A landmark experience. A dining and drinking destination. A historic tradition. Since its inception, the Kaufman House has been a gathering place for travelers, neighbors and friends. Today, Kaufman Tavern continues and updates the tradition, providing a warm welcome, restorative libations and a fun, comfortable, exquisite dining experience. The food is the real star here: a top-notch, scratch-made, local, eco-friendly and--most importantly--delicious dining experience. Our menu reflects the best of the US and the bounty of our region.     Beautiful atmosphere with delicious food. Service was slow but gladly we had no time constraints.

    Server was good but very slow. Unusual. We’ve not experienced this here before. Food was good as usual.

    Overall very good experience - No complaints. The hanger steak (my go-to when on a menu) was one of the best I've had...Super tender and connective tissues trimmed out, on a med-small cut fry poutine. SO good. Wild mushroom soup could have had a little more flavor, but still not a complaint. Smoked wings (dry rubbed, sauces on side - balsamic chili & bbq) the BBQ sauce was definitely not run of the mill - much more unique flavor while still being BBQ sauce, and the balsamic chili was an excellently made sauce. Love that they had a slew of drinks to choose from - especially Arsenal - and chocolate torte was wonderful also. Service was a little on the slow side, but they were very busy and the bartender and hostess were chipping in to run food, bus tables, etc. which is great to see, shows a well-run restaurant where the employees help each other out so everyone's experience is good - not just their section, when one of them gets in the weeds. I'll absolutely go back and hopefully try something new - but that hanger steak... MMMMMM!!!!!

    We are never disappointed dining here. The food was excellent as always, and the service was top notch. The only drawback was the noise level. It was so loud that we could barely converse. Granted it was Friday night and people were letting off a little steam, but in the future I think we will stick to mid week nights when it is less crowded.

    Such an enjoyable evening with friends enjoying delicious food, drink, desserts and the vibe of eating in the bar area. Service was also exceptional. Will definitely be back!

    We had great service when we stopped by for Sunday brunch. Overall the food was good. The homemade andouille sausage patty on the breakfast sandwich was overcooked and dry, which was disappointing but flavorful.

    Restaurant was very busy and noisy when we arrived. We had to wait a bit before being seated, but our server greeted us promptly and took our drink order. We placed our dinner order when she came with the drinks. Our appetizer didn’t come until we were nearly finished with our salads. We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and have always been happy. The food is very good and reasonably priced. I think on this night the kitchen was under staffed and couldn’t handle the number of people there.

    Nice drinks at the bar in a fun atmosphere upstairs. Ate downstairs which is quieter but that suited us. Excellent service. Great food, good interesting menu of classics. First time, we will return.

    The food is great. Had the shrimp and grits excellent. My date had the crab cakes. Excellent as well. I’ve been there many times. Always had a great meal. Service was also very good. Make a reservation for weekends it gets busy.
