Hy's Calgary es la última adición a la familia de restaurantes de alta cocina Canada's Premier Steakhouses desde 1955. Con líneas limpias y texturas de cuero, terciopelo, cálida madera y piedra, este restaurante es una versión moderna de la tradición clásica en filetes.     The food was exceptional. We had their famous cheese toast, table side ceaser salad, black and blue ahi tuna, table side steak tartare, and beef wellington. We also tried three of the deserts: cheese cake, salted caramel creme brule, and the table side bananas foster... everything was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious! To top all of that, we had an incredible, charismatic and thoughtful waitress, Kim. She made what was already going to be an amazing Sunday dinner, even more amazing! I forget the gentleman's name that made our bananas foster, but he was top shelf as well.

    Best steak I had in a very, long time. A fellow diner said it was best steak ever. This was our first visit to Hys and it was a real treat, although, as one would expect in the holiday season, quite busy. Despite that, our waiter was very attentive and informative. Two of us ordered the steak Neptune, and we both felt that some (not all) of the potatoes were slightly undercooked/hard, but not so much that it marred the experience or that we were unable to enjoy them.

    The main meal was ok, my guest ordered a $64 dollar filet medium rare and it was blue rare. I allowed my self to be up sold on their signature caesar salad with their home made dressing and the lettuce looked like it was prepared last week, it was brown and wilted. I had a steak sandwich ordered to medium rare which was good. I normally have great meals here and you are paying for the consistency and a high class dinning experience. It was underwhelming Dec 2nd for a business lunch meal. Total bill for 2 people was $165.26 plus a $30 tip so $200 for 2 people. The service was good!

    I took my family party of 9 to Hy’s to celebrate my father’s 76th bday to the tune of $1632 including the $261 gratuity included. I expected my normal excellent experience with perfect food and service. My wife ordered the 8oz filet med. rare and I ordered the 24 oz dry aged rib steak med rare to share with my son. We tried to save room for desert. My wife’s filet came out blue and I mentioned to the server that it’s not cooked to order, and he graciously had it cooked a little long at my wife’s request. I expect better, but not a huge deal. My $200 rib came out on the rare side (I like rare it’s okay just not perfect for $200) but it appeared like it had been cooked at lunch and kept under warming lights. We had the kitchen slice it to share and they must have had it finished cooking first and sliced it and put it under a heat lamp or into a warmer. Med Rare should be juicy, the surface was dried out and it had been discoloured due to being cut and left so long. I did not mention it, or send it back as our timing did. It permit a re-fire and I did not want a scene at my family bday dinner. Normally when I go to Hy’s it is excellent, it seems that Sundays they took a break and the quality was poor. I will not go in a Sunday in the future. My steak should have never made it out of the kitchen and I think that this was likely due to the head chef having the night off.
