Farmers Fishers Bakers
Had an amazing time, been going here for about three years now. Always have a great time, wonderful team service from Cescily and staff. Will always come back and have a fun time.
I love a farm to table experience and the food here did not disappoint. Lovely setting too, I’m sure it would be even more beautiful on a less wet, miserable day.
Wow what a great meal! The kettle corn was amazing!!
Also the staff was great when it came to my daughters allergy. Everything was handled with absolute precision!!
Thank you to all the took care of us!
I usually love FFB, but while the waiter had a great personality, we received little service after the food arrived. Annoying since I wanted a glass of wine with dinner. Also, all the apps and dinners came out nearly at the same time. Not enjoyable and made us feel rushed! Completely unnecessary to have that happen. For me it ruined the experience since we had to jockey for space to eat with four people.
Very nice atmosphere with a great view of the Potomac River. Nice outdoor seating which we could not use because it was raining. The sushi appetizer was quite good. The honey pot fried chicken was enjoyed by my partner and I had the cioppino which was very tasty. The only problem with my entrée was that the shrimp were very overcooked and a bit chewy. I told the server when he asked how the entrees were and the manager appeared at our table a few minutes later. He understood the problem which indicated to me that perhaps I was not the first person to comment on the shrimp. It's a simple fix--just add them to the broth a little later than the other seafood! Anyway, we had a very nice time and I highly recommend the restaurant. They obviously care about their customers and although I do not live in the area, I would go back again if I did.
Server was a little out of it and forgot our drinks and food, but a very nice guy. Food was great
We’ve had dinner here and now brunch. Both were outstanding!! I will definitely come back!!
This place was epic for brunch in DC with great options and atmosphere!! Highly recommended for all food lovers
Our first time here and and host/hostess were not very friendly nor informative. It was nice that the table was ready immediately, but first hostess/manager? walked away, not letting us know that the other host would seat us, leaving us to wonder if we were supposed to follow her or not. 2nd host made minimal eye contact and once he was going to lead us to the table, did not give us the time to put away our wet umbrellas. He left the menu on our table and walked away before wet even got to the table and did not explain how the buffet worked. (yes, buffets are pretty self-explanatory). We didn’t know where the buffet was located or how the menu related to the buffet. We did not know until we had paid the bill that you could order eggs Benedict or the cinnamon rolls/biscuits, or that the coffee/tea were actually included in the buffet, etc. our server was very nice and all of the personnel were very hard-working and polite. Thanks for an overall pleasant brunch.
Very good food. We had several apps, crab dip, corn with shaved cauliflower salad, and pretzels with various dips. All were very good. I had jambalaya, different than traditional but great. My son had a nice filet mignon and and my daughter had cedar plank salmon that she split with my wife. Nice location in Georgetown on the Potomac. Just very delicious, fresh tasting food. I’ll be back! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. We had one and only had a short wait to be seated. But it is crowded.
Super lively place. Easy to order from menu with fun desserts. We've been to two of their locations and love the same but different appeal. Service was a little sketchy this time but haven't found that to be the norm. Definitely recommend.
Would definitely come back!
This is a good restaurant and fun place to go when in DC. IT IS VERY NOISY...which we don’t mind but some do. Our waiter was helpful and kind but he was busy. Mussel pot was delicious but felt like the French bread could have been better. Crab cakes were delicious but wasn’t thrilled with the (basically) Rice A Roni side dish. Always disappointed with Coke in a can....fountain machine is ALWAYS BETTER :)
Amazing food and drinks. Cauliflower hummus. Tacos margaritas with egg whites.
We very much enjoyed our meal at Farmers Fishers Bakers. The food was really tasty and fresh and not pretentious at all. The location on the river is beautiful. We sat outside on a fall night and the patio was warmed by space heaters and quite comfortable. Service was pleasant and efficient. Kettle Corn as an appetiser was excellent, as were the biscuits. My blackened catfish was extremely flavorful and cooked exactly right, still moist. Only disappointment was the fact that we made reservations for six and when we tried to expand our reservation to 7 to include one more person, the restaurant said they couldn't do that. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, it looked like they could have easily added another chair to our seating area (which was tables pulled together anyway). Had to leave one person out of our plans, which was disappointing.
Best meal of our DC trip! We came here based on a friend’s recommendation and loved every single thing. We sat outside - the area is vibrant with several other restaurants nearby - and enjoyed our wine while people watching. The food was spectacular - we started with kettle corn - fun for kids and grownups. Our entrees were top notch. Definitely recommend!
The food was scrumptious. There were 5 people in our party. Everyone ordered a different meal and everyone said their meal was delicious! Atmosphere is fun and energetic but a bit loud. Wait staff was attentive.
Diego was such a helpful waiter! Thanks for being so helpful!
Overall very good. Very busy and service was very good but not very personable. Great selection so everyone found something they wanted but overall not a special experience.
The food was not very good, and we were placed in what I guess was the bar area, near the front door, meaning we had multiple waiters, neither of whom was that attentive because they were covering the whole bar area. Not sure why a party of 3 with reservations was put in the bar since the restaurant was mostly empty until much later. We all 3 ordered stew or soup based seafood dishes and they were delivered to us in less than 5 minutes, which means all of those dishes contained items like shrimp and scallops that were precooked and just sitting on a hot plate in the kitchen ready for the next dump of seafood orders. The seafood was thus dry, overcooked and flavorless. I ordered seafood jambalaya and it appeared that someone in the kitchen misunderstood that where the dinner may have been supposed to come with a salad, they dumped the salad into the jambalaya, which although not a complete disaster, made it seem like jambalaya with oil and vinegar instead of the normal jambalaya seasonings. It was also extremely loud and very busy with people constantly running by us in the bar, which does not make for pleasant dining. Again, not sure why we were seated in the bar since we had reservations and there were many empty tables visible in the main part of the restaurant and I do not think the customer has to be put in a position where they have to demand better seating than the bar - the restaurant should seat customers with reservations in the restaurant unless someone says they want to sit in the bar or there is no other room and they are offered the choice. Since it was also noisy, we could not have a conversation without yelling at each other. I would not recommend this place, even for casual dinner, especially in an area that has many good restaurants at the same price point, which was, in hindsight, extraordinarily high given the mediocre quality of the food.
Hi Chris: Thank you for sharing your review with us. I am super sorry for the disappointing table location and poor food presentation & quality you described from this visit. :( I would love the chance to follow up and will send you a DM with my email address. -Amy
Hands down my favorite restaurant in DC. I love the location and the food is spectacular! The blue cheese muscle pot is the best thing ever. I love that the food is fresh and that it's from farmers that are part of the restaurant's group. The ambiance is also great. It smells wonderful in the restaurant and the decor is awesome. I make it a point to visit this place every time I'm in town!
Showed up early and sat at the bar. Super noisy in the restaurant but that’s part of the atmosphere. Had the ribs, fries and coleslaw. You need a big appetite for them. Ribs were good. Slaw was fresh. Thumbs up.
Amazing food and service
Lovely views, nice vibe. Terrific and friendly service.
Not our favorite meal in the DC area. Kids options were limited. Service was slow.
The brunch buffet was very nice with a wide variety of choices, however many dishes were not labeled so it was hard to figure out what they were.
There were a few mishaps in the kitchen but our waitress was really nice about it -
a gentleman put an appetizer on our table and we told him we ordered calamari, but it wasn't calamari and the waitress took it back and gave us our calamari (which was very tasty)
He looked as if he was going to give me a red/pink looking soup when I ordered N.E. clam chowder - the waitress told him not to give it to me and he gave me the soup i had ordered
my daughter received a dinner that she didn't order and the waitress asked her to enjoy it (a different kind of steak dinner) while they fixed her proper dinner - so we in essence got an extra meal, but it wasn't what my daughter ordered - when her dinner arrived, she really enjoyed it
just a note - I had indicated that it was my husband's birthday and no one wished him a happy birthday
Everything was delicious service from our waitress was great, considering
Overall, very good dining experience. Food tasted amazing and restaurant was very nice. Only negative was that our group had to wait 30 mins past reservation time to be seated.
Great view of the colored lights on the foundation if you eat outside. Uncomfortable plastic chairs but they do have outdoor heaters. Food and service was a C+. Too many good restaurants in Washington DC to go back again.
Delicious food, loud, crowded, excellent location on harbor. Prepare for crowds.
We were in town to visit our daughter. We’ve eaten at Founding Farmers several times before. We were looking for a resin Georgetown when I saw this one. The food was very good. We had a great table. Our server was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant!
I’ve been to FFB at least 12 times, and each experience has been delicious. The pots of mussels to share with the table are our favorite way to start the meal, and each time we feel compelled to try a different variation; all of them have been superb. The same goes for all the fish entrees I’ve tried, the most outstanding being the seared tuna with lemon and white beans. But the piece de resistance is the Virginia peanut butter mousse pie with a caramel peanut layer on top of a graham cracker crust. It is definitely decadent and worth every calorie.
Made a reservation weeks in advance, always have a good experience. Had to wait a long time for table, terrible service, got food wrong, small portions, messed up checks
We were a party of 3 for brunch and our service was very disappointing. Drinks took over 20 min to receive and asked several people for cream for coffee and never received. Other tables received a plate of biscuits and cinnamon rolls, ours never came and the eggs Benedict we requested cake after 30 min. Will not return
Hi JenniferN: I am so sorry to read the service during your visit on Sunday was very disappointing. I feel awful that your drinks were delayed, the cream was overlooked for your coffee and the passed items failed to make their way to you! With this all acknowledged, I would love to touch base and will send you a DM with my email address. -Amy
It was a buffet style brunch. Multiple times the buffet dishes were empty so we couldn’t get what we wanted. They were supposed to walk around with special dishes and they did not. They came by with one of the special dishes as we were paying the check. We were there over an hour and a half and did not get the special dishes. It was noisy and crowded and the young lady who was serving us was obviously new. I could go on and on but leave it to say I will never go there again.
We enjoyed a tasty Sunday brunch with friends. The buffet and rotating plates had excellent selections for everyone!
Great experience for our first visit! The waiter was great and we loved the shell like booth we sat in. The drinks were amazing and the food was even better!
The food was really good. Quick fast service. They have a lot food options to choice from
Loved it! Best restaurant so far in DC
