Chicken Katsu Sando
Koomo Pork Ramen
flavoured with miso, served with sliced pork belly, corn, bamboo shoots, baby king brown mushroom
Steamed Pork And Pine Nut Dumplings
Ambiance terrible: noisy and the lighting too bright.
View impeded my reflections. Furniture uncomfortable.
Not a lot to indicate a Japanese experience.
The food was great however!
Talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk. Food underwhelming & average at best. Service was attentive & friendly. Ambiance good. Menu sounds amazing but doesn’t stand up to the descriptions.
Unfortunately food was major let down!
Booked in for a lovely mid-week dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday, and we were not disappointed. The only thing better than the service, was the food. They even shouted my wife a free wine to celebrate. The lobster roll and Chicken katsu sando where out of this world, plus the portion sizes for the mains was ridiculous (will need to go on a diet ASAP).
If you want a high quality modern Japanese dinner experience, then I highly recommend you treat yourself to a Koomo visit as its 10/10.
Very friendly staff, good city views, food above average, my only complaint would be itje food needs to get to table at the temperature the chef would expect.
Food was really poor, don’t order the tuna tartare.
Interior looked really nice. We had a friendly greeting besides waiting a few minutes for anyone to realise we were waiting to be seated. Very accomodating as we had a pram with a baby asleep, they happily moved tables ect to fit in. Their lacked any ambience - no background music ect
Lots of good choices on the menu. The best by far was the chicken katsu sando.
Service was a little slow as we were waiting for another serve of the sandos and the chefs had to ding the bell 3 times before anyone came to collect them from the pass.
I would be back for the view and the katsu sandos!
Enjoyed very much that will definitely come back 🙌
The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had.
Service was very attentive and friendly, took my coat, kept filling up our water, food and drinks were delivered quickly, and were all delicious. Would definitely return!
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. I feel like I’m in japan . Amazing wines, food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.
We had an awesome night, celebrating our wedding anniversary and were provided a complimentary desert.
Very pleasant experience. Attentive but unobtrusive service. Good food. Interesting menu and environment.
The service was very good, the quality of food was excellent, although the portion could have been better
Overall very good experience
Overall the food was great. Lovely textures and flavours, and really well presented. Had the $85 shared menu as a way to dive into a few new foods. The only odd thing was the salad that arrived with the mains (beef and broccoli). It looked like it could have been knocked up at the Findon hotel on Schnitty Tuesday! Both my wife and I noted how incongruous it looked compared to all the other beautifully presented dishes. About 5 different staff interacted with us over a couple of hours? Maybe that is how it is done these day? Thanks
I could not fault my experience as all. The food, service and atmosphere was all on point. Highly recommend Koomo.
nothing really all that special food wise. a little light on for the price. service was great, not much ambiance on hard seats. can find better value elsewhere.
Enjoyed the food but was a bit overpriced. The service and waiter were excellent and looked after us.
We had the impression Koomo was a "special restaurant", being new as it is in Crowne Plaza Adelaide, supposedly the highest restaurant in town etc.
We were underwhelmed. It is basically a hotel restaurant. The views are mediocre - it's really strange that they put it on level 10, in amongst the other buildings still, rather than up near the top (where the views from the rooms are worth the fuss).
The restaurant was barely half full, but the waiters were not coping because they seemed to have to walk for miles repeated times to achieve anything. I'm not sure what was going on there. They couldn't control the air conditioning - it was freezing: this was acknowledged, and apologised ... but still.
There are some very special dishes here for sure - our entrees were great. But the salads are the same that you get from room service, so we'd already had those, and the mains were ordinary.
We had a perfectly enjoyable meal, but it's nothing special.
The restaurant looks great. Service was good. Food was a little disappointing. The pork bao and lobster rolls were delicious. Dumplings were a bit dry.
Really enjoyed the food.
Service staff were inexperience and slow at times but I'm sure this will improve over time.
Food was very nice but everything had too much sauce, even the salad way too much dressing, so the flavours were lost in all the different flavours of the sauces .
Great entrees but mains were very uninspiring. Too much sauce, strange balance of flavours.
Service was pretty average considering they weren’t busy. Food ok but didn’t enjoy the lamb.
Came for Easter long weekend. They called early on the week to advise it was going to be bar menu only and asked if I was ok with it. The person said he'll send the menu to me via email so I can browse and then get back to him if we wanted to dine still. No menu was received. Received another call instead to confirm booking. I confirmed it anyway.
Upon arrival we were greeted and was told we could sit anywhere. We chose to sit outside. The staff did not provide a menu and so I went to get one myself.
We made our order at the counter and was given plates at the counter which I had to bring to the table myself. I was a bit annoyed as there was a 10% surcharge for public holiday but it didn't equate to the actual service level received.
Dumplings - good taste overall
Katsu Sando - poorest Sando I've had, chicken was dry
Chicken katsu burger - was ok. Said it came with fries but didn't say what fries and I assumed it was just standard french fries. I actually ordered sweet potato fries on the side. The staff did not even advise to say there was two servings of the same fries.
Ordered 2 lemon lime bitters but it came with soda instead of lemonade. Not cool.
Overall, pretty poor experience. Spent $80 for what would be $50 better off at Macca's Won't come again. Expected better for a "high class" restaurant.
I was a bit disappointed with the overall dining experience. For a fine dining price tag, the dishes were small and the flavours were lacking and despite the name koomo (cloud), all we could see was the side of another building.
Great staff and service, the Wagyu dish from the Starters menu was our favourite. Beautiful views of Adelaide. We will be back soon!
Amazing Food!! Loved the Atmosphere!! Will Definitely be returning!!
Refined and classy place, amazing views and super tasty food
Great food with lots of options to accommodate different preferences. Portions were larger than anticipated so great place to share a few dishes. More families than anticipated but still a good date night spot with beautiful views when you request a table by the window!
Lighting in the restaurant felt like I was in an office building during 9-5 hours. Dim the lights to create some ambiance please.
Food was okay but portion sizes were tiny and didn’t facilitate share plates well.
Really disappointed after looking forward to this visit. Wine on list not available. Had to try and get someone's attention for a drink.
Was such a contrast to the service at the hotel bar which was exceptional.
An absolute delight of a restaurant! Staff went out of there way to make sure we were happy. Food was amazing : )
We booked our anniversary dinner at the restaurant 2 weeks in advance specifying it was a special night. When we arrived we were sat at a thin wall bench with hard stools for seating like a street food restaurant. Pretty disappointed by that. Within 3 minutes of sitting we were asked if we were ready to order food. So after that I made a complaint about the table and the manager accommodated us by moving tables half way through our delicious (but expensive af) entrees. We were approached by 2 different servers who were contradicting each other. Our mains were cold (and also expensive af).
Breakfast was chaos in the restaurant. Seemed to be stretched by not enough staff and the fact the buffet had to be served by staff due to Covid 19. Queues of unhappy people with staff rushing around in near panic whilst chefs could be seen handling food with the same fingers they were dinging bells. Tables were so close together you could hardly walk between them. It was actually madness and the dining room radiated tension. Couldnt wait to leave.
Messy, poorly managed, expensive. Wont be returning for just a few tasty entrees.
The starters were ok but the mains were well below par. I think Koomo caters for an Aussie palate as it lacked those traditional Japanese undertones.
Great atmosphere though
Amazing food! Didn't love that they charge for table water though..
Outstanding views, delicious food & sensational service.
The food was delicious and we will definitely go back to try more dishes. The staff were friendly, the decor was nice and views were fantastic.
Food was excellent. Great flavours, fresh, and well-cooked.
Table service was friendly. However, the wait times for meals was extreme and not very acceptable.
Absolutely fantastic experience dining at Koomo! Our kids thoroughly enjoyed it too. Attentive friendly staff and amazing food. Will be back.
We were excited to try Koomo, but were sadly disappointed. The restaurant was loud and echo-y and although we hoped the food would make up for this, it was nothing to write home about.
