The setting and scenery was great as usual, food was very nice and so was the wait staff.
The service was terrible and clearly inexperienced staff. The food was ok. They are wasting such a prime position!
The service was terrible. We were shown to the table where our guests were already waiting. No drink menus or water were provided to the table. We also had to request water from the wait staff 3 times before we received it. The wait person commented on how terrible the service was. However the apology did not improve the service.
There was also no air conditioning so on a 35 degree day it was very hot and sweaty. We did not stay long after finishing our meals.
Absolutely beautiful breath taking ocean views with a spectacular sunset.
Food amazing and delicious and beautifully presented.
Lovely staff and friendly, quick service .
The only thing ,it was an extremely warm night and NO AIR CONDITIONING,which made it very uncomfortable, was hoping to have dessert but we left as was too hot.
Still loved it and we will return xx
Ok i hate doing such a negative review but it was one of the worst meals from the outset. Ordered drinks to strart and had to remind a waiter 15min later. The menu was not what i read on the website. The menue was pub food at best. I ordered chilli muscles as a burger was not worth getting a babysitter for only to be told that our waiter should have told us that muscles were not available. So a pizza and fish and chips it was. My wife left most of the fish and what i did eat of the pizza i had to eat with a knife and fork because it was so soggy. $118.00 I wont be going back.
Not as good as the old Indiana Teahouse. Service very slow. Not much good for vegetarians or vegans. Chicken very good and mussels. The sauce with both were good. Wine list limited as far as WA wines are concerned. But the view is to die for.
Great food! Great service and a lovely setting....we go there often!
We chose Indiana for a 'special' wedding anniversary. We were given a nice table and couldn't fault the service which was friendly and prompt.
Main problem was with the pan fried barramundi. My piece was nearly twice the size of hubby's. He'd obviously got the tail end so I gave him some of mine! This dish (not a plate) cost us $36 each, hardly worthwhile when there was so little else in it except a small bit of shaved something or other with shredded lettuce and heaps of sauce. Dessert was tasty. Both our coffees were luke warm. We didn't complain because it would have broken the spell we were trying to create!
We have been to Indiana a few times with our 100 year old lady who loves oysters natural. Indiana always has very good oysters and the staff always give her the attention and respect she loves.
The views from the restaurant are very good; there is always something different to see.
Beautiful location but that was about it. We arrived and waited for over five minutes for anyone to greet us or show us where our booked table was. Lack lustre food, non attentive service and pricey considering the quality of the meals offered. It would seem that as they have always done over the years, the place trades on its location yet trains and pays its workers poorly. The food was flavourless and oily and I had to apologise to my guest for booking the place, telling him that I brought him there primarily for the view. Disappointing and I don't think I'll ever go back.
The location, setting and views are excellent. The menu is somewhat limited and the food is Ok but not fantastic. The waiter at the front counter was very friendly but the staff member who served us at the table was a bit abrupt.
A bit anti-climatic. Service was mediocre, food was incredibly disappointing.
Great food, lovely staff who were very accommodating for our varying special needs with food including vegan, nut allergies and just plain fussy. Food tasted freshly prepared, lovely iconic old building with amazing views. Child friendly staff, who went out of their way to make things not even on the drinks menu.
Delicious food and fabulous wine list to enjoy while taking in a beautiful sunset and view.
Great food and position for a special meal
A lunchtime meal with my wife was enjoyed very much. Food was very good, service was friendly and efficient. A nice day was a bonus looking out over the ocean.
Loved the food and the service here when we dined on a Saturday night. Perth often lacks in both these areas however the Indiana didn't let us down.
What a great venue, been some years since I was last at Indiana but must say we thoroughly enjoyed our meals - a good balanced selection, sensible wine list and the service was friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
The view is magnificent, love the character of the venue.
Food was fabulous - interesting variety and great to do share plates.
Terrific Gluten free options.
Overall a fabulous experience.
I was disappointed that I made the booking online and commented that I was bringing my son who had Type 1 diabetes and do they make any diabetes friendly desserts?
The person who looked after our table was very accommodating but it was a shame that my message was not relayed to the restaurant when I made the booking, therefore they could not cater to his needs at the last minute. Lack of communication through the online booking service?? I had been there 2 weeks prior and loved the restaurant.
We were visiting from Melbourne and had it recommended by other visiting Melbourne foodies. The décor is inviting, the scenery beautiful and the food lived up to its reputation. However, I had to ask twice for table water and to have the candles lit. The wait staff were generally inattentive. The food was wonderful and although the scallops were cool when served that did not deter from the taste. Yes, we would go back and yes, we would recommend it to others.
Dined for lunch on a Sunday as a party of 6 adults for a birthday. Quality of the food was quite good however a bit overpriced. Customer service was pretty much non existent, almost impossible to get a drink with our meal. Ordered drinks, but 15 minutes later (no exaggeration here) eventually managed to get someone's attention to follow up on our drinks order. Same thing happened every drink order, not once were we checked upon when glasses were empty for another round either. Dont recommend.
Simple yet offers all you need.
What a fabulous restaurant, location is breathtaking with amazing views of Cottesloe beach.
child friendly and very accommodating to our needs for high chair, pram space etc and the waiter staff were so lovely to our kids to make sure they were happy.
service was exceptional, food was so yummy and more than exceeded our expectations in terms of taste and size.
Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion, they have achieved a high level of excellence on every level.
Our team thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and view. Great spot to bring someone special to, especially if they are not from Perth.
fabulous venue, fantastic view, and good food and service, Really had a lovely time
Lovely spot for nice meal with friends. Really affordable great selection. Definitely go again
Good place to take overseas/interstate visitors however I personally was disappointed this visit with the food...steak meal was ordered medium and was mostly 'rare' and it was, at best, served 'warm' on a cold plate. It was a cold night and is a possible challenge to serve piping hot.....but....it was really less than terrific and the steak was a bit 'chewey' ...I would have expected much more tender...considering the fact that it was served more rare than medium.
Absolutely amazing! We have already planned a return visit! Cannot wait to go back.
We were a little hesitant booking 'Indiana' as we'd heard that the food was good, but the service was a bit hit and miss. We had a lovely lunch here, it has beautiful ocean views over to Rottnest and the interior is rustic and relaxing (although the window table ledges perhaps need a good clean). The barramundi was delicious, the pizza very good, the chocolate tart dessert a good finale - although, if we were being really fussy, perhaps too many things going on on the plate!
there was a person on a keyboard and singing which was not very good and far too loud for this type of restaurant and definitely not what we expected. As a table of four, we were shouting at each other and often could not hear our own conversation. It seemed strange that on a night that wasn't very crowded, they chose to seat us at the same end of the loud bad music when there was plenty of room set away from the noise. Had we known in advance we would choose a different venue
Beautiful venue good food great service have several times and would highly recommend dinning with friends or just as a couple reasonably prices.
Overall a bit disappointing
Beautiful setting but disappointed when we ordered the fruit juice mix it came to the table in a plastic bottle. For the price charged I expected it to be fresh made.
Service was impeccable and the food was amazing if a little overpriced
Great food but the premises were very run down, tired and dirty - the place needs a thorough clean ! In fact it was gross would not recommend.
A very enjoyable place, with wonderful views on the Indian Ocean. A must try for its location and character.
We dined at Indianas to celebrate our sons 21st birthday. The food and service were excellent. The chef was able to modify dishes to accommodate gluten free requirements for a friend. I would highly recommend it.
The view is wonderful over the Indian Ocean. Go, if you must, before it gets dark. We have always commented that this place ought to be the absolute jewel in Perth's dining crown. The location is one of the very best. It would be fitting if restaurant could match that, but it does not. The service is passable, although a longer wait than ideal for our drinks to arrive. The menu is a bit terse for main courses. For example there is no lamb and the only beef is flank steak.
To start we shared deep fried calamari which were still dripping with oil, rather than being light and crisp. My partner had a mixture of Turkish bread (very good), green salad (very plain, heavily dressed) and grilled 'chorizito'. These small sausages were quite bland in comparison with a full blooded chorizo. I had the flank steak, which is often tough unless good quality, marinated, tenderised and cooked with short intense heat. This was tougher than usual and not much of a Saturday evening treat. Usually, there is one all singing all dancing steak on a menu that people can grab if they feel in the mood. They need a better steak than this on the menu. The steak came with little, but a firey jalapeno sauce and some corn. I had a side of chips which were very good crisp chips. They were advertised as a "bucket" and that's pretty much what arrived. We certainly cannot fault the generous portions, but the quality of the ingredients and the execution was below par. Drinks-wise a very pleasant cab sav and a really good elde-rflowery sav blanc. Finally, one test of a restaurant is a clean table. Ours was sticky and so were several others we tested. This is just not good enough. If the tables really cannot be wiped properly, use nice crisp white table cloths. The food and 3 glasses of wine totalled $142. That is pretty expensive considering the quality. We can only assume most of it goes on rent or excessive profits. There is good quality competition for Ocean View dining. We shall use it.
