Gong at Vidanta Vallarta
Wonderful menu and outstanding service
Very good service from Jesus. Interesting light show on water.
My wife and I had a fine dinner at the Gong. My only concern is in the future the overhead gondola might take away from the experience.
Our waiter, Jesus, was very attentive and the food was very good. We are planning to go again tonight.
The app was an epic fail. Shows ability to reserve the grilling station however that is not what you get.
The sauce that came with the excellent vegetable tempura was totally lacking of any flavor. That recipe they use should be thrown out. A good tempura dipping sauce has character - lots of flavor, minced ginger, maybe sweet Mirin wine for flavor. What we were served seemed more like brown colored water totally lacking in flavor. I have had tempura sauce for over 50 years, and this was the worst ever. It was a pity since the vegetable tempura was well prepared! We tried adding sweetener and say sauce at the table once it was served, but we could not fix a bad sauce at our table. This needs to be fixed!
Beautiful ambiance no matter where you are seated. If you are on the patio, you are treated to a fantastic light show every half hour. Service is as it should be at a high-end restaurant. Food was outstanding - from the fried rice, the miso cod, the cheese stick appetizers and bbq ribs. The best restaurant on property!
Going through the front gate required leaving my driver’s license. No explanation. Once on the property, you have to take a tram to the restaurant and then a long walk to the check in. While the location along an artificial lake was lovely, the service was snooty and the prices were ridiculous. At least 5 to 10 times the price of comparable high end restaurants. Our bill was $250 and we left hungry. The cocktails were $25 each . We ordered two fish entrees which were 55-60 each and what we got was a very small piece of fish on a large plate. They made us feel very unwelcome and we would never go back.
The food was amazing
The service was great
The outdoor seating by the lake is very cool
Extraordinary ambience and attention to detail. Food wonderful c and highly attentive service
Everything was very good that we had. The value for the money was lacking. Not very much for what you pay. Son said sushi was good. We paid over $10 for a small plate of brocolli.
My dinner at Gong was so amazing that I couldn’t stop thinking about it and had to come back the next day and order almost the same thing again. This is something that I almost never do because I love to try different dishes. I’m going to have a hard time going anywhere else for the rest of my stay at Grand Luxxe! The sushi chef there was absolutely amazing!
We were on vacation in Puerto Vallarta and really enjoyed especially the dim sum. Shrimp was very good as well as the noodles.
Food is excellent ... we make it a point to try Peking Duck each time we visit Vidanta /// it was excellent again this time around.
Music from the interior dining area tended to drown out the sounds associated with the light show ... perhaps turn the music down when the light show is on???????
We’ve been to Gong twice before and it never disappoints. We bring our children who are now 11 and 16 and they enjoy the restaurant as well. The service and food are fantastic .
Nope too expensive, the meals were small, selection was limited
Beautiful evening, great ambiance, attentive service and a chef who knows his way around Asia. We had a wonderful and diverse dinner. Sushi, bao’s, tempura, curry and rib eye. I am told the Peking Duck is to die for; sadly my husband does not eat duck. Make a reservation, you will not regret it.
Great view. The food and service was excellent. We enjoyed light show .
We booked this to be able to view laser show. Service was extremely slow which was unusual for this restaurant. Food was good.
Our waiter, Cruz was the best of our whole 2 weeks! Great kids menu, & delicious good!!! Hands down, best meal we had this trip. Thanks
We attended Gong 3 times during our 2 weeks at Vidanta Vallarta. Each time we were served by Jesus and also Eduardo. Both went out of their way to make sure the meal and service were excellent. We had Peking Duck twice, and it was excellent in taste and presentation. We will definitely go back on our next vacation.
Food was good but way over priced and portions were small. Out of eight of us most were still hungry.
Muy buena ecperencia deliciosa comida y el ambiente inigalable
The service and food outstanding! Had the duck!!
Service was excellent. Food quality very good. We shall return
Great ambient and good food
Vidanta continues to decrease the quality of food and increase the prices. Three of us had sushi because I told everyone how good it had been in past years. When it arrived we all agreed. It was some of the worst sushi we have ever eaten. So sad. High prices. Low quality. We were outside in order to see the laser light show. I think the people eating inside at the grills were having a better time.
Food is good but portions are small and expensive. The sushi rolls were very good, specially the Tabasco Roll, Dragon Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll. Yakimeshi is good but small. Kushiagues are not very good at all.
It is a nice setting and you can see the water show from the outside seating.
The service is very slow
It was a great meal. Many of the meals we had at Vidanta were salty, so we were concerned about eating Asian cuisine and requested no salt be added to our dishes and our dishes came out perfectly seasoned. The water view was beautiful and we enjoyed a nice evening. The Apple salad was a nice lighter option we all liked.
The food was fantastic. We are returning another night.! The waiters were great
Started with the apps duck dumplings (only 4) and pork belly buns (only 2) to share. Dumplings were bland this time and we have had and loved them before, and the fact only 4 come with is kind of disappointing. Generally, there are 6-8 included in a dumpling order. Pork buns were good, and wish I had another order. The braised beef was good but the veggies on the side were a joke. The ramen was ok, but to be honest the 2 pieces of chicken and what tasted like packaged “ramen” noodles from college were not all exciting. There were hardly any and they included mushrooms after we said please do not. Overall the meal was ok, definitely not as good as we remembered 2 years ago and last year in riviera maya. Unfortunately for us gong experience as wrong this go around :(
Lugar garantizado para ir a cenar con tu pareja, comida deliciosa y trato fenomenal.
We were a group of 6 sitting inside. My husband and I ordered sushi rolls. There are 8 large pieces per roll. We also ordered the asparagus roll appetizer which is delicious. Service was excellent except our waiter should have told us that we ordered way too much for 2 people. Anyway, we had lunch the next day.
Nice to sit outside The set up of the tables feels just a bit off and the service this year is not 100% attentive they do not look at your table to check in they wait for you to call someone over I think in most of the restaurants on Vidanta they require more training and more English speaking servers. Sometimes difficult to communicate. Expensive relative to the quality but we will go back .
Only disappointment was that I ordered a glass of red wine and it came chilled. I asked for one
at room temperature and was told that do not have any red wine at room temperature.
Strange and disappointing. Everything else was wonderful!
It look over an hour for our food to arrive, food was small portioned and not very good. most of the meals were cold when given to us.. food didn’t have much flavor either. took an additional 20 minutes to get our bill after finishing our food.
Outstanding meal and ambience at this restaurant. Also enjoyed water show on lake will definitely return again. We were here 3 years ago and remembered great meal we had here and return visit dit not disappoint.
The new menu and chef were fantastic. The pad Thai was excellent as was the Mahi Mahi, Hong Kong style. Great Saki too. We had a great experience.
