Banque & Bohem
I reserved via opentable and the restaurant was closed
Totally rubbish, be sure not to bother making a booking as it could be the case that no one shows up or even opens for you. We left the beach only to stand outside waiting like lemons for 20minutes. Disappointing to say the least!
This venue is closed be warned Open Table is still taking bookings for it & even booking reminders even though the venue closed in February
Highly recommended. Amazing food and really friendly service. Will definitely be back!
Fabulous evening for a special birthday family meal! Been before on a works party, loved it then, thankyou it was lovely food & yummy cocktails! Anne
Beautiful building, amazing staff. Drinks and food was amazing
SECOND TIME DINING AT B&B - ATMOSPHERE AND FEEL OF RESTERAUNT IS EXCELLENT - FOOD AS ALWAYS SUPERB ALTHOUGH A COUPLE OF CHOICES HAD SOLD OUT - STAFF ARE ATTENTIVE BUT NOT AT ALL PUSHY - MALL IN ALL TOTALLY RECOMMENDED
Enjoyed a great Lunch , couldn't fault it, service, presentation 100% and a lovely Large port to finish, courtesy of the Owner. I heartily recommend this Restaurant, will return soon. Georgie was our waitress , very attentive.
Lovely decor using the old banks charm with amazing chandeliers. Friendly staff and fantastic food. Went on a Thursday and had a guitarist playing who was very good an not too loud! Food and wine prices very reasonable. Would definitely go again, but Friday and Saturday could be very crowded and noisy if you wanted a quiet meal
Nice decor. Staff were nice but no one had a specific job. Bit disorganised. Our starter was great but the curry was a let down. The chicken was processed and rubbery and not very appetizing. I think they need to get their act together a bit more and am sure it will be a success
Very disappointed this evening. Service was slow, champagne was flat and the food was mediocre. Things haves changed. What a shame.
Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. The wrong starter was brought up at first , the potatoes were raw on our main and it took ages for our plates to be cleared. The staff were great and fixed everything quickly and gave us a discount, but I think overall the kitchen service was sloppy.
Great venue - full of character. Very attentive staff. We had a great evening and were very well looked after. Highly recommend
The food was well cooked but the service was extremely slow and constantly needed chasing. Bread and olives took around 30 minutes. To come out and the starters and mains were no faster. Overall we were in the restaurant for 2 and a half hours! My seafood medley was missing the crispy squid so only had fish and prawns and my husbands beef rib had a bit of plastic in it. We had a 20% taken off our bill but we won't be coming back anytime soon.
Food was good no complaints but not outstanding.
Something missing in the atmosphere here although the decor and place itself is stunning, by 10pm the Dj gets going and it’s extremely loud so remember to finish your meals and conversation by then as it literally turns into a party night out !
A grand decor but sadly was rather quiet when we visited
On the evening we went they had a bit of a nightmare - 3 staff blew out and left them very short. They handled this pretty well and even though service was a bit slow, they compensated for this with drinks on the house. They were very apologetic and their friendly manner helped smooth over the situation
I booked the place to celebrate couple of my friends birthday on recommendation of 2 friends who been there when it just opened. They were full of praise. The staff were very friendly. Few of my friends wanted to order rissatto which they were out that night. 3 of us ordered the salmon. Ten minutes after our order I saw one of the staff walked in and discretely handed the chef pre packed salmon, probably bought from Tesco express down the road. I mentioned it to my friend they must have run out of salmon too.
The salmon was dry due to being over cooked. Didn’t want to ruined my friend’s birthday by complaining.
I just mentioned it to my friend who recommended it. She said it is a shame that they offer such a good food when they are newly open and gradually go down. I said indeed and they charge £15 for the fish bought pre packed from super market.
Then I asked for my green tea bag to be set aside as I don’t like it too strong but she brought it with the tea bag inside the guy offered to bring a new pot I said it’s ok just bring me s pot of hot water and I mix it in my cup. 10 min later was still waiting for the hot water and had to order it again.
I won’t be going back nor recommend it.
Food was excellent.
Bar / restaurant nearly empty at 8 till 10 on a Thursday when Bournemouth was very busy. No atmosphere unlike previous visits earlier in the year.
Friendly staff. Excellent Sunday lunch. Would highly recommend.
Overall very good however we had to return both our cocktails and get new ones as they tasted like flavoured water. The food was good; fish trio was very nice and lamb shank a bit flavourless. The dessert was great! Service was very good. Would recommend when in Bournemouth.
Booked a Sunday lunch, service was a bit slow but once we were served all was good, an hour of bottomless prosecco or wine for £11 was a bargain and made the meal really reasonable. The decor is lovely but no live music as advertised, all in all I would go back, the food was delicious especially the roast beef which was cooked pink to perfection.
Unbelievable slow. They said the food would be free as service was so slow. When the bill came they had only deducted 50%.
The meal was very good and service attentive, apart from a young trainee who didn't know what he was doing.
The only negative comment I have is that the music was so loud we could not have a conversation at the table, but when we asked for the level to be turned down, the waiter promptly complied and the lower volume of music was acceptable.
Booked restaurant as part of our weekend break. Were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table, given menu and offered drinks. Ordered food and were served within a reasonable time our starters, food was fresh and hot. Mains were served after a short time and again were of good quality ingredients, nicely presented and hot. Would recommend this restaurant and visit again if in the area.
Fantastic food , staff really friendly and nothing was too much trouble, good music and overall a lovely place
Everybody enjoyed the Sunday roast, which includes a vegetarian option so we didn't even try the a la carte menu, although that also looked interesting on the website, we will have to come back again and try that! I was quite full after 2 courses, although the growing lads in our party enjoyed 3. Again, serendipitously, we all ordered the caramel brownies, so we can't vouch for any of the other desserts but the plates were scraped clean. The English garden cocktail was delicious and although there was no beer on the menu, our server brought it from the bar, along with plenty of cold tap water. Good value for money, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and delightful surroundings, I really wanted to take a roll of that peacock wallpaper home!
Came here for my girlfriends birthday and they were fantastic, food was brilliant, service excellent, they even gave us 2 glasses of prosecco to celebrate! Definitely coming back.
A beautifully decorated former bank, Banque et Boheme has a laid back atmosphere of relaxed stylish casual. The drinks menu is extensive, with excellent cocktails. (I would recommend the Old Fashioned as a good classic and Beauty in the Bean as a beautiful dessert cocktail). The food is cooked to perfection, with a good mix of classic restaurant fare (salmon, steak etc.) as well as innovative additions. Staff are attentive and more than happy to help accommodate dietary needs, while being friendly and not overwhelming. Highly recommended for a stylish but not posh evening meal. Check out their wine club and lunch menu, including afternoon tea with prosecco.
Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. Bright and with high ceiling. Food menu is excellent balance. Not too many to select from but enough to cover the majority I am sure. There were several I could of considered. Wine list was the same good choices available and not pretentious. Décor great and if you dine in the strong room it would be excellent. One of my guests drink was wrong and the waitress was very quick to correct and no issue. Quiet and competent service from staff who know what they are doing. I will be going again. Business dinner for four, 2 courses with drinks, £200 + tip. Highly recommend.
Fantastic venue for Sunday lunch - the decor is just beautiful, attentive and friendly staff and the food is outstanding. Will definite be back!
Seated in the Vault room was noisy and a bit claustrophobic. Wasn’t aware this was where we were going to be seated. Certainly wouldn’t go back if had to be seated there.
Fantastic Food. Best I have had for ages. Not the cheapest but worth the money.
Can be a bit noisy if a lot of people are just in for a drink. We went at 6pm on a Thursday and there was a large crowd next to our table which made it hard to talk as it was quite noisy but they didn't stay long and it didn't spoil the evening.
Going on other reviews, I definitely want to try the Sunday Lunch.
Excellent food and service - beautiful setting - highly recommend the Sunday roast.
This was our second visit for Sunday lunch and once again we were suitably impressed. The food, from the quality of the meat to the variety of vegetables, was second to none and all at a very reasonable price. The staff were polite and attentive. Certainly one to recommend and we will definitely return.
Amazing food (we had the 2 course bottomless Prosecco brunch) and even better service! Our waiter made sure our glasses were always topped up.
Loved the decor and I will definitely be back 😊
We had a lovely meal here on a Friday night - the food was better than I was expecting - starter of king prawns and chorizo really tasty followed by wonderfully cooked lamb with creamed cabbage - I normally don't like cabbage but this was great. We weren't expecting the place to turn into a bit of a disco later but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Good lunch, a nice restaurant with live music when we were there although we were in the vault room so had mood music covering that up a bit. Staff are very friendly, food was good although I do have a (strange!) food allergy and checked the menu, no mention of peas in the vegetables but rocked up with peas on the plates. Quickly fixed but small blot. Legume allergy as it’s called can be nasty so best call out all vegetables served not just 4 of the 5 :0) Would visit again, and was a good choice for Mother’s Day with a gift for my mum too
Our table wasn’t ready for half an hour, but we were compensated with a glass of prosecco.
The fish medley was excellent!
Will definitely go again.
We have visited a few times now, for cocktails and lunch.
From a table of 4 for Sunday lunch with live music to booking a table of 17 for a special occasion.
We have partied, until 4am, with the most amazing cocktails - made by Rama - and the next day we were back in at 13:00 for their awesome roast dinner - much needed!
Staff, Service, food, drinks, atmosphere and location are all 5*...
In fact I have just booked again for this Sunday and we are booked in for Easter Sunday... No doubt we will be in between and also I must try their unlimited prosecco brunch soon.
Thanks to all at B&B :)
