An absolute MUST TRY. Reserve a wine tasting tour through Bruma then pop over to Fauna for dinner - a truly sensational menu.
The staff was duplicitous about menu choices, tried to up-sell and recanted only after we walked out. Otherwise the place is beautiful and food is delicious. If not for a dishonest manager looking to take advantage of a gringo, it would be great destination.
We had the best meal of our lives at Fauna. The care and expertise of each ingredient was so evident in the near perfect execution. Each course’s flavors were unique and inventive, but incredibly delicious. I would drive down to Ensenada just to go to this restaurant, it’s truly one of a kind.
Buena comida. Algunos platillos muy sobresalientes otros nada que ver. Servicio muy malo, como si le hacen a uno el favor. Lugar muy bonito, precios altos para lo que recibes. Hay mejor comida en el Valle

This is a high-end gourmet cuisine restaurant, the food and taste is very good but very pricy compared to other restaurants in the area with similar dishes. The place is very nice and comfortable, you will have to share the table with other guests.
Spectacular! One of the best meals we’ve had in Mexico. Service was impeccable and friendly. The food to die for. I mean, they made the humble cabbage be a revelation. That good.

The meat was row, the waiter made a lot of mistakes with our order, the portions were tiny. So dissappointed!!! In the other hand the decoration and the place are stunning! Great place to visit and take pictures.
We ordered a tom hawack ( I don’t know the spelling) and it was 40 percent fat and 40 percent meat and 20 percent bone. So sad!!! And we waited more than one hour ;(
The Prefixed meal was absolutely amazing. Every dish was mouth watering good! The wine pairings were ok, I would opt for cocktails and the pre set meal instead of including the pairings. The full experience took about 3 hours to enjoy. Would highly recommend again!
El lugar esta padrísimo, el menu es super interesante y muy bueno. Mis unicas acotaciones son dos: habia demasiadas cosas ácidas en el menu de degustacion, y por otro lado, a pesar de que les dije que no comia carne pero, les dio trabajo entender, me ofrecieron pato (como si no fuera carne) y en el ultimo tiempo que era pulpo (acepté comer mariscos) llego cubierto de chicharrón de cerdo, y por supuesto no lo pude comer. Nuestro postre mas artistico que bueno, como les pasa a muchos de estos lugares de comida de autor, se les olvida que -a menos que el comensal pida lo contrario- el postre debe ser denso, adictivo y decadente.
De cualquier forma me encantó y regresaría.

Good ambience, drinks and vibes! I’m unhappy at the fact that we were forced to do the experimental food option. I don’t go to a restaurant to be told what to eat. I wanted a tomahawk steak and ended up with a very salty borrego dish as a result. It’s the first time I’m forced to eat something I don’t want but this is what I get for being a good sport I guess.
The food was great! The menu was exciting. But, we could not hear each other. The music was turned up very loud and it was crowded, making conversation almost impossible!
Also, I understand Memorial Day weekend was crowded with Americans on holiday - but the staff was so frantic that they couldn’t keep up. They brought plates, but napkins for only 2 out of 4 people, we couldn’t get anyone’s attention for water, it took 15 minutes before I could catch anyone’s attention to ask for the bill, and I had to ask twice. We waited almost 45 minutes just for the bill... those are just few examples of the service. It’s a lovely restaurant, great food, beautiful environment, but the staff need help organizing and prioritizing. They seemed too overwhelmed by a full house. A true fine dinning restaurant makes the service feel relaxed, comfortable and effortless. I was getting secondary anxiety from the frantic staff who were rushing so much they broke at least 6 glasses over the course of 3 hours at the bar right behind me. I felt bad for them. Please help your staff find a rhythm to their work. Maybe each person should be assigned specific responsibilities- it seemed like everyone was trying to do everything, and nothing was really happening.... the same applies to the kitchen... each course took almost an hour...I’m in favor for slow eating and slow food, but because we couldn’t hear each other to talk our 4 hour meal was just too long... it could have been 2 hours and we would have been happy and our bums would have been less bruised by the hard metal seats.
I would recommend that there be group seating options and non-group seating options instead of forced group seating. The forced group seating was very unpleasant during my visit to the restaurant. There was no way to escape a very obnoxious couple sitting adjacent to my partner and I as we were trying to enjoy our dinner and the other guests.
I loved my experience at Fauna! The service & food was exceptional. Myself & my family went for my birthday, 2 members from my family are vegan & they accommodated so perfectly. The food was amazing. I am definitely planning to visit again.
Our service was TERRIBLE- and we were seated with rude patrons from San Diego. We would have enjoyed private seating with more attentive service.
We love Fauna for the gorgeous setting, inventive delicious food, favorite margarita, killer desserts, and the friendly vibe from everyone there feeling just lucky the be in that creative happy beautiful space.

You don't go to Fauna for a meal - you go for the experience. From the decor/ ambience to the service to the food itself (which is incredible) this is a MUST if you're in the Valle. We were a party of 7 and had lunch - sure the Fauna pre fixed menu (pre fixed required for parties of 6 or more) - family style, 4-course meal and each part of it was incredible. Our crew loved the grilled octopus and lamb the best but everything truly was delicious, unique, fresh, and flavorful. We will be back!!

The ambiance was nice. Great design. Cool vibe. The food selection was limited though, and the waiter tried to hurry us. He actually removed plates that we were still eating on. This was unpleasant.
The food was excellent! The tasting menu was delicious and creative. Only snags were that we had a reservation, waited a very long time to be seated as other groups were seated ahead of us, were seated at the end of a table outside - not inside as requested, drinks took a very long time to arrive, and dinner took 3+hours.

Absolutely wonderful 3 hour lunch with 9 courses paired with wine, beer, and a mezcul. The scallops in browned butter and squid ink were totally over the top. May be one of the best things I have EVER eaten.
