Food was absolutely amazing and the drinks were fantastic. The service could not have been any better. We had the chef’s table and did the chef’s tasting. Chef Zack Close was absolutely astonishing and the food not only was excellent they all looked like works of art. Definitely recommend it.
The food was ok. Halibut was cold and not very flavorful. Duck was undercooked and sent back. Wine pours were lean.
Great experience from start to finish. Edouard - the F&B manager - was very helpful and generous in some pre-visit communication regarding some special arrangements for our anniversary dinner at GL. Our table was a terrific setting for a romantic dinner, and our server, Sara, was responsive and patient with us from start to finish. The food was top-notch: my duck was tender, and my wife couldn't stop talking about the burger. It's difficult to find a bar that knows how to make a good sidecar, but here, too, the GL was on point. Overall, a first-class dining experience. With the addition of the art gallery in the near future off the lobby, this space has the potential to be a one-of-a-kind bar/restaurant experience. Highly, highly recommended.

Great place for an leisurely evening out. Food was fine and service spot on. The decor is quirky- glam.
The burger was extremely tasty. The duck breast needed a little sweetness, I actually added some honey and it made the dish. Carpaccio was just as good as the burger! The views of the art while we ate was quite an experience too!

We had a lovely anniversary dinner here at the glass light. We shared the curried corn veloute and the green salad, both of which were excellent, for appetizers. Then for dinner I had the halibut and my husband had the chicken, both of which were cooked perfectly! The cocktails were also fabulous. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Norfolk.

First off, the staff was very friendly. However, my visit reminded me why I am not a fan of corporate-owned boutique hotels. They want fine dining to a point. When it comes down to it, it is another hotel restaurant and, for me, not a destination especially with all of the local choices up and down Granby.
While it was quiet during my visit, I could easily see it being very loud if it was crowded, The ceilings are high, the bar/waiting area (by design) might create a very loud atmosphere. If that is the vibe you want, it's perfect. If you want to have a conversation with your friends, not so much.
I won't go over the details I saw that needing improving outside of the kitchen in this review. I'll focus mainly on the food.
Technically, there were some flaws that really floored me. While the flavor was good, it didn't remind me of a place opened by a Michelin starred chef. What do I mean? #1 I had the duck. Nice crust on the outside but the temperature was uneven. It ranged from mid rare to high side of medium on two pieces. #2 Those two pieces of duck should have been three. One piece was twice as big as the other. Even cuts for cooking and presentation is culinary school 101. Makes me wonder if the duck breast was first cut and then placed under the salamander to finish. #3 the peach cobbler ($12) was between cold and luke warm. The vision I have of cobbler is fruity and hot with filling coming out the crock and the ice cream melts with it. Enjoy the contrast of fancy and rustic with cobbler - don't make it "uppity". #4 nothing was fork ready. I had to cut everything on the plate including the vegetables. The small carrots I get but the beans, etc were all kept to size.
I definitely would return to have to same dish and try others. I ordered the Joyce Farms Chicken Breast with asparagus, black trumpet mushrooms, and two crispy thigh squares served with sauce perigueux. All amazingly prepared and served. The others ordered the flounder and raved about it. The service was well-timed and friendly.

Two had the rib-eye. One looked beautiful the other looked like a Waffle House steak. Unacceptable for the price. The salad was quite good. Server was a little rushed to get us out. After dinner coffee was lukewarm at best.

We ate at the Glasslight for our anniversary. Our servers Sara and trainee Amanda were attentive and friendly as well as knowledgeable with awesome recommendations. Although the menu was limited - the choices were interesting. The crispy octopus was delicious as well as the rabbit and scallops. We will definitely dine there again!

OMG, another stellar dinning experience!!! Absolutely love the space, art, ambiance, food, and cocktails/wine list. Approachable yet classic execution of French cuisine with a local spin. The hostess who greeted us was so professional and welcoming, Sarah our server was also excellent! She was knowledgeable and offered great cocktail and wine suggestions. Could not be happier with the entire experience from start to finish.

Everything about our dinner meal was superb! My wife had the Pork-Chop "Special"; I had the Halibut--and we shared the beef carpaccio small-plate. Our server (Sarah) was attentive but non-intrusive. She could not have been more pleasant and friendly. We have dined frequently over the years at the finest restaurants of Norfolk/Suffolk/Newport News...as well as Williamsburg, Virginia Beach and Richmond. This restaurant ranks among the finest.
The food was outstanding. I had the special, which was a plum glazed bone in pork chops. It was perfect. My companion has the scallops and loved every bite. Tender and done just right. This could become a new favorite.
The Pork Chop special was a big hit! We do use locally sourced ingredients from surrounding farms and vendors in the Hampton Roads area and often have special additions to the menu, to highlight ingredients that just came in! we heard so many good things about this resturant but we found our experience to be disappointing. cocktails were good but the food was in my opinion us over priced and salty.
So glad to see it back open and just as good as it was when it closed for COV-19.
The hotel is overall amazing and so my style coupled by fine dining is just an overall masterpiece from reservations to paying the check. Not a meat eater, no problem! The chef will create a vegetarian dish just for you! Viola! Magnifico!

We ate by"The Pass" and were able to watch the chef (Zach Close) and cooks working their magic. The duck was delicious and the kohlrabi enhanced the flavors of the duck. The panna cotta desert with rhubarb was light and flavorful. Our server, Sarah, was able to recommend excellent wines to go with our selections. Tables were well-spaced so we felt comfortable dining indoors.

We enjoyed the experience thoroughly. We were greeted by friendly staff and treated with respect the whole time. The food was worthy of a 5-Star restaurant in both presentation and flavor. The octopus appetizer and beef carpaccio with toasted brioche slices were a treat with multiple flavors coming through to delight. The seared scallops were large and full of just the right amount of seasoning -- melting in your mouth. We tried 3 different desserts and couldn't believe that we ate them all. The were excellent.

The waitress was kind & responsive. The champagne (by the glass) was flat. The oysters were tasty but come without horseradish or hot sauce. My burger was delish & the fries were fresh. We still don’t know what the foam in the middle of my husband’s scallops was..? The scallops were OK according to him & the plating was sad with just a few sad little brussel sprouts. It was his birthday & they served him house made birthday chocolates, which was a nice touch.
