Gather at Coriole
Special lunch for my love's 60th. We had a wonderful table looking out onto the beautiful garden, farmland and views of the coast. The service was impeccable: just the right amount of discretion, friendliness and joviality. The food........ absolutely delicious. We did the five course degustation and each course was an adventure. Just the right experience to celebrate a significant birthday. We'll be back.
Great food and view. Try the Chef's Selection. Terrific value, paired with a nice range of local and international wines.
The 02-07 Coriole Reserves and Chateaux D'Issan Margaux are delicious.
Service and food were very good. Time between the courses was sometimes too long, other courses came too quickly. Kitchen stressed?
The chairs could be equipped with cushions, the windows cleaned. Otherwise a charming place
The five corse menu was delicious and the staff was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The view is amazing and the surrounding very beautiful . We’ll certainly come back in the future.
Had a fantastic day, Staff, service and food where great. Just a little on the expensive side.
It was OK. Forced to have the sharing menu as no ala carte menu available although website had a full menu shown.
It was OK but the first part of the sharing was average in my opinion . Bread, Olives, crisp breads, small serve.
Probably not bother going back as I do not like being forced to have sharing menu
all 6 had the same view. Quality was good but not happy with the forced sharing option
Absolutely delicious and interesting food. We chose the Chef's Choice where several small dishes are brought out in succession. We whet our appetites with the house made crusty bread and creamy butter which was the best I've ever tasted. My overall favourite dish was the kangaroo which came out last. We finished with cream brulee which was sensational. Good wine list, but it would be great if some more non-alcoholic beverages could be added to the list - some exciting mocktails would be great.
The service was perfect and the ambiance was relaxing and cosy. It was an unexpectedly cold day for December, so they'd lit the fire which was lovely.
Definitely will be going back. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Lovely setting. Beautiful food and great service. To top it off Fiori wine....perfect lunch.
Delicious meal and excellent service! Highly recommend this restaurant as a great place to experience the delicacies of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Great location, friendly staff . Food was great once again & all at a very reasonable price. We had another great dining experience so we will definitely be back.
So it’s the big 👍 from this McClaren Vale local.
I have already recommended it to people we have met in SA and I will definitely recommend it to Sydney friends travelling to Adelaide. I thought the chef was a master of master stocks giving the food a lifted, delicious flavour. The brassica side was heavenly, especially the lemon gum flavour. I’m now trying to source that ingredient for my home cooking. The serves were very generous and satisfying. Altogether great value. Our waiter was light & fun. The ambiance delightful & yes energetic, but not over noisy & the outlook to the vines and garden very pleasant and restful. We ate at wonderful restaurants in SA but Gather was my favourite.
Beautiful location and situation with friendly knowledgeable cellar door staff. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance, food was high quality, delicious and interesting. The service was friendly and attentive- all in all a very enjoyable day out
We visited there for lunch with kids but I feel really relaxing and the stuff was so friendly and kind. The food was excellent and they organise very well. I love this restaurant and we are sure we will be back soon!!!
Such beautiful, delicious, food with a spectacular view and vibe.
The one thing that roundly annoyed us was the Brassica side dish.... we were expecting a perhaps more balanced group of brassicas, not just 95% kale. The one that -really- NONE of us cared for. Blerrrrgh. Everything else that we ordered was solidly five stars. xoJill
Food was excellent and service good. Looked after special dietary requriements excellently.
Coriole was a highlight of our SA adventure. Set in a magically beautiful garden overlooking the vineyards and hills, I felt like I stepped into an ad for McLaren Vale. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was superb. We’re coming back!!!!
The whole experience was excellent. Only flaw is that the portion of mains still required further plate of salad/sides to really fill you up. As an extra experience, we were lucky to share the venue with a small wedding ceremony and party. Gorgeous outdoor gardens as well.
We went to celebrate a birthday and found that the table we had was excellent with views over the beautiful valley. The food was cooked and presented with flair, the herbs and vegetables delectable.
We plan to return.
Overall we loved the greeting, attention to ensuring great wine and service. The only disappointing factor was that the beef (Sunday’s lunch last of the 5 course dish) was very tough. My husband suggested we ask for steak knives. He enjoys all food however we could not eat the steak. The lovely waitress said she’d mention it to the kitchen? There was no explanation to problem with steak? We finished with a beautiful creme brûlée rhubarb icecream and coffee.
Wonderful staff! Really great place to visit with loved ones. Will come back soon!
Thank you for such an lovely experience, it was the perfect spot to celebrate my partner's birthday. Even though I had to change the booking due to my car breaking down and Gathered had a wedding to get ready for, it was still such a nice lunch. We'll definitely be back!
Enjoyed experience and food was just right. Fodd came out one after another plate a bit too rapidly for our liking but not big issue. Will definitely be back.
Thought the set meal was overpriced this time around so went for a selection of light shared dishes: bread, olives, chicken terrine and a very dry shredded and compressed pork concoction that was very heavy on the cloves.
They don’t miss you on the wine prices, either, given that maintaining stock levels of your own wine shouldn’t be a major cost burden, unlike for licensed restaurants.
But the place was packed for Sunday lunch so what do I know?
The ambience is terrific on a lovely spring day, so better to focus on the positives.
Amazing again food was delicious and our waiter went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met and that we had a good afternoon which we did a beautiful relaxed atmosphere thanks Eve
Amazing food from a very talented chef. Great that our much loved coriole wines are now matched with equally impressive restaurant. Inventive, flavour driven and beautifully presented. Thanks for great wedding anniversary celebrations.
The chef's selection menu was magnificent and outstanding value for money.
Overall a nice experience, however one of our servers was quite abrupt with our guests who were waiting for our arrival (I had booked but was unfortunately running late due circumstances beyond our control). Our friends, new to Adelaide, were unceremoniously told that the 12pm booking 'had to end at 2pm' therefore a food order 'needed to be placed' (before our arrival) .. in order "to make it out on time". I consider this amazingly rude and not very understanding, particularly when their restaurant was no-where near capacity for the afternoon. Disappointed. Would rather go elsewhere in the future.
Great staff, super view and the meal was enjoyable. Salad highly recommended as very fresh and dressing was clean and refreshing. Great calming view looking out over the area. Highly recommended.
i would highly recommend this restauarant a the vineyard. It is a superb winery with great wines. We did a short 1 hour visit and the restaurant was able to accomodate us with horderves and 3 courses and time for wine tasting! The food was superb. Literally some of the best we had in Adelaide
Overall disappointing after a great previous experience
Thank you, you have a lovely setting - garden is amazing, plus aesthetically pleasing and tasty food.
Delightful food in a beautiful setting. Every dish was excellent from starters to dessert. Service was pleasant but a bit erratic and the sharing plates didn't work well with our table numbers. More guidance on that would have been helpful. Otherwise brilliant.
Delicious food, excellent service at a stunning location!
Was refused a coffee on arrival as kitchen was supposedly very busy. Eventually was offered one by lovely girl and enjoyed it sitting outside
Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful views and delicious food. Loved the Sunday roast, not something I would normally order but all 5 courses were divine and it was nice not to make any decisions and just enjoy the food. The perfect amount for two people. We will be back. :)
Lunch as a part of a McLaren vale hop off hop on winetour. Haf a great lunch and winetasting. Everything was great exept for that er got 2 wrong wine bottles in our case. Got two reds instead of our favorite white the Optimist ;(
Excellent food, tasty and balanced. Generous serves. Goos selection of wines that are well matched with the food.
We are from Brisbane and read about Gather in the Weekend Australian Magazine and certainly weren’t disappointed. Our chosen dishes were exactly as was explained, nicely presented with drinks to compliment. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to share really good fare with an amazing view of the vineyards.
I went to Gather after the review in the Weekend Australian and chose a beautiful Spring day to enjoy the gorgeous view. The service, wine and general ambience was very pleasant however I was very disappointed in the food I chose re value for money. The serving size of the entree King Fish was light on and my pasta dish also an entree was heavy and bland in flavour. My partner had the steak which was very tender and flavoursome but expensive.
