Es war einzigartig! Das Essen schmeckt super, die Musik ist toll und das Ambiente ist sowieso der Grund warum man hingeht.
Kin toh has the most incredible atmospahere you would ever be likely to encounter. The atmosphere
Makes it a true experience.
The food was good but overpriced and extremely small serves.
The staff were good without being great.
Just too expensive. Food was really good also the service. And the location is the best thing on it.
Service and acknowledgment was terrible. The food is extremely overpriced. There are much better places to eat in Tulum.
Food was great service was ok. But not the best variety of things could have a better menu. Not worth it! The place is good only worth it in the day time and they are really anal about if you are not a guest you can’t go to enjoy the view. The waiter also started over me as I put the tip and made me feel pressured. Got mad when I miswrote a number. I corrected it and he got frustrated that it was ruined and that he had to print another one. Food was delicious drinks were great but for the price and experience not worth it
Overall it was amazing!! Requested a table directly on the beach and it was setup beautifully! Staff was quick to respond to emails and friendly as well. Food was great and got to meet the owner
No truffle for fettucine, no wine that we order. It wasn’t acceptable for this restaurant.
That was one of the best experience of our lives! Worth every dollar!
Great service and wonderful ambiance. Sunset experience is a must!
Kin Toh a wonderful reprieve!
Upon entering we were warmly greeted by several of the host staff. From the outset we felt as though we were exploring a secret treetop getaway complete with beautiful bar, kitchen and wine cellar!
While we waited only a few minutes for our table, the bartender concocted a refreshing gin drink for us to cool off with in the warm Tulum evening air.
We were then quickly informed that our table was ready, where we received excellent service from two of the staff.
Kin Toh offers a four or eight course option which we were told are smaller portions than if you were to order individually (which we did).
We started with the baked oysters which blended wild mushroom sauce, fresh black truffle and of course oysters. Backed wonderfully and beautifully garnished these come 3 to an order and I would highly recommend.
Additionally, we had the ceviche which pairs coconut apple and lionfish, with white cucumber and a sour orange emulsion. I was surprised to see lion fish as the meat base, and a spectacularly surprising way to step away from traditional ceviche. The coconut apple was a bourgeois addition but really great! Again highly recommended.
I had “The flavor of time” - Aged 28 days and coconut smoked it was cocked perfectly and came with a nice earthy potato purée and marrow butter.
My girlfriend had the “Bride between the seas” - A seared tuna in a wonderfully flavorful chaya sauce with basil oil, coriander and huauzontles.
Both dishes were thoughtfully prepared and plated! The drinks and atmosphere were fantastic and we will certainly return when we come back to Tulum.
If we had one criticism it was that the lighting was almost too dim. To the point that the wait staff carried small flashlights.
That aside you will absolutely have a fantastic meal in a unique setting!
Completely disappointed about this experience. I booked our table in advance, arrived to the venue to find out that you can just eat at the bar more authentic food for much affordable price in pretty much the same setting. They didn’t have one of the dishes I was looking forward, because the fishermen didn’t go on a sea. Appreciate that Kin Toh is trying to keep everything fresh, but they should have a fish substitute in that case. The worse was when we asked the waiter if we can take a picture in one of their outdoors private area (it was empty with no guests) she said “rather not” which I found ridiculous. Don’t make a mustake by booking this restaurant, go to the bar or the outdoors rooftop which is always open for the sun set
Super sexxxy, incredible food. Best experience in Tulum. Again, super sexxxy.
Arrived at Kin Toh for dinner and was blown away by the magical ambiance! The service was excellent!! Sunset - AMAZING!
Not many vegan options but the friendly staff made a special tofu “cheese” sauce and recommended the carrots. After dinner I was greeted with a beautiful chocolate plate wishing me a happy birthday!
Very pleased with my overall experience and I will definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area!
Thank you to all ...
Beautiful and great food. Totally made my whole trip!!
Incredible! Even gave us a tour of the place before dessert!
A fantastic diner under the stars . The staff was extremely nice and helpful.
The location is just breathtaking .
Of course there is a “fee” to be able to dine in the nest but it is worth it considering the experience
Amazing food, incredible set up and lovely service!
The staff (at the lobby and front door) are very snobby and confronting. Do not even plan to go here unless you have a reservation, as they will not let you step foot in the door! The hotel is beautiful, and very picturesque. The food was expensive but was a great dining experience (think Nobu food). It's great to go once, but I would probably never go back.
We came this last Wednesday 27th of february. It was for my fiancé birthday turning 30. I have tried to inform that we were coming for his birthday and wanted to seat at a special table, which we thought would be a nest. We came at 9pm, got our table and first mises en bouche. The starters arrived a bit too fast, i mean, our bites were not even half finished. We asked to get it a little bit more slow, to enjoy this chef menu, 10 mins later the waitress came to suggest to go for the next dish because kitchen is closing at 10. We were a bit chocked. I mean we arrived at 9. Went to the table at about 9.15. And then we would have to eat in 45 mins: 4 dishes. The food is great and the experience as well but just wanted to point some details you might adjust as it is a nice experience but also very expensive. The service could be better, in this term, as giving more attention and patience to the client. Such a restaurant could maybe offer better cutlery, skip the paper napkins, the champagne glasses are quite cheap, about the wine arrangement: it was not much at all in our glasses,...
The food was delicious and it is new savouries but it has been a little bit disappointing. Hope you will understand it and it might help you.
Have a great day,
I booked a reservation for a special birthday dinner, but wasnt able to get a table during sunset, which was a shame. But that's my fault for booking too late. It was still the most amazing restaurant I have ever eaten at in my life. It's an entire experience. The waitstaff was amazing. The food, although rightfully expensive and small portioned, was incredible. But I assume people go there for the environment and the ambience. I would go back, but in the day time to be able to fully appreciate the structure.
We had a delightful dinner at Kin Toh! We arrived slightly early for our reservation and enjoyed a cocktail in the bar before being seated. Our cocktail waiter suggested that we inquire about viewing the “nest” for some sunset pictures. Thank goodness he did - the views were unbelievable! Our service from start to finish was top notch and professional, while being personable as well. The seared tuna will be a dish that I dream about for years to come. So glad that we made it to Kin Toh while visiting Tulum!
Open table had a side note that welcome champagne will be provided at our arrival - it wasn't, don't care that much about it, but if its being noted, it should be provided..at least to leave a good impression. Food was so-so...had better dinner in Tulum. Plenty of people there just for instagram posts.
It was A beautiful place. The artistry of the way it was built is amazing. We wanted to walk around and see everything but everything was blocked off with black ropes. We wanted to see the eating pods that are out over the top of the jungle and were told we could have one of those if we wanted to spend US$1000 for the two of us to eat, which was way too much food and drink for us. It all felt very contained and it ruined the vibe. Food was an 8, our waiter was very nice and we left after having a decent meal in a spectacular place that we couldn’t see!
I have never eaten in a space like Kin Toh. A short walk down a wooden path through the lush jungle and across an arching bridge brought us to the foot of a spiraling ramp taking us into the canopy above and the treetop bar and restaurant. The space is entirely wood and palm, draped here and there with netting 30 feet in the air that more adventurous patrons lay on, sipping wine and cocktails. A quiet breeze from the sea wafts over the jungle, carrying with it the scents and sensations we have come to expect from a magical place like Tulum. The humbling views of the surrounding jungle and crystal blue sea in the distance remind a City dweller like me of everything our beautiful works has to offer.
We were warmly received and seated, and our server Javier introduced himself. Javier was kind, informative and attentive. We ordered two tequila cocktails, one sour, one sweeter, and served an amuse bouche and their house bread with a remarkable coconut oil-infused butter.
The food is a fusion of Mayan and modern, local and international. We shared Roots Camouflage - wood roasted carrots, goat cheese mousse and crumbles of crispy banana flakes - and the remarkable Valladolid’s Soil. The rich combination of roasted corn, corn truffle and longanzia was the most memorable dish we ate in Tulum. It was earthy, fatty and, with the crisp corn totopos, delivered a perfect bite.
For our main course, we had a coconut-smoked, aged rib eye with potato purée, crispy chaya and marrow butter; and confit of baby pig with grilled plantain purée and local tomatoes that reminded me of how a tomato is supposed to taste. Both were wonderful and spoke to the possibilities of fusion cuisine.
The restaurant has a rooftop space, but these tables are a minimum of $500 USD, which is sadly becoming the norm in Tulum’s beachfront resorts. Javier said he’d take us up to see the space, but never delivered on his offer. Otherwise, Kin Toh was an experience we will not soon forget. We will be back.
It was intimate, romantic and the food and service were super perfect!
Excellent ceviche! Ossobuco was great and the catch of the day is a must!
Awful service, had issues with my allergy, not the seriousness and professionalism I was expecting.
Not only is the atmosphere of Kin Toh absolutely amazing, but the staff was constantly going above and beyond throughout our entire visit. Our waiter Javier, was fantastic, and so attentive. He spent time going through the menu with us to help us make the right selections, and I really appreciated that he didn't seem rushed to help his other tables. He was able to talk wit us for a while, and even give us pointers on sights to see while in town. We're also very grateful to Arturo, he gave us a full tour of the restaurant, and took so many amazing photos for us!
All around top notch experience not to miss!
Kin-toh is one of those experiences that you have once in your life. Very nice place and good food BUT US$1.000 the table for two to sit outside????? INSANE!
Kin Toh was overpriced for what you were getting. The service was really overly attentive and I felt really rushed to get through everything that was brought to the table. It would have been nice to relax and enjoy the meal rather than feeling like I was being rushed to turn the table over to the next guest. Be aware that this place is NYC prices as 2 glasses of wine and 2 pieces of fish (lowest priced on the menu) came out to ~$140 USD. I would not return as it was nothing special for that price. Also, to sit outside, we were told that there was a $500 charge...
It was wonderful. Our guests had a wonderful romantic time. Even though they were unable to see the sunset due to the fact that it was too cloudy they still had a wonderful time and the food and service was amazing!
Definitely a place to go for the atmosphere. Food was really a let down and way overpriced. Many nicer places around Tulum.
Everything about this place was incredible. How can you dine amongst the trees and not fall in love?! We came here for cocktails but stayed for dinner. The food was amazing, pricier than average but worth it in my opinion! DEFINITELY recommend
truly horrendous. do not recommend
Ein ganz besonderes Restaurant und hochgenuss für den Gaumen. Das Ambiente und die komplette Aufmachung suchen seines gleichen. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend dort
Just ok. Would be better to spend your money and special occasion elsewhere
A must visit!
Hands down the most amazing place I have ever been! The food, ambiance, service (thank you Javier!), everything was PERFECT!!
The host was rude and unpleasant but my waiter was great and polite. The food is interesting and limited. I HAD TO GO TO DINNER AFTER dining there. Portions are more like tapas View was good but OVER PRICED. would not dine there if I knew.
We successfully completed the 8 seasons’ course. Impeccable service (thank you Luis and Javier!), breathtaking presentation of each dish. Made our birthday dinner a wonderful experience! Kin Toh is definitely a once in a lifetime experience!
