La Central - Los Cabos
As a local I enjoy La Central about once a week. They have a great staff, the music is always fresh from DJ's to live music. My wife and I are vegetarians and love the soup of the day along with the salads and appetizers. When we dine with friends they've enjoyed the meats. It's a great place to get a bottle of wine or tequila and just enjoy a night on the Marina.
Great atmosphere and menu. Poor service at the bar, terrible chefs who just couldn’t get anything right. Medium steaks coming out blue rare.
This was my second visit to La Central. The first time for lunch was amazing and it was just after they opened so I was very impressed. That’s why we came back. This trip was not as impressive. They were out of just about any white wine (Chardonnay) that we wanted. The appetizers we ordered were the short rib empanadas (they were okay) and the fideo (simple Mexican dish elevated, very good!). There was 4 of us and we shared the 40oz tomahawk chop. Plenty of steak to be shared, it was cooked well but it lacked flavor. A shame for such a beautiful piece of meat. The sides we shared were the million dollar potatoes (good), creamed spinach (okay) and sautéed mushrooms (uneventful). Service was good, ambiance is great. I’m hoping it will get better because it’s a prime location on the marina. I’m not counting them out. Maybe I’ll go back to try them again this season.
Food was disappointing
Pricy for what you get
La Central is great. Thursdays they have a live band which is very loud. We moved from outside to inside only because it was too loud for the 6 of us to talk with each other. The music was still plenty loud from inside also. Not complaining but only mentioning as FYI that for intimate quiet dinners, other nights are probably better than Thursday. That said, La Central is one of our fav restaurants in Cabo.
The service is great. The decor and design is amazing. The mixiologies are great. The food is just good
Came here to cap off my trip to Cabo after walking by all week and loving the outdoor decor. The service was very good, and it was relaxing to look out at the marina while we enjoyed our meal.
Drinks were excellent, and overall so was the food. Stand outs were the baby beets and the millionaire potatoes. Unfortunately, didn't really love the queso served two ways. We barely touched it, and I was surprised that the server didn't comment on that despite being so attentive in many other ways. We ordered the cafeto for dessert, which got a hearty recommendation. Sadly... it didn't really taste like anything. It looks beautiful but the flavor just wasn't there.
We only had apps, drinks, and dessert so I can't speak for the quality or value of the mains.
Great place to spend good time with friends or family
