Gyu-Kaku - Arlington, VA
The food was delicious! Experience was fantastic!
Very nice staff. Especially Jane, she forgot one of our dishes but instantly apologized and gave us discount and free ice cream
Great service, food and experience! Definitely going back!
Great place for Gluten allergies! We could eat most everything and had no negative reaction (due to cross-contamination). Our waitress was super nice and helpful in advising us what to stay away from.
Food was well seasoned and delicious as well, we definitely left full.
The only minor down-side, was that it got pretty hot in there especially since we are so close to the cooking source, so perhaps setting the AC a little higher would be the answer.
Food is good and the service is exceptional! A must visit! It has become one of my favorite place to eat! Keep up the good work!!
The staff are very friendly and very helpful, and they deliver our orders, which were added during our meal, promptly. The place is not too noisy, and the ventilation is well that there is not much of a left-over smell on clothes after the meal. I highly recommend this place.
19th Bday celebration
This was one of our faves in Japan and while a bit different that those experiences, was still great food/fun time!
Great food at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend it for anyone who loves a similar type of restaurant.
We had a reservation for 4 pax. When we arrived restautant hostess showed us some notice on the desk which is we had to wait for fourth person. We told he is on the way just 5 min. they did not accept( if we make biggest reservation its make sense i can understand but eventually we were gonna sit for 4 pax table because we were already 3) other issue was id for the drink, I told them i am a turist i did not bring my passport i had an International Citizen Id ( if i can use my homecountry driver license in Usa without passport, you guys had to accept as well) anyway manager gave us a chance.
Staff was polite and doing bespoke service. They need little bit more training about meats. On the other hand almost all meat marinated same style with sasami and sweety taste. I think should be different herbs and spices and not all sasamis.
Thank you we really enjoyed i had to give this feedbacks because its my occupational illness.
first time here and it was great, we ordered a bit of everything and it was all tasty
Beef tongue is a must-have, reservation is needed to avoid waiting
Decent food, good service. Experience ruined because I wasn’t “allowed” to take the remainder of my uneaten cake (I had 2 bites) home. It went against their policy. Keep your cake. We won’t return
The service and food are very good
This was one of the most delightful dining experiences I’ve had in a long while. The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. The two of us shared one of the BBQ combos, and it was great. I will definitely be returning.
Nice vibe, & very busy
Great experience. Only negative was it felt like I was being watched while I ate. I think it was just the table staff trying to be attentive and clear the table.
Outstanding everything-food, service, value and experience. I’m coming back for more of it all.
Interesting place where you grill your food. Meet excellent.
However grilling time for different types of meet and veggie is different. Waiters just tell you this 45 sec each side. This 3 mins. This... why not to prepare a sheet with ordered items and recommended grilling time?
We had a great time with delicious food. Would be happy to come back again.
Polite and professional staff.
The service is outstanding and the food quality is very good.
We loved it. Great recommendations and service. Food was delicious. Will be back.
Good for groups and make sure to go hungry... so much food!
Nice and friendly place, the food was great but the wine list does not even mention the wine name... just house chardonnay, house pinot noir, it would be nice to know what one is ordering.
It was fantastic. I would take dates here. I’d have an anniversary dinner here. Hell the happy hour is awesome. Super cheap yet strong drinks. This is my new place to go.
This is a great place for celebrations (but not for romantic or quiet meals)! The meats were of high quality and seemed quite fresh. The fresh meat plates seem to be small at first but there were so many that came - we left the establishment quite full and happy! The appetizers were also tasty - sukiyaki bimbimbap, tuna volcanoes, fried dumplings and fried chicken. Our waiter was superb, replacing our grills twice and telling us how to cook each different cut of meat.
The meat is marinated to perfection, and the s’more at the end is a nice touch!
Really enjoyed it. Don't know what else to say to fill in 50 characters.
We thought the Samurai Course for 4 was just enough food and paced thoughtfully by the wait staff. We especially enjoyed the Miso Soup and Garden Salad which everyone agreed was more flavored and robust than the usual starters in packaged courses elsewhere. A good assortment of meats, accompaniments and drinks in a comfortable, modern setting; the only thing lacking was the one medium, flat tasting shrimp per person.
The food overall is delicious and service was great. Since it’s pay by plate things add up to be somewhat pricy, but it’s a good place to splurge. You do get good quality for your money, the meat cuts are worth it. Would recommend to others, and will definitely come back.
The place is popular so make sure to get a reservation!
Wonderful! Staff were accommodating even when we were late.
So yummy my fav place
Impeccable service! Great food, can't really complain about anything else.
Great place for good food and nice atmosphere. Group friendly and they take reservations. Staff is friendly and helpful and they change the grill frequently so that the food gets a great flavor from the fire. Depending on the size of the group, I'd recommend one of their pre-built menu items and then order more of what you love as you go.
Tables are not comfortable if you’re tall. Your knees will not forgive you for a week.
The kitchen closes at 10. We had a 930 reservation, they sat us down at 945 and sprung that on us. Service responded accordingly - they were rushed taking orders from other tables as well.
Having such a late reservation meant we were stuck by the restrooms; which was meh. We’ve been at the restaurant before and there really is no great seating at the place, so being by the RR didn’t mean as much compared to other restaurants. There wasn’t any smell or anything, but just meant more foot traffic coming by the table, so less private.
Food was good, sake was good, everything was good, but rushed.
Great service the server Zach was brilliant and we had a wonderful time.
2nd time going all the food is amazing especially the chicken teriyaki!
It was a good experience. The service is great!
The food is worth to try.
One of my favorite restaurants from California, I was excited that it finally made its way to DC. Food and service was amazing, and consistent with my experience at other locations. We were seated right away, and our server took good care of us. Ordering a lot of dishes can really add up, so no need to splurge on the wagyu beef when you can get more cuts of meat for less!
The service and quality of the meat was really impressive. All our food came out quickly and tasted great. The manager, Patrick was very attentive and stopped by several times to check in on us. This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last!
