Our owner, Chef Richard Hales a four generation Tampa family since 1954, is back in his hometown of Tampa after 25 years away mastering Asian cuisine, opening award winning restaurants and appearing on the Food Network; beloved by the likes of Guy Fieri. Our seasonal menu features Asian techniques using the fi nest ingredients and availability of locally sourced produces. Chef Hales’ invites you to experience eclectic ambiance, elevated service and his version of Chinese cuisine.

    I can’t say it enough… LOVE me some Hales Blackbrick! This place never disappoints. The service is top notch, the food is insane, and the ambiance is cozy and intimate. Chef stopped by and is genuinely so grateful to his patrons and proud of his restaurant, as he should be! Thanks again for a great experience!

    The food is good and packed with flavor. The service was friendly and our waitress was excellent. The restaurant itself is a little claustrophobic and the loud music compounded the feeling. Overall I recommend giving it a try and I will go back.

    We went for our anniversary. Wait staff attentive and helpful. Food was presented well and very flavorful. We will be back.

    Just went here for my first time and everything was amazing! All of the food had amazing flavor and the espresso martinis are fresh brewed espresso. I will say it’s more on the expensive side so just be prepared for a higher bill. It’s worth it though! Server was amazing to!

    First time at HB and had a wonderful meal! Service was on point. Had the Yangzhou rice, tiger shrimp, soup dumplings, pork belly, and egg rolls. All dishes were delectable! Noise level a little too high but overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

    Chef Hales and the team do an exceptional job. Really the only issue with this venue is the tables. Being a former 'old-school' diner, the tables are small. Good for a party of 2, but not good for a party of 4, especially if you're getting multiple dishes to share. The food is creative, and always prepared fresh. We had an issue with one of our entrees (a very fatty ribeye) which the server removed from the bill. Overall an exceptional experience which was diminished a bit by the cramped seating/table arrangements. Date night venue for 2- awesome. Party of 4 is a little cramped. Will be back.
