The food quality has decreased. The service provided by management was poor. The only focussed on the non Sri Lankan patrons.

The flavours were delicious but the servings were small. As we were a party of 6 we were forced to have the set menu and while the dishes presented were delicious I felt the amount of food was insufficient and some of our party (in particular the men) were still hungry at the end. It is worth noting that the dessert was 1 serving between 2. The service was friendly but it would have been good if they'd checked in with us and we could have had the opportunity to request more rice. I would also prefer to determine my own tip / service amount rather than have a 10% automatically apply for a 'group' of 6. I would go again but only with fewer people so we could choose our own dishes and quantity.

Lovely family run business - highly recommend giving this a go. Cashew curry is a must try!!

Really delicious and interesting food, beautifully prepared and presented. A great choice for vegetarians - so many good things on the menu.

I’ve eaten at Kurumba a number of times. The quality of their food, the presentation, the warmth of the service and the ambiance keeps me returning. This restaurant is a little jem. I highly recommend making this a regular place to visit.

We booked for 5.30 and arrived 5mins early. It was cold outside and was told. It open until 5.30 so stood outside in the cold when they could have just said to please feel free to take a seat and they would be with us in 5mins. We ordered 2 portions of scallops but only 1 arrived and then it took a while to get the portion they forgot. They tasted just ok but not fresh. After 70 mins of arrival we asked if we could get the mains and they arrived shortly after. The 4 lamb cutlets at $45 were chewy and we left one of them. The prawn curry had 4 large prawns but we only had one each as they did not taste fresh. The roti was also a bit chewy and not flaky. They did provide complimentary hoppers which tasted nice. Overall we did not enjoy the service or food which is a shame as we had been looking forward to this palace.

We recently dined at Kurumba and while the food itself was decent, the overall experience left something to be desired—mainly due to the service. The starters were enjoyable, and the flavors throughout the meal were generally good. However, the portion sizes felt a bit small for the price point. The bigger concern was the pacing of the meal. There was nearly an hour-long gap between our starters and main courses, which really disrupted the flow of the evening. Dessert then took another 30 minutes to arrive, which made the entire meal feel drawn out and disjointed. It’s clear that Kurumba has potential—the ingredients and presentation were solid—but the timing issues made it difficult to fully enjoy the evening.

Came here for a dinner with my partner and we enjoyed the best Sri Lankan food. The kothu rotti was absolutely perfect, with the roti being made in-house, the chicken curry was delicious but the hoppers were standout! The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely as well, the upstairs seating was nice and cosy. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to everyone!

We booked for us to come here on Mothers Day. It was for brunch at 11 am. A few things really annoyed me and my party: -no coffee option, only a Sri Lankan cold coffee which came with ice cream and tasted like a generic milkshake. -at 12 o’clock the owner came and told her staff that a table of 14 was going to arrive and when we were gone they should clear our table and join it with the others. - this information created some sort of urgency and our table was cleared over and over- as each plate or glass was emptied, a wait staff would rush to take it away. -at one point the doors right beside us to the verandah was opened, letting the cold air in. Of course this is an age old trick of making the space uncomfortable so you’ll leave. I really hated being rushed through a special day like that. I doubt anyone of the Kurumba team who might have been sitting in my place would have appreciated that feeling either at any restaurant. The meal was overpriced- We were charged $28 for four small glasses of sparkling water which might have been topped up twice. A tiny pot of black tea was $8. 10%surcharge for Sundays, a tip and a1.5% credit card surcharge took a rushed 1.5 hour brunch ( no alcohol) to almost $200. We would have gladly spent more but the subtext of trying to get us out as quickly as possible really spoilt everything. Not cool on Mother’s Day when you’re trying to have a meaningful gathering with family, and we were well within our time limit anyway. Our invoice is time stamped at 12.10 pm, having started at 11am. I wouldn’t call this hospitality. Not coming back.
