Sitting at 36 Castle Terrace, and a nine minute walk from the spectacular Edinburgh Castle from which it takes it's name is Il Castello. With a menu boasting traditional dishes such as calamari fritti, lasagne and carbonara alongside a wide variety of pizzas, this small restaurant has been serving up Italian classics to the people of Edinburgh for the past twenty five years. Located in the West End area of Edinburgh this Italian restaurant, with it's bright interior provides both a lunch and dinner service for tourists and locals.

We were a party of six, eating before the theatre. Experience was excellent: lively but not too noisy, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable service, good range of dishes at a variety of prices, authentically Italian (so far as I can judge). Very enjoyable meal.

What a fantastic find! This is a small cozy sophisticated restaurant with some of the best Italian food ever. The young lady chef is superb and the ambiance is fantastic. Great for regular everyday dining serving great pasta or for that special occasion. The manager who is from Italy makes the place lovely and knows every thing about Italian food and the wine list!!! We were soo very lucky to try this great place! N

Really pretty mediocre food. Very noisy. If you're on vacation in Edinburgh you should try to find a better place to have dinner.
