Delicious food and great service. We live in Texas but come here every time we are in town.
We ate outside because the weather was lovely and were pleased that we were seated quickly. The menu has something for everyone, and I chose the Steak Merlot which was a small filet mignon with a rich wine sauce and asparagus alongside. The steak was cooked perfectly. I noticed that there was Pavlova for dessert, an interesting option since I had never had it. I was not disappointed. You won't be either.
This is probably one of the most high end restaurants in Escondido, and it was pleasant. We only had the chicken pot pie, french onion soup, pork shank, and pork cutlet. All were fine, if pretty salty. I was hoping I would love it, so I could make it my go-to for a nice dinner, but at $60 per person without wine (including tip), I'd prefer someplace not quite as high end but with better food.
If you're trying to impress a date, it's a good choice, though.
Absolutely the best steak I have ever had! They put Happy Anniversary on our menus, which made the night even more special. This is my new favorite restaurant.

It was great - we had an early reservation and thoroughly enjoyed our evening - only disappointment was that the Duo of Gtench Onion Soup. And Filet French Dip sandwich wasn’t on the menu - it’s one is mr favorites!
The food and service were fantastic! Each of us had a different entree and they were all delicious. Had the strawberry rhubarb cobbler for dessert, great choice!
We loved our appetizer and salad, were semi disappointed with our entrees and very disappointed with our desserts. The service was great, but our table outside was lacking ambiance (it was tucked around the corner from the patio area and in full sun with no shade).

Went here for Mothers Day. Arrived early and sat at the bar. They had every known concoction and spirit but pricey. The bartender was a hoot, funny and friendly. When we got our table, they handed us a price fix menu, not the one on their website. The 3 course meal was pricey but tolerable at $65. First two choices were some vegetable vegan plate or an extra $20 for a steak. That forced everyone in the place to the only real option--half a chicken on a bed of stuffing and who knows what. Definitely not worth the money. The caprese salad was great when I figured out what it was. It came in a wine glass with different tomatoes, cheeses, and garnishes. That was fairly good. If they had their regular menu, I would have been much happier. But whoever constructed this list of options failed. They should have had a 4th "second course" option.
This is one of our favorite restaurants and we have never been disappointed. - however our experience Saturday was very disappointing - my entry - the stroganoff which is usually excellent was to inedible- the meat too tough and fatty - my daughters choice of beverage was a unavailable as was her entree choice - the staff did all they could to make up for everything else
Wonderful food, prepared with attention to detail and creativeness. All the staff were warm and attentive. Felt like a family. The onion soup was not to my taste and rather overpriced, but everything else was top-notch and the strawberry rhubarb cobbler with frozen creme brulee was a fabulous ending.
The last time we went before this most recent time....we said "We need to come back" Life happens it was several months and we finally came back. It won't be several months again! We now have a new Escondido #1. The menu is eclectic and you have both restaurant "Sides" to choose from, Vincent's and Flying toad. Wild cocktail offerings and great wine list!

Amazing outdoor dining on the sidewalk. Heater worked, keeping me warm and toasty during dinner. Musician who plays on Thursday night , Mike McGill, was talented and memorable. Menu is full of unusual choices for food and drink, from Thai red pepper and coconut soup with wild mushrooms to house-made chicken pot pie and interesting bar drinks and beer and wines. Indoor dining is also available now here in San Diego County. Imagination works here, in a good way.
Parking can be an issue, so ask when you reserve. Dog friendly in outdoor dining.

We’ve dinned here before a few times and enjoyed the measles and service. This time was a different story. Hardly any snail butter or herbs with the escargot. The pequillo peppers were really good. The service was lack luster and they seemed to be struggling. Hope this was a one off.
There were 4 in our party and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the short ribs and I am still thinking about them. My husband had the duck, and the others had the pasta special and all were happy.
Chicken pot pie needs a new recipe, the pastry rubbery and the sauce gluey, way too thick. Bisquit had too much baking powder, could taste it and utterly drowned in butter. The entire recipe needs rethinking, find a replacement and think lighter handed. The salad was excellent however as was the soup.
The place wasn't very crowded and everything was very nice. The guy playing music outside was good and we could hear it inside just right. The food is always great.
Our cocktail excellent. However, my salad was missing two key ingredients; my husband's dinner was cold (should have been hot). Server never properly trained to handle as many tables as he was assigned...and think 5% service charge is a little steep. Will not be returning for a long, long time.

We have eaten here many times in the last year, and it’s always been pretty darn good. We went last weekend and were thoroughly disappointed, my wife’s $24 cheeseburger was not up to par, I don’t begrudge the cost of quality ingredients I just want them to shine when used. I had the “famous“ chicken pot pie, which wasn’t very famous in my opinion. The puff pastry crust was soggy and flexible, there’s a blurb on the menu I’ll paraphrase that states they take longer to prepare food because everything is prepared fresh. There’s no way that chicken pot pie was prepared fresh. The worst part of the evening was the waiter, a chap with the cuffs of his Levi’s rolled up. I had to ask him twice for every request, and he never checked with us to see how our meal was, he acted as if we were an annoyance rather than a customer. In fairness I will say we’re never had this experience there before, but we are not sure we want to go back at this point. Also the menu last summer was tremendous, and the menu when we went last week was just not interesting, it seemed lackluster as far as content. To me it was almost as if Chef was taken ill or out of town and the helm left unmanned. I’m at a loss with that as an explanation anyway, in spite of someone missing, the rest of the crew would be expected to rise to the occasion and deliver. Our next visit will definitely make our clear our decision between loyalty to great food or onto the next good thing.

The food is good, don't get me wrong. Based on the food, I would go back in a heartbeat BUT this is my second time trying this restaurant and both times they sat someone without reservations at a table even though I had a reservation. Both times now they told me that I would not be able to eat inside, even though my reservation was for inside as the person before me, who did not have reservations BOTH times, was seated in there. Now how do I know they did not have reservations, because I was standing in line waiting to be seated. The first time when this happened I thought it was poor planning but the second time, I am thinking they have no idea how to seat people. Both times I was made to feel as if it was my fault, even after I showed my reservation. What really made us upset this time- there was only 3 tables occupied inside the restaurant and all three were literally in one corner! The host told us every other table was reserved so why was one not reserved for us? Fast forward an hour and a half when we finished dinner and the same 3 tables were the ONLY tables with people! So as much as I enjoy the food, there are too many restaurants to be treated as if you are inconsequential. People make reservations for a reason!
Food was okay. The pot pie didn't agree with my husband's stomach. The rabbit was fine.

My first experience there was on their brand new Dinner/Tasting event..... From entering the restaurant thru the evening and paying the bill, everything and everyone was just stellar! Divine night
This restaurant is like a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Escondido. We did the supper club dinner with the Strawberry Day theme and the food was outstanding! I’m still thinking about the food two days later lol! We enjoyed a 5 course dinner with every dish sharing strawberry as an ingredient but the diversity of flavor was creative and so delightful. Hard to say what my favorite dish was, but probably a tie between the duck breast and leg duo paired with a strawberry citrus sauce, and the strawberry salad with pork belly, avocado and borrara. The chocolate soufflé with strawberry whipped cream and warm chocolate sauce was amazing too. I am excited to see what they come up with for the next supper club. Definitely going back and highly recommend!
Brandon Hunsaker is a wonderful chef and creates amazing dishes. His food never disappoints!
Hunsakers at Vincent's is consistently delicious food, thoughtfully prepared and planned. The service was really great at our Sunday Supper Club dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed this prix-fix meal and look forward to many more.

It was busy on Friday night and the bar was overwhelmed. The cocktails we ordered were delivered after the food was on the table. The food was excellent but the noise level very high.
It is not the right place if you want a quiet conversation with your partner.
Otherwise service was attentive and friendly.
One of the most surprising and delicious restaurants I’ve been to in some time!
