Menu very easy to understand, services was great and food was amazing 🤤🤤
Good and service was phenomenal. We weren’t thrilled for be seated at a 2 top by their parking lot which appeared to be placed there just to fit in an additional table, particularly when we were clear in our reso that we were there for our anniversary. However, the food was incredible. My husband and I rate restaurants after every visit and I can’t remember the last time we gave the food and service a 10.
Everything was great per usual. Everyone should keep in mind they just reopened and there are some bumps always.
Our server was amazing , he was from Mexico City can’t remember his name but he was passionate about the food description and his suggestions were amazing ! We had the duck and had a delicious Spanish wine . Even the dessert was unique and amazing
Underwhelming this time. Sat outside. No ambience in their outdoor seating area. Service was just ok. Cocktails were basic and bland. No garnishes. The menu seemed abbreviated, I’m assuming due to covid. The only thing that was impressive to me was the Yodel dessert. For the price of dining here I was disappointed.
As always bravo! This place never disappoints.
Back with a bang! Best ever and we’ve been here several times. Corn dog, sweet Italian peppers, pasta e fagioli, pork belly and meat and cheese board we’re all outstanding. Rocky road yodel was super fun
We celebrated my birthday here bc this is one of my favorite burgers in town. Was very impressed with the COVID measures while still maintaining a relaxed, festive atmosphere. Taylor and the crew took care of us to the T. Can’t wait to be back! 😍
The place had a great energy! Originally due to a small snafu we were seated upstairs but that seems like a totally different restaurant-- it would be good to be up there if you have a large party or needed quiet to catch up with someone-- but it lacks the energy of the downstairs.
The food and service was spectacular and Nick is the epitome of a true GM that cares about his customers and makes you feel as if you are part of the family. I will definitely recommend Juniper and Ivy as an elegant establishment to enjoy a night out and food on a whole other level! An out of body experience for true foodies!
The re-opened venue offered bigger portions, better value. Quality the highest in San Diego.
Made a reservation almost a week in advance and they stuck us on a patio table outside in the back. Having never been to the restaurant before we wanted to sit inside and experience the ambience
My favorite in San Diego!
My husband and I celebrated our 21st anniversary here. Very modern atmosphere and if you like food flavored to dance in your mouth, this is your place. They do change their menu daily but i will assume the heirloom tomatoes dish must be a favorite there. The level of attention from the staff in our physical distancing season was delivered in style.
The service was exceptional! The food was delicious and actually quite filling. We ordered 1 small bite and 2 medium size dishes. It’s a perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner or a very nice get together for friends
Love the food and the environment , a very intimate lighting
Great food, very innovative and tasteful !
Been here a few times, never disappoints. Food selection is not large but I like it that way, ensures what they do, they do well.
I love Taylor, she was the best server ever. I am glad to be able to go out and eat during this time and if you are going to dine out go somewhere good like J & I. Go there early and get the double double.
This was our second visit. Just like the first, it did not disappoint. The drinks were excellent and the Jorge steak was probably some of the best prime rib I've EVER had. We will be returning!
For the cost I personally do not think it was worth it. Due to COVID I suspect wine list was short, drink menu short. I still think it was a nice experience but I personally wouldn't try to go back.
Our second time and we definitely love it here. Chef Richard is always able to make a menu that is exciting while still performing highly on the execution.
We had all small plates and everything was beautiful and delicious. The halibut sashimi with Thai basil snow was a standout. We ate outside and enjoy that as the inside seemed a bit noisy. Good value for the quality.
Best meal I’ve had in a long time and the service was excellent during COVID.
Juniper & Ivy is one of my favorite San Diego restaurants. I love the fresh seasonal flavors and how they keep some of the classics but will give them a new twist. There hand crafted cocktails are superb. Every time I eat at J&I I am blown away by new flavor and texture combinations. I can’t saw enough good about this place!
Appetizers selected were the ceviche tostados, shiso wrapped spicy tuna and the buttermilk biscuits...all were phenomenal (highlights: crispiest shiso leaf I have ever had and the strawberry jam with the biscuits( ...top notch!
Small plates selected were the peppers (too spicy for me) and the burrata (an odd mix of corn and burrata, another dish where quality ingredients and simplicity pays off). I’m a fan of great ingredients and a lighter hand in the preparation. Both of these dishes fell short of the J&I standard...but were better than my least favorite dish.
Main courses were the sea bass and the schnitzel. The sea bass in the corn purée was extremely delicious. My least favorite dish was the schnitzel...I love Schnitzel...I blame myself for not understanding that all the items would be on the schnitzel including the hot cojuchong...to me a beautifully cooked schnitzel was ruined.
Desserts were wonderful, yodel and honey tart...Service was great (with some delays) and the CdP wine was excellent. For the price, this was not my first time dining at J&I ...I know they can do better.
Food was delicious. Our server was amazing and the manager was great too!
I love this place, every time its gets better!
We’re coming almost every weekend and it’s never disappointing.
The only thing I would highly suggest is to bring up the volume in the music I think minimal techno music would work perfectly with this place.
Other than that this is the best restaurant in San Diego!!!
We were so excited to eat at Juniper and Ivy. We were sat right a way. Our waiter was very lost(like it was his 1st day). We ordered a drink simple 2 ingredients. He brought us something else. My kids were offered noodles from the kid menu and gnocchis showed up! The whole order and delivery was poorly orchestrated. Very disappointed. Food was good (not wow) good flavors. Drinks were good. But service was poor.
Birthday. Called in advance to have the duck for 2 saved for us. They did and it was delicious.
Very pleasant dinner. Great service, ambiance ad of course food. It felt like old times. Can’t wait to go back again.
We live juniper and ivy.... we come for all of our family celebrations and this one was our daughters graduation from Stanford. Everything was amazing. My favorites was the fish chowder and the yodel!
Food was only ok, definitely not the Bib Gourmand experience we expected. Service was decent. Drinks were very good. Atmosphere was alright, decor was cool but there was metal(?!) playing. Odd choice. Very inexpensive, so wasn’t too nonplussed about the whole thing.
Great service from Sage!
Came to Juniper & Ivy for our anniversary. We were greeted by every staff (hostesses, GM and our server) with a ‘Happy Anniversary!”- even our menu had it. Our server Sage was very sweet and knowledgeable. We shared 2 small bites, 2 plates, and 1 entree. After our meal we were given an Oreo dessert on the house because of our anniversary. The staff at Juniper & Ivy went above and beyond for our special night. We’ll definitely be back!
It was fantastic, fun and refreshing! They were very kind and welcoming. Great change of pace during this pandemic!
We really enjoyed the entire experience and can’t wait to go back!!
Food was amazing. The manager and waitress were both nice but the hostesses were not the best. She was rude on the phone and the person who took us to the table couldn’t make any decision by herself in accommodating table requests.
We had a wonderful experience with Nicole and Jesse serving is.
