Koomo Pork Ramen
flavoured with miso, served with sliced pork belly, corn, bamboo shoots, baby king brown mushroom
Chicken Katsu Sando
Steamed Pork And Pine Nut Dumplings
The restaurant looks great. Service was good. Food was a little disappointing. The pork bao and lobster rolls were delicious. Dumplings were a bit dry.
Really enjoyed the food.
Service staff were inexperience and slow at times but I'm sure this will improve over time.
Food was very nice but everything had too much sauce, even the salad way too much dressing, so the flavours were lost in all the different flavours of the sauces .
Great entrees but mains were very uninspiring. Too much sauce, strange balance of flavours.
Service was pretty average considering they weren’t busy. Food ok but didn’t enjoy the lamb.
Came for Easter long weekend. They called early on the week to advise it was going to be bar menu only and asked if I was ok with it. The person said he'll send the menu to me via email so I can browse and then get back to him if we wanted to dine still. No menu was received. Received another call instead to confirm booking. I confirmed it anyway.
Upon arrival we were greeted and was told we could sit anywhere. We chose to sit outside. The staff did not provide a menu and so I went to get one myself.
We made our order at the counter and was given plates at the counter which I had to bring to the table myself. I was a bit annoyed as there was a 10% surcharge for public holiday but it didn't equate to the actual service level received.
Dumplings - good taste overall
Katsu Sando - poorest Sando I've had, chicken was dry
Chicken katsu burger - was ok. Said it came with fries but didn't say what fries and I assumed it was just standard french fries. I actually ordered sweet potato fries on the side. The staff did not even advise to say there was two servings of the same fries.
Ordered 2 lemon lime bitters but it came with soda instead of lemonade. Not cool.
Overall, pretty poor experience. Spent $80 for what would be $50 better off at Macca's Won't come again. Expected better for a "high class" restaurant.
I was a bit disappointed with the overall dining experience. For a fine dining price tag, the dishes were small and the flavours were lacking and despite the name koomo (cloud), all we could see was the side of another building.
Great staff and service, the Wagyu dish from the Starters menu was our favourite. Beautiful views of Adelaide. We will be back soon!
Amazing Food!! Loved the Atmosphere!! Will Definitely be returning!!
Refined and classy place, amazing views and super tasty food
Great food with lots of options to accommodate different preferences. Portions were larger than anticipated so great place to share a few dishes. More families than anticipated but still a good date night spot with beautiful views when you request a table by the window!
Lighting in the restaurant felt like I was in an office building during 9-5 hours. Dim the lights to create some ambiance please.
Food was okay but portion sizes were tiny and didn’t facilitate share plates well.
Really disappointed after looking forward to this visit. Wine on list not available. Had to try and get someone's attention for a drink.
Was such a contrast to the service at the hotel bar which was exceptional.
An absolute delight of a restaurant! Staff went out of there way to make sure we were happy. Food was amazing : )
We booked our anniversary dinner at the restaurant 2 weeks in advance specifying it was a special night. When we arrived we were sat at a thin wall bench with hard stools for seating like a street food restaurant. Pretty disappointed by that. Within 3 minutes of sitting we were asked if we were ready to order food. So after that I made a complaint about the table and the manager accommodated us by moving tables half way through our delicious (but expensive af) entrees. We were approached by 2 different servers who were contradicting each other. Our mains were cold (and also expensive af).
Breakfast was chaos in the restaurant. Seemed to be stretched by not enough staff and the fact the buffet had to be served by staff due to Covid 19. Queues of unhappy people with staff rushing around in near panic whilst chefs could be seen handling food with the same fingers they were dinging bells. Tables were so close together you could hardly walk between them. It was actually madness and the dining room radiated tension. Couldnt wait to leave.
Messy, poorly managed, expensive. Wont be returning for just a few tasty entrees.
The starters were ok but the mains were well below par. I think Koomo caters for an Aussie palate as it lacked those traditional Japanese undertones.
Great atmosphere though
Amazing food! Didn't love that they charge for table water though..
Outstanding views, delicious food & sensational service.
The food was delicious and we will definitely go back to try more dishes. The staff were friendly, the decor was nice and views were fantastic.
Food was excellent. Great flavours, fresh, and well-cooked.
Table service was friendly. However, the wait times for meals was extreme and not very acceptable.
Absolutely fantastic experience dining at Koomo! Our kids thoroughly enjoyed it too. Attentive friendly staff and amazing food. Will be back.
We were excited to try Koomo, but were sadly disappointed. The restaurant was loud and echo-y and although we hoped the food would make up for this, it was nothing to write home about.
Tries to achieve fine dining but falls short. There are plenty of better Japanese options available in Adelaide at this price point
Brilliant! A fantastic evening with friends. The service was lovely.
Koomo has an international vibe with its modern, stylish and sleek decor and views across Adelaide. The menu selection is easily navigated and the food has improved to a more sophisticated level since our first visit with the dishes having more complexity in their flavour, texture and structure. Good wine selections including local. Service was first class - friendly, informative and efficient. Definitely recommend a visit.
Lobster roll was amazing
The potatoes smelt like off fish and weren’t crispy.
Main chicken - very bland
Our expectations were too high for this restaurant. Food and ambience just average. Staff were friendly but perhaps over loaded because we had trouble getting extra drinks and having our empty plates removed from the table.
We're not likely to return since there are so many alternatives to try.
Service and drinks were slow
I was very excited to try this new restaurant, and took my partner there for his birthday. The decor and the view is impeccable. The staff were pleasant but not very attentive. We had to frequently ask to order drinks, and needed to chase up our dessert twice.
On the plus side the food was exquisite but extremely small serves. While I did not expect the serves to be large, I think it is below expectation to leave hungry after paying $170 for 2 meals.
Fabulous venue and the food is nice but it’s Japanese influenced rather than Japanese.
Koomo is a nice restaurant. Indoor seating is not intimate at all but rather very noisy. Outdoor (where we sat) is better but the views at night are obscured by the unnecessary patterns on the glass balustrading. We paid for the four course menu at $85 dollars per head (drinks in addition to this). The food was nice. Servings were adequate but the main course was not well-rounded. It consisted of Salmon & a chicken dish with no real accompaniment. Something of a side (e.g., green veg etc) would have improved the food. It’s worth a visit but the food itself did not represent great value. If we had sat inside this review and overall score would be much lower.
Entrees were great. Mains very disappointing. Service was also disappointing particularly slow and having to top up our own glasses.
It's a nice restaurant but lacks ambience to be a special restaurant. I would return but I wouldn't hurry back.
A great space to vibe with exquisite food to suit. Flavours are authentic with a subtle twist to keep your tastebuds entertained. Drinks are also accomodating to suit the food menu and to vibe with the view after dining as well.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent menu with different options.
This is my 4th meal at Koomo. I like the food, but the service is still lacking - it is unattentive. Also, the signage has not improved. People get lost going to the toilets and finding their way back to the restaurant. A simple sign that says 'toilets' above the complex signage about being unisex etc would really help. Then, more signs explaining how to get back to your seat.
Food very tasty, did set menu. Service for drinks was a bit slow, we would have drunk more but had to wait for service, abit of a missed opportunity for restaurant. Great view and energy in the rest a rant will be back to try more on the menu.
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The waitress was very helpful with suggestions about what to order & meal sizes etc. The service was excellent, my glass regularly re-filled with water, good timing between courses & a good number of staff. The 2 courses & salad I had were all very good, lovely combinations of ingredients...I love Japanese food as it’s quite light & healthy! This restaurant could definitely be a regular for me!!
The food was amazing! Generous portions and everything was delicious! Service was very good. We sat outside so it was very windy and found the large group beside us extremely noisy but overall the view was worth it. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back.
Appreciated the decor and unique location. Food quality was excellent but would have liked to have had green vegetables with main meal.
