Service was prompt. We got in and out in time to make it to our show at the Civic. The menu choices were excellent. We had a vegetarian and a person doing keto in our party and both of them found things they were able to eat.
Food was way too salty. Noisy and one server was having a bad day. Our second server was polite. Big issue is that their merchant charge system was down and we were forced to pay cash. What if we had no cash? Need better management and happier servers.
Phoebe is a Phenomenon!
Our server was very good & took care of our food issue. The quality has gone down a bit since the COVID issues. We’ll try one more time to see if it was just an off night.
Fish was over cooked and dry! The waitress did give us a 20% discount but non the less the dinner was a waste of an evening in San Diego.
Outstanding service and food.
The food was soo delicious. Very much worth the pricing and a perfect amount to be served. The service was amazing and can’t wait to come back.
Great dinner & Max was the best server ever!
Get the clam chowder and the Butterscotch pudding! Both are DIVINE!
It’s downtown San Diego, we decided to eat outside. So being San Diego I know what I’m going to get. However, the food was OK/good, my waitress was amazing. I could just tail the value and the freshness of the seafood wasn’t all there.. I would go back only for happy hour
Was not impressed food was cold. I’ll never go back if visiting.
Exceeded all expectations! The dishes were delicious and the staff were attentive and on their game.
We had Max as a server and he was amazing! The salad was delicious but the meal was average and there were not a lot of healthy choices.
First time here and the food and service was great!
Great food and relaxed atmosphere.
We had a great experience! The service was good and our meals were fresh and tasty. Tried an Old Fashioned after reading a good review and it did not disappoint. Prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. Adding this to our list of favorites.
Our fish was overcooked. I had the swordfish/Fish of the day and had to use a knife to cut up my fish. My partner had the Halibut and it was dry and over crisped.
We were given a no choice appetizer for free which was a ceviche.
The clam chowder was very good. We both enjoyed that!
the food was very good- a little bit pricy and not many options- but the service was very good, loved the vibe
Place was full of smoke.
Food sucked ! Chowders were cold.
Lobster tail was like jerky. Halibut was supposed to be on the rare side. It was overcooked and dry. This was a surprise 35 wedding anniversary dinner for my wife. I did not score any brownie points !
The scallops, calamari, crab cakes were delicious!
We thought we’d try out a new fish place as we had friends in town. The ambiance was cool. The hostess was super nice and sat us early. It’s a decent priced place in the Gaslamp District so you expect it’s gonna be a great dinner with excellent service, but we were let down. Our waiter had good drink recommendations (they have a good old fashioned), but it was strange that the waiter was constantly rushing us to order when it wasn’t busy. He wasn’t personal at all and just seemed curt the entire time. Never asked about the occasion and just seemed annoyed the entire time. We had 8 people so maybe we were treated without any care because he knew he was getting a tip regardless of the outcome? Most of the entrees were excellent but the steak on the surf and turf (for a steep $50 price tag) was way over cooked (and it was ordered med rare). The rice side that several people had with their special was pretty bland and unexciting and dry. The fish, swordfish, and curry were all quite good. I would have said something about the steak, or considered ordering desserts but the waiter basically ushered us out with his attitude by that point so we were ready to go. I wouldn’t take visitors here again, and we won’t be back.
These folks know how to do fish! We both had locally sourced fish, swordfish and rockfish, and it was exquisite. Our server, Heather, complimented the excellent meal with outstanding service. Although I rarely come back to a restaurant because I like to try them all, I'm making an exception in this case. A real keeper!
Max was awesome! This place is clean, fast, and has excellent service, from the hostess to the server. The food always exceeds expectation, as does the experience. It's absolutely our favorite spot when visiting San Diego!
Great food and great service. Highly recommend.
The appetizers and drinks specials were great during happy hour. The diner experience was even better. We all order the seafood duo meal and it was delicious. Perfect location to dine in the Gaslamp district- downtown San Diego.
The staff were amazing, from the podium to dessert! I had the scallops, perfectly seared and lovely taste. The ceviche was tasty, as well! A very nice place for chilling or eating!
The food was great! The oysters were really fresh and not fishy at all. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder as it was super salty.
The indoor restaurant had a strange damp, chemical-y smell that was off-putting, so we moved outside which was much better.
David was such a great waiter! Excellent customer service. The seafood tower was yummy but the fish and chips stole my heart. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.
Great place…best clam chowder I’ve had in a while!! We had a nice bottle of wine. Staff is friendly…we’ll be back, for sure!!
We understand that each city/region is different, but the staff did not wear masks and patrons did not have any either. It felt a little unsafe, especially since the staff didnt wear masks and sanitization stations were pretty much non-existent. The food was good, the wait to get a table was not so good. We made reservations for 7:30. Arrived around 7:25. We were told to wait a few minutes since we were early, yet there were tables available. Our waitress was fantastic, but the hostess not so much.
Great dinner, the oysters were very small that would be the only thing. Great night amazing food and energetic atmosphere
My best friends birthday
The lobster bisque was excellent.
Got seated on time. Had a pretty good meal, wish oysters were more plump. Scallops and glazed salmon were delicious and gave in to the tempting chocolate bread pudding. A bit pricey but happy to help out in recovery of local restaurants.
Awful food. Some of the worst fish I have ever had. Fish tasted spoiled.
Like everywhere - a bit short staffed , but communication and hustle made up for it
The food is obscenely overpriced for no reason. Service was horrendous. Go someplace else
Great food! Had their oysters (yum!), ribeye, and their Cajun seafood. Topped it off with their homemade butterscotch pudding! It was a great dinner, we thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant!
Good food nice wait staff
