Prices were on the expensive side, which would be fine except for the fact the quality of the food preparation was only average. The size of the foie gras appetizer was ridiculously small, consisting of maybe two very small bites for 350 pesos. Also, our waiter took care of tables all over the restaurant instead of working in a specific area, and he rarely looked at our table while working the tables that were far away from us. At one point we had to start waving our arms to get his attention. This is not the type of dining experience I would expect from a restaurant with a large kitchen staff, lots of waiters and high prices.
Amazing food and top-notch service. Highly recommend to anyone wanting an excellent non-touristy experience.
Hector is a truly talented chef and every course was amazing. The octopus, tortellini and the duck were fantastic. The desserts with the wine pairing was not to be missed. Excellent night at Hectors Kitchen!
Our family really enjoyed our dinner at Hector’s Kitchen. We were very impressed with the staff. Hector, himself, came out to thank us for coming.
From our amuse bouche to dessert, all of our plates were delicious and well seasoned. The crispy octopus, ahi tartare and fois gras apps were stand outs.
The pork belly confit entree was fantastic. Perfectly prepared with a mole that was extremely flavorful. Three fish of the day options were offered. The local red snapper was plated with braised fennel and roasted cherry tomatoes. Every bite was enjoyable.
Don’t miss desserts were the chocolate mousse which was encased in a firm chocolate casing. A combination of mouse and raspberry sung with each bite. Additionally, the creamy guava compote was very tasty and paired uniquely with a milk carmel ice cream that was silky.

Hector’s kitchen is one of the newest restaurants in Punta Mita. Located conveniently downtown near the Punta Mita complex. Food and atmosphere was top notch. Started with tuna tartare and tempura oysters. So good. My main dish was steak. Cooked a perfect medium rare. My family also enjoyed their dishes and they accommodated my young daughter with pasta. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful dinner at Hector’s Kitchen while on vacation in Punta Mita. Our waiter Louis was such a joy. He was well versed on the menu and was very helpful in his recommendations for dinner. The restaurant only opened four months ago but you couldn’t tell at all. The service was impeccable and the food was great. I would recommend the Sweet Potato tortellini, Tuna tostada and Pork Belly. Honestly though you probably can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. We loved everything we ordered. We will definitely visit again next time we visit. Thank you Hector’s Kitchen for a lovely night out!
Fabulous place. Our waiter Roberto and the manager could not have been nicer and more attentive. The owner and chef Hector came out from the kitchen to thank us for dining at his restaurant. He was a chef for many years at the Four Seasons prior to opening up his own place. He is VERY talented and the food favorably compares with the best New York City restaurants that we frequent. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant and wish Hector and his staff the great success they deserve.
We will go back!

Very classy sophisticated dining. Nice change from all the regular spots on the beach.
Prices were up there but quality of food and creativeness were worth.
My only complaint was pretty noisy although full restaurant and pour was very light on glass of wine.
We will be back though.

Hectors is an excellent restaurant on par with tuna Blanca and a step above si señora. It’s a new place tucked underneath the massage spot on in the strip mall. Although it doesn’t have the beach front view the ambiance is exceptional and the wait staff goes to great lengths to make everyone feel welcome. The tuna tartar is best I’ve had, pork cheeks were perfectly cooked, and I couldn’t get enough of my catch of the day. We’ll be back.
Christmas dinner chef’s tasting menu was superb. Fois gras, pumpkin-butternut soup, grilled octopus with charred avocado, lamb chops with baby beets and hummus. Excellent wine choices including a Taittinger rose champagne, and a nice Cab from Oaxaca. Perfect service from this newly opened restaurant.
Wonderful service and delicious food. We are definitely going back. Warm and friendly interactions with Hector the chef who previously worked at the four season. We had 6 different dishes and all were fantastic from snuke to pork belly to ahi tuni to NY Strip. My sons loved it. Our waiter, Job was wonderful. Both the manager and hostess were also very friendly and attentive.
