I went here for my partners birthday. We reserved a “special winer wonderland bubble”. The bubble had a tear along one of the zippers, had been taped up, what looked like many times, and was still open on the street side. We waited ten minutes outside to be seated, when we were sat down we were told it would be 35 minutes for food. We considered leaving but given we’d paid for the bubble and that it isn’t easy to just go somewhere else at the moment we stayed. It too 45 min to get a drink and over an hour and a half to get our food. When we asked the second time about our food we were told it would be comped. So we stayed. When the bill came they were only giving us 10% off our food. We had an unproductive discussion with someone “in management” where we were expected to bargain for our discount and told that because we accepted the food, when it came more than 90 minutes later, that we had to pay for it as the restaurant delivered on their promise. I will never go back. It was a terrible experience on what was supposed to be a special night.
In 90 minutes we received 1 round of drinks, cold fries, and a couple of misprepared dishes. Apparently, the wifi was not working so the kitchen did not receive our orders, but we only found this out an hour after we arrived. Instead of coming over to apologize/see what could be done/etc our server opted to chat with other staff and pretend like 60 minute table times were appropriate. Most of what we did receive was comped, but the apology was lacking. Oh, and all of this happened right before close so we had no other options for dine-in food that night.
Sat outside in the igloo tents due to COVID. It was raining and cold. Would’ve been nice for the heater to be on prior to us being seated. Otherwise it was great!

Tried out this Shaw restaurant because of the outdoor seating and cute ambiance. The food quality was fair yet overpriced, and the service was also just fair. They forgot to bring drink orders and double charged us twice on the bill. Granted they were busy and we were sitting in the outdoor area which is down the street from the main restaurant. Overall, 6/10 experience.
Received a call an hour before my reservation that they overbooked and I had to cancel or change my reservation date. I booked this two weeks in advance. I feel that I should be the last on the list to receive this call or a better idea would be me not receiving a call at all. It is not the customers problem that the establishment allows people to walk in or make reservations until the day of. I was already in the area, arriving 30 min early because I had issues with reservations at this place before (see next notes). When I arrived none and tried to work something out seeing as I booked this two weeks ago no one could help me or interested in helping me. This is the second time having issue with reservation. Month ago my party arrived on time for a 5:30 PM reservation during a weekday happy hour and was not seated until after 30 minutes. Either make this place not be able to take reservations due to high demand or actually make your guest who took the time to reserve in advance to guarantee seating a priority.
As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I'm honestly very disappointed in Halfsmoke's service and attitude towards their customers. We originally made a 2:15pm reservation almost a week in advance, yet the restaurant overbooked and push our 12-person party to 3:30pm, however, not eating until almost 4:30/5pm for a BRUNCH reservation. The food was fine, however not worth such a long wait and unfriendly demeanor from the staff.

First time I went and it was amazing! My friends and I not only enjoyed the food but liked being able to play music in the bubble! Will definitely be back again!
Decent food, good drinks. I wish they came around more often for refills for bottomless. Overall, good place that I would come back to.

This is one of my favorite brunch spots when I’m in town I love the atmosphere and food! My last visit here was not so great. It was six of us out celebrating my brother’s birthday, usually we get Makensy as our server and she is AWESOME! But this time we had a girl named Lauren, not friendly, not attentive. We watched her walk by our table for five minutes, standing in a corner watching us before coming to take our order. Then she left us unattended without drinks for another 10 minutes. We finally got our first round of mimosas and then was left another 20 minutes without an offer of a refill (90 minute limit on table). Food finally arrived and she come over to check if we need anything for our meals. Finally spoke to the manager on duty, very sweet and awesome girl who tried to help us. Service still didn’t change afterwards and my brother didn’t enjoy his first experience there. Idk if she doesn’t enjoy her job or because of the fact gratuity was automatically on our check but I didn’t appreciate the experience. Possibility we will be be back but I will make sure we are NOT in her section.

We reserved outdoor seating for 6, which the restaurant expressly told me they could accommodate. They cannot. They tried to sit our party at two separate tables. When we tried to resolve the issue, the manager on duty was extremely rude and refused to accommodate us. We explained our situation and she said she “didn’t care” and invited us to leave a bad review. Here we are. Shocked at the horrible service. Definitely won’t come back. There are plenty of restaurants that value their customers.

The Winter Wonderland atmosphere was really nice. There were 5 of us (4 adults and one child) and we were seated in an igloo that had lounge seating with a coffee table, not a real table and chairs. Thankfully we brought our own blankets because it was pretty cold even in the igloos. There was one waitress for, what seemed like the entire group of igloos. She did her best I feel. The food was good but the trip from the kitchen across the street to the igloo lot made it a little cold before reaching the table. It was delivered in the aluminum chaffing pans to keep it warm and covered I assume. Overall we had an enjoyable time. However, had I known in advance that the igloo lot was not coloacted with the restaurant, we may not have gone due to these factors. It’s a nice way to get out and ensure social distance, etc during this time.
We found a hair in our crab french fries but the server forgot about us so we couldn’t communicate this to him. We had to go over to the host stand to ask for the check and pay!!! Would not recommend!
Wanted to like this place. Setting was great, however the food was late and arrived cold. Server was friendly enough, but our bad experienced seemed out of his control. Unfortunate experience and hopefully this is not a common trend.
It’s very hard to get the whole experience. Every time I have personally been there it has been a long wait until I was actually seen . Service and food is fair but when it come to customer service it can be tricky due to the seating arrangements they have there.
They had an outside winter wonderland set up, they made us wait 30 minutes to sit and another 20 minutes before we saw a server, food took an hour and came back uneatable, we asked for a refund and left.
It was awesome. A great first time experience for Valentines Day. The fried pickles and crab fries were delicious. I would definitely go back again.
I was disappointed because they were sold out of a lot of items but the food was delicious so I could understand why.
Fun igloo! Delicious food! Only issue was food and beverages came in random order - first we got entree then we got the drink that was supposed to pair with appetizer then we got the desert and then we got the drinks that were supposed to pair with entree and desert and then we got the appetizer
This was me and my sister first time at Halfsmoke and we were already talking about coming back and inviting people before we left out. The host was very nice and the waitress. Our food was great.
They charged me $87 dollars more to a new check . They never explained and why and where the $87 came from. My original bill was $382 . Then sent me a another recipient for $487 . I’m not understanding why I got charge. $87 dollars . I never experienced this before at halfsmoke. I was very disappointed

Was very good and hospitable at the beginning but she just disappeared. She never told us we were switching to a new server. It took forever for me to get all my components for my Apple a la mode pancakes. Then my sister order fries but they gave us home fries (breakfast potatoes.
I like that we were in igloos there were games and speakers where you could play your own music.
The food was delicious,
Especially the crab fries. The chef was nice, he brought my sisters home made cinnamon donuts for their birthdays on the house.
But all together it was a fun. Hopefully if I go back next time the service will be better.
My husband and I went for the winter restaurant week and were so underwhelmed. The first three courses all came out with 10 mins of each other and we never got the 4th (we left after waiting for 40mins). We didn’t feel like we missed anything though since the 4 course winter menu was bland, with almost no seasoning in the peanut soup it only tasted of watery peanut butter, bland wedge salad, and even the pot roast was soggy and mushy with the only distinctive flavor being salt.
The drinks were good, and the outside dining was a fun concept, but the poor service and worse food left much to be desired, especially at a $55 price tag per person.
We used to love their sausages but now not sure we will ever be back.
Food want that good the chicken needed to be cooked more and we booked on open table for a bubble which they had available and had several availability and they told us that they didn’t and the bubbles remained empty however they said that they had reservations coming at 8p that never showed up. The food is expensive for no reason.

Overall experience was not the best. The food was cold the restaurant was loud could not hear the waiter. The restrooms toilets were not working properly. The overall experience left a lot to be desired. The only saving grace was the lemon lavender drop martini.

Immediately had a stomach virus after eating the food. I had to run home after eating. And was sick for two days.
Enjoyed the scenery but service wasn’t that good and food came out under cooked the first time
Was seated at picnic table in winter wonderland. Went for happy hour special which includes bottomless drinks and small apps. Unfortunately the kitchen was backed up due to no fault of our server but in the two hour time frame it took 45 minutes for first round of drinks and food to come out and thanks to our server we were able to get an additional two rounds of food and drinks. Food was great was service mainly focused on customers sitting in Igloos. Had such a great time last time so left disappointed.
We made reservations for 2:15 but weren’t seated until 2:45
