Bonnie's Restaurant at Glasson Lakehouse, Athlone, Ireland offers a superb dining experience, serving lunch and dinner daily. Our menu has been created by Executive Chef Dee Adamson with an emphasis on fresh, local produce and seasonal fare. Our team provide warm, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient service and are excellently versed on our daily specials and wine pairings.

Really live the place and the vibe. Service was terrible and a little unorganised. Ordered drinks and waited 40mins until I got it and was wrong. Food was ok and menu was limited. Staff were lovely, there was plenty of staff on but just not very effective. No one person designated to our table we just had to nab someone as they passed by.

Good food overall but extortionately overpriced. Burger €22 and chips €6 extra!Small piece of fish €28 and mashed potatoe side €5 extra…Veg extra €5-6 also! Bottle of non alcohol wine €35…Desserts €10!Even for two scoops of ice cream!Yikes!Praline chocolate dessert appeared to be a pre-frozen dessert prepared off site..Felt I could have bought it from the freezer section of my local Lidl!This is my 2nd time here and I have come away on both occasions feeling ripped off..Lovely dining area though with great views.Heavy bass beat of background dance music was too much for some of our group. Service was casual which is nice to some extent. No one server specifically on our table so had to answer the same questions about coffee, dessert etc even after our dessert!!!Overall, and as a regular ‘diner outer’, I would definitely not return…Poor value for money with small portions..Pricing needs to be addressed if they want to have local custom and repeat visitors.

During booking online, I informed the restaurant that my son is Coeliac and that we were celebrating a special occasion. Very disappointed to learn that only the goujons were gluten free. I also realise that the goujons were Rosie and Jims and while I am glad they were safe for my son to eat, it was astounding to me that 3 gf goujons and some brocolli (without chips) cost 10 euro. Gluten free chips/fries were unavailable. Beautiful location, but sadly will not be back due to limited gf selection.

We loved the place. We had an absolutely amazing time! The hostess was super lovely, waiters were great dealing with kids, having little chats, great at giving advice on the food options etc, service was perfect! Since we were celebrating birthday and completion of the Junior and Leaving cert exams, we received special treat during the dessert time which was a very nice and unexpected touch, it was so cute and much appreciated. The venue itself is stunning! Great vibe, amazing views outside, perfect outside seating with heating - loved every part of it. The only small downfall - not impressed with the steak. We thought it wasn’t great value for it. Most main courses were missing side dishes - we may have missed or info is not there that for some main courses you need to order sides separately. Something to consider and loom at for the management. Yet overall was great experience.

Absolutely loved everything about this hotel .the staff..we're exceptional .food was amazing rooms beautiful setting and views fantastic will definitely come back

Food was stunning last night. Pork belly and hake for adults and burger for child. Accommodated us earlier than our booking and prompt service. Would highly recommend and will return.
