Farmers & Distillers
The food was great however service could have been better. We were seated promptly and water was served but we wasn’t asked if we would like anything else to drink for a little bit. We even had to call over the server to take our order and bring our checks.
We had a great experience! Food was amazing and service was top-notch.
Food is usually better but the ambiance and service was good!
Bourbon was excellent and the "signature" Yankee Pot Roast was GREAT. We will visit this restaurant again!
The location was very loud, and it was hard to hear conversations with people at the table. Also, they ran out of certain items on the menu (cones for their ice cream, for example), and there was an issue with our order. The manager did come over to apologize and she was helpful. The food was good.
Our waitress was unprofessional. She placed the check before we ordered dessert all because she was scheduled to get off. Then her attitude got worse after we ordered icecream cones.
I always enjoy the Sunday brunch here. We were seated in the area we requested in a timely manner. It was pretty busy, but our waiter was as attentive as he was able. Already planning my next trip for brunch to celebrate my sister's birthday!
Reservations are basically not effectively honored, and I have had a somewhat humiliating experience just being a customer! Poor management and crowd planning kept me and my work colleague waiting at least 20 min WITH reservations. We stood in a crowded, loud space re dodging servers. I was curtly treated when I had repeatedly to ask what happened to our reservation. The server never served my coffee; had to ask again in the chaos. I don't think the food really makes up for poor service and attitude. I had to get firm and communicate real dissatisfaction. I won't eat here again.
It was really hot today - people were sweating because there were issues with the AC
Brunch was wonderful. Plenty of breakfast and lunch options to choose from. Everyone in my group left happy and stuffed.
They've changed the brunch. Not sure if it's fewer options or what, but it was better the last summer than this time. Not awful, but more choices. Desserts are always on point. Also, it'd be nice to make sure everything is labeled, especially now that more food has some hidden combos of seafood or other stuff in it.
Our server Amir was really knowledgeable! He suggested yummy options since we had never been there before. Things did take a while to come out but it was worth the wait.
The food was delicious and creative. However, it was a 90+ degree day in Washington DC and the AC wasn’t working. Only when we asked them to turn on the AC did they apologize and offer the comp the appetizers. One AC vent had hot/hot air blowing out of it. This was very disappointing as we were dining with out of town friends. The hostess should have told diners in the section we were seated in that there was a problem with the AC before seating them.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend it to friends. Several food items were not available including the cornbread. The server said it would not come out until we were served our entrees. 45 minutes later, our food had not come out and other people were getting cornbread. I asked for other bread to be delivered to our table, but server never brought it. Our drinks had not been filled until just before we left the restaurant.
Pot roast meal was delicious, as was the bolognese. We tried the amaro daquiri. Very unique and delicious. Will definitely return.
Must try the IMPOSSIBLE meatloaf.
Cant honestly provide true star rating but wanted to share so had to put something to get to this page.
Very disappointed after traveling there, waiting for table. No where I looked while searching for a good place to dine informed me they ONLY SERVE BUFFET on Saturday. Maybe Sunday as well.
Poor service. Had to ask waitress for beverages (coffee) or napkins. Anything asked took awhile. Even had to wait over 20 minutes for milk for my coffee.
Wait staff was not very attentive and the Maitre d was horrible. Table wasn’t ready at time of reservation and made zero effort to keep us informed on when it would be, we continually had to ask for updates.
The all-you-can-eat brunch buffet is amazing! There are so many options, so there's something for everyone. My friends and I stayed for almost two hours, and no one rushed us to leave. It was really nice and relaxing, and really allowed us to fully take advantage of the $33 price.
We had the Farmers Brunch. It was overall pretty good, the buffet had a lot to choose from. The price is pretty decent for the D.C. area. The customer service was a little under par, our waitress only checked on us twice in the hour and half we were there. Each time was because we needed something. However, over all I definitely recommend this place again, especially if you want to get your moneys worth.
Saturday brunch buffet had something for everyone. Numerous choices, all of which were delicious. Food was constantly refreshed. Our waitress was Meredith who took good care of us, keeping our coffee hot. Would recommend to all.
The first time I tried coming here I left after not being seated for 35 minutes past my reservation time. This time I showed up at 830 with a reservation. The host explained that they were running behind. I explained that in the past I had issues with being seated and I would leave if it was going to be 35 minutes for a table. She explained it wouldn't be 35 minutes, and after doing some shuffling seated me more or less on time. The service took forever to acknowledge us though. I almost would have appreciated waiting at the bar. The server seemed uninterested and never brought a napkin my date requested. Then when she ordered a vodka and lime they just brought vodka without ice. The appetizer was late and the main course was early so they arrived almost simultaneously, the server was a ghost most of the meal. This place smelled great and would be a good place to go for comfort food, but it is managed so poorly that I probably won't be back.
Good night, great menu selection. My entree had too much pepper on it, but other than that it was a great experience.
Chicken and donuts!
The Sweet Potato Ravioli dish was devine as was the Carrot and Beet bevarage that I had.
Nice atmosphere and restaurant but the food is sometimes good and sometimes ok.
Service was extremely poor and the level of noise was extreme. You cannot have a conversation with your date. Very poor service. I had to wait over 20 minutes for a manhattan soda. We order 6 donuts at the end of our meal and waited for 30 minutes. Will not be back
Love the locally sourced concept. The ambiance is comfortable and handsome. The hostess did a great job accommodating us despite our tardiness. I had the lamb noodles and my guest had the shrimp scampi. My noodles were good and I would order them again. My guest said the shrimp were over cooked. I would give them another chance.
Overall, it was a good experience. The food there hardly ever disappoints. It was a busy Thursday night, but even then, service was really slow and not exceptional at all.
Fish and chips were fresh and meaty. Pot Roast didn’t have all that much meat in it. Steak frites were good!
Our dinner was delicious and the service was excellent!
Good food and location. Would recommend for sure but would have liked a window seat to watch the world go by
Great food but they still can’t get the seating right. Amazing. Even with a reservation they make you wait and seem confused and overwhelmed at the hostess stand
Oh gosh! Thanks Phil for letting us know, and I am super sorry that the service at our host stand did not level up to the great food you had. :( We appreciate you letting us know and our Management Team will follow up with our staff that worked during your visit on July 10th. We hope you'll give us another try soon and please call us anytime at (202) 464-3001 for anything needed in the future. -Amy
We took out of town family here for dinner. Everyone loved their meal and we had a big variety: chicken and donuts, sweet potato ravioli, steak and grilled cheese patty melt. Service is reasonably quick given the restaurant is always packed. They have a great cocktail and beer selection and have I mentioned AMAZING donuts! You will not be disappointed.
Of the three meals two of them did not taste good. Waiter was not friendly
I am so sorry, Diana to read that two of your three meals did not taste good and the service considered un-friendly. Our team takes what you shared to heart and I would love the chance to touch base about your review. I will send you a PM to continue this conversation. -Amy
My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner before a show. We had a 5:30 reservation. Staff was attentive and took care of us well. This was our second visit and we will be back.
AWESOME! Thank you for sharing your wonderful review with us! We hope to have you & your daughter back soon. -Amy
For this dining experience, I am sad to rate it "Fair". It was because of the dish I ordered - the shrimp and gnocci. All of the shrimp in that dish was overcooked and tough, and the sauce was too salty. I was disappointed in the food for the first time. I was further disappointed since the manager sent the chef to our table and she just stood there and didn't say anything. I expected at the very least the manager would have taken something off of our bill. I dined with one other person. Sorry to say on this day, it was a disappointment. However, the appetizer of chips, guacamole and salsa was delicious!
I am very sorry to read that your experience fell short this time and was only considered "fair". :( I understand your disappointment from what you shared in your review and would love to make right our wrong & hopefully turn around your lasting impression. I will send you a PM with my email address to touch base. -Amy
Excellent choice for breakfast. When asked how her breakfast tasted, my daughter stated "delicious." Definitely recommend restaurant. I also appreciated that I was served tea in a tea cup....extra nice touch.
Service also was excellent.
This is my new favorite restaurant! Everything was great
I made a reservation for a group of 6 for Sunday brunch. We all arrived about 10 mins early and our table was ready for us. The brunch menu has a lot of options available for all tastes, even vegetarians. They had a fantastically diverse buffet and freshly baked sweets to choose from. There was a lot of people dining, but it never felt crowded. Food and drinks were excellent. We all had a great time and enjoyed the all you can eat buffet for only 32.99! It was a great value for the quality and quantity to choose from. I hope this place is now on your "want to go" list, if you haven't been already. Cheers.
