apologized, then mentioned it does come out a bit dry at times due to the sauce and the thickness of the slice of pork. This is something he should have mentioned when he recommended the dish.
There was an adjustment on the bill, taking 1/3 the cost of her three course menu off the check.
We still like the ambience and overall quality of the service at La Cote. My hope is, this one bad experience is a rarity.
The food is "Comme Toulouse". Excellently prepared and a good value. The winelist is exemplary, if you are knowledgeable. We were not impressed with the service on this occasion (the waiter pushed us to order everything at once, and we had to ask for more bread), but in the past it has not been an issue. Be forewarned: the noise level on Friday and Saturday nights are not conducive to easy conversations. When we go back - and we will - it will be on a Thursday.
Always a great stop for good food and delightful service!
This place is a hidden gem in Falls Church. Although there are tons of restaurants, few serve excellent food, with superb attentive service, while offering a daily three course lunch for $25. Worth every penny.
I had lunch with 2 friends. Nice quiet place for visiting even though the dining room was full. They offered many choices including fixed price 3 course meals and many a la carte items. Everyone was satisfied with their choices and we are looking forward to out next visit. It was not inexpensive but worth it given the quality of food, ambience and service.
Consistently good fine dining at this neighborhood favorite. Cote d'Or has been here for a long time and has a loyal clientele. A la carte or $35/45 prix fixe menu. Can't go wrong with onion soup or coq au vin! I like seafood and get the bouillabaisse all the time.
