Fantastic lunch for a memorable day. Lovely weather and view off the verandah. Made to feel very welcome by staff and environment. Tasty menu across four courses. Accompanying wine list was extensive and reasonable for all budgets. Favourite today was the pork belly and the wagu brisket. Highly recommend.
Great food, excellent service, fantastic views …place to go to celebrate something special !
Wonderful lunch in a marvellous setting. Appreciated being asked to move to a table on the verandah for dessert so we could see the view.
Food was lovely - only a few minor criticisms. The size of entrees were a bit inconsistent - my partner's dish was twice the size of mine, which was disappointing because my dish was delicious!
Brisket was lovely, but accompanying Angus beef was dry and medium rather than medium rare which would have been preferred. I understand that plating up multiple serves is difficult
The desserts were OK - pistaccio icecream a bit soft, and the brulee was a slightly bland flavour.
Service was attentive and informative - wines were great.
Brilliant food which was served appropriately- great balance between attentiveness but not intrusive. The wine list was extensive (1000+ bottles) but great help directed us towards superb choice. Overall, excellent!
The service was slow.
Food was average and pasta was too salty.
The best vegetarian food I had in a while (or ever). I love that the vegetarian dishes were not an afterthought. My foodie friends also thoroughly enjoyed their food. Worth the money for sure! Very attentive staff. I was a bit nervous it was gonna be a snobby fine dining resto but we were able to relax and laughed a lot- what is the point of having a gathering when you can’t have fun no? Will definitely come back!
Our dinner was exceptional! The Sommelier was knowledgeable and recommended a great wine.
The wait staff were very friendly.
We loved the whole experience.
Wonderful food and good value for money. Will definitely be back and will recommend to friends. Had the passionfruit souffle for dessert and best dessert ever!
Good food with a large range of wines, great service and atmosphere!
Very good service. Lovely ambience and atmosphere. The premises are an outstanding destination. Very good wine list with extensive variety - priced accordingly. Food was traditional, fresh, excellently prepared, cooked and presented. Good flavour combinations.
Hi - firstly - apologies for date mix-up - booked online and thought I had booked 3rd June - somehow at venue it appeared as 8th. Manager kindly allocated a private room which worked to our advantage. Thank you. The room was perfect for a family catch-up - could hear our conversation and soak up the exquisite ambiance of a stately house. The 4 course meal was superb and service impeccable - the bar staff was superb - the dark haired barman created a Polish Blossom for me - perfection. The only thing that wasn't perfect were the potatoes served as sides - overcooked, dry and while the sweet/sour onion concoction was delicious perhaps did not ideally match the the dish. Otherwise - the evening was memorable and a delightful way to spend my son's 40th birthday - he felt special - as did we. High praise to everyone involved for running such an amazing venue. Thanks Apolonia
the management was informed that 2 of the guests ate only seafood and chicken at least 2 weeks in advance. The waitress was aware of the situation
Yet there was no chicken dish
Is it acceptable to have one non -veg choice?????
Premium price == living upto the expectations
Degustation dinner was good, but I have had better.
Superb meals. 4 course degustation with matching wines.
Had to wait for wines in one occasion which fortunately did not impact on meal. “First world problem!”
Hard to fault
Have had better food elsewhere. The wine pairing was excellent.
Excellent food and service. The ambiance and views are amazing and the nice birthday touch was very much appreciated. It is not cheap but a number one special occasion venue. We will absolutely be back.
Decadent.... with one of the best wine lists in Adelaide
Great dining experience for a special occasion. Beautiful
One of the few restaurants in Adelaide that provide service that is polite, discreet yet catering for every need, from promptness of food delivery, to clearing of dishes after course completion. Many so called leading restaurants act as if they were doing the customer a favour by allowing them to enter, and believe it is good marketing to provide slow and bad service, especially in these Covid times. However the Hardy's Verandah Restaurant is not one of these and we can expect them to be around for many years to come. If you are looking for excellent food, first class service and an enjoyable experience with magnificent views in the daytime, Hardy's Verandah Restaurant is highly recommended.
WOW what a place - despite it being night and not being able to appreciate the view it was a fabulous restaurant. The wait staff were wonderful and our meal amazing. Definitely recommend you enjoy this restaurant.
Hung the jackets of the entire restaurant on one coat rack, then proceeded to lose my husbands best jacket to another customer. Rang restaurant 2 weeks later, no jacket, all excuses, no recourse. No sense of responsibility for our loss. Nothing. Soured what was supposed to be a special night
I had the seven course tasting menu. It was delicious.
One of the best restaurants in Adelaide. Great all around. Service, food, wine list. Top marks.
Amazing food, served by friendly and knowledgeable staff in a beautiful setting
Just perfect, could not ask for any better. the staff were great, the food portions were just right, and the service was excellent, cant wait to come there again. good luck guys and keep up the good work..
It was our anniversary and we'd requested a table with a view. I had a view of a door and my wife and a view of the wall! You should have called us, knowing it was a special occasion as I'd stated on the booking, and told us you couldn't accommodate our request. Very disappointing.
The food was reasonable, but the service was terrible. Example 1: we had to refill our own water and wine glasses throughout the meal. Example 2: we were seated for 10 mins when the neighbouring table arrived, whose order was then taken prior to ours even though we'd closed the menus and left them on the table. Example 3: we waited a long time for our dirty plates to be cleared, so we stacked them ourselves. Example 4: our wine glasses were collected when we still had wine in the bottle and we had to ask for new glasses (to the surprise of the staff).
On arrival we had a drink in the bar. I ordered a $44 glass of Rockford Basket Press 2017, which was the smallest measure I've ever had in any restaurant or bar. Very poor value.
We did also note that the venue was still a building site too!
The above is not what we expect for a $500 meal (for 2). We've eaten at all the fine dining restaurants in Adelaide and this was the poorest experience and poorest value. Very disappointing particularly given it was our anniversary.
Absolutely amazing service and food quality with a fantastic sommelier
Lovely spot and service but we were disappointed in the food. It is rather expensive and food didn’t blow us away. Maybe we expected too much as it was a 3 hat restaurant.
We knew of Hardy's Verandah Restaurant by reputation, so when we booked a night at Mt. Lofty House, choosing to have dinner at Verandah was a no-brainer.
We didn't regret our choice for a single second. From the moment we were seated to the moment we left, the experience lived up to the reputation...and then some. The service, the ambiance, the meals, the wines, everything was absolutely perfect.
Fine Dining at its best. We had a wonderful dinner matched with perfectly recommended wines to match each meal. Such a special dining experience. Thank you for the amazing service too
Very good experience
Service and food outstanding
We had a fantastic meal and the service was exceptional- would highly recommend
Food is below average even though this is suppose to be great fine dining experience. The 7 course menu has been the same for many years without anything new. Steak and marinated wagu is awful. It taste salty and overcooked. Some dishes make us wonder if we are having yumcha. Not sure if they've got a new chef. Definitely not worth the time.
Fantastic experience with friendly service. Relaxed environment and definitely somewhere we would come back to.
A beautiful, memorable dinner for a special occasion. The quality of each dish was faultless with the main and dessert courses being particular stand-outs. The setting was just lovely with a view of the garden. Staff were lovely with my only (small) criticism being that the courses were explained very quickly when presented, so I missed some details.
The food was great, the atmosphere, and service were excellent and we had a very enjoyable evening celebrating our anniversary
Absolutely beautiful restaurant, the food was amazing and the service was awesome. The views are stunning if you are lucky enough to get a table near the window.
the counter staff avoided eye contact with customers from the entry. I felt so unfriendly and unwelcoming from the start. The waiter was good and food was okay. But overall, we didn’t feel like fine-dinning experience at here. Very disappointed
