Ambience was lovely, the decorations are lo-key and sophisticated. Our server was very pleasant but apparently new at the job. Service was slow. We waited about 20 minutes before she took our drink order. We placed our dinner order at that time and both of us ordered oysters as an appetizer but she thought we only wanted 1 order of same so my husband’s appetizer came after our dinner was delivered.not a big deal but timeliness could be worked on. I see a lot of potential for Johnny D’d and I hope it does well. I would go back again.

Restaurant is dark and needs an interior update. The service was horrible. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 bottles of wine, along with our entrees. As we talked, our entrees appeared with no appetizers or wine! When I questioned our server, she said she forgot the apps and the wine. We later learned that it was her 1st night. Ok she gets a pass but the management team does not. Why was she left alone with a table of 6? The food was ok, not great and it was fairly expensive. This was a dinner with clients and it was embarrassing to say the least. I can say that we probably won’t be back.

I know this restaurant location has been difficult for many venues. The menu has no continuity. It’s all over the place. It needs to focus on one palette and hone in on those recipes. We had about 15 items and none of them were great. The owner and waiter were nice but the waiter did not seem well informed or a supporter of the food. Rather sad.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Johnny D’s, and it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant itself is stunning, with a beautiful ambiance that is perfectly complemented by the live pianist, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere. I started my meal with the sweet and spicy bacon starter, which was crisp, flavorful, and absolutely perfect. It set the tone for the rest of the evening. For the main course, I opted for the dry-aged New York strip steak. It was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor – truly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The staff at Johnny D’s were incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. Their attentive service added to the overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend Johnny D’s to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a gorgeous setting. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great night out, Johnny D’s is the place to be.

The service was great, very accomodating. We had the French Onion soup and the Lobster Bisque, both were amazing. We also had the prime strip and the aged strip. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Hello WNY'ers ... we dined at Johnny D's last night (old, warm memories of E. B. Green's/The Hyatt), and we highly suggest visiting this restaurant! Delicious, enticing food, top-notch service, and coooooool ambiance! Varied apps/entrees and walking distance to most theaters . . . must visit again and taste more!!!

This was our first visit to johnny D's and likely will be our last. This is a hotel restaurant with a limited menu and very limited wine list. We were seated on arrival and had intended to eat outside but the outside tables did not appear to be set-up and we decided to eat inside. When we were seated, the restaurant was half-full with customers. Our server was a pleasant young woman who appeared somewhat new in the position. We ordered appetizers and drinks that were delivered promptly. The food overall was satisfactory but not outstanding for the price. I requested a second glass of wine but the server probably forgot about it. After waiting about 15 minutes, I asked the server again and she promptly provided the second glass but it was after I finished my meal. The most annoying part of our experience was the loud music by a pianist who was also singing. We were not able to carry on a conversation without talking very loudly. It should be noted that the pianist was very good but way too loud. She did not need any amplification in this relatively small restaurant. My wife and I enjoy music; our son is a musician. However, it was not pleasurable listening to the loud music continuously. This needs to be toned down. Suffice it to say that this restaurant will not be on our future list of dining out places.
