Being a fan of Junior’s I was excited to try this new iteration of the team behind Junior with friends. Admittedly it was 3 January and probably the kitchen was in startup mode for the new year. Was excited to try the Duck adobo and Kinilaw. Unfortunately 5 of the dishes were not available and we resorted to some alternatives. The crudo was ok. The only vegetarian dish of cabbage was tasty. The short rib was amazing, the Pulpo was overcooked and not upto par. Service was very friendly, but the vibe was not what I was used to for the authentic Filipino street food awesomeness of “Junior”. At the price point (>500 C$ for 4 pax) there is some adjustments to be done to bring this experience in line with its price point.

A very convivial evening and the food was spectacular with delicious twists on traditional Filipino dishes. We did the degustation menu and everything was fabulous! The scallop ceviche and braised cabbage were particular standouts. Oliver was a great host. We’ll be back!

We had the 6 course tasting menu and it was delicious, such variety and burst of flavour and truly unique cuisine. I hope to be coming back here often!

Incredible experience overall! We took the tasting menu and were very pleased and amazed by the chef's creativity. Everything was well balanced and portioned perfectly for our tasting. We also paired it with a couple of their homemade cocktails. Great service! I definitely recommend!

Where to begin? This restaurant has blown me away. From the moment I walked in, I sensed that I was welcomed into someone's home. The service throughout the evening stayed that way and the staff at this local restaurant were nothing but knowledgeable and courteous from start to finish. As someone who has gone to many of our local businesses throughout the years, very few captured the essence of service the way that this restaurant did. I would strongly recommend trying their $75 tasting menu and as it gives you a good variety of land and sea. Each preparation was thoroughly thought out and used very fresh ingredients. Our attentive wait staff guided us from our first bite to our our sweet bite, without ever feeling like they were imposing themselves upon us. We had a scallop crude to start, a Filipino octopus peanut butter dish as our second, followed by a creamy mushroom pasta dish before finishing with a beautiful short rib that was tender to the bite. For dessert, an innovative churro dish topped with their homemade ube ice cream. What a delight! All the while, the ambience was that of a '90s r&b club, mixed with a upscale restaurant vibe. I would not hesitate to come again and bring my family and friends along for the ride. For the next experience, I will be definitely trying their full tasting menu of six courses. Thanks again Junjun!
