Went for brunch service. While I didn’t mind getting up to the buffet, I felt that there were social distancing issues while going in and out from the patio to the indoor buffet. I chose to sit outside to avoid indoor dining. I also thought the advertisement for the buffet was misleading because it did not sound like I would have to get up for food. It was more advertised as servers transporting food. Would come again for dinner, but would hold off on brunch service until service returns to “normal.”
Let me begin by saying that I love Farmers & Distillers brunch. However, my experience on Sunday was anxiety ridden. It was my first time eating inside a restaurant since the pandemic began. I thought the process for partaking in the brunch buffet was cumbersome. Waiters should remind guests that they need to take a plate with them to the buffet because that's not intuitive. There should also be a staff person monitoring the line to ensure appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks. The line and the wait to get food became long at times. Waitstaff behind the partitions were not very attentive, and neglected to bring out all of the items listed on the menu.
I think the restaurant has done a decent job of trying to create an experience similar to the pre-COVID-19 brunch, but perhaps management should consider offering an a la carte menu in addition to the buffet to offer those of us who are still anxious around strangers during a pandemic another dining option. Or perhaps I should continue to take-out until it's safe to be around strangers.
Overall, it was good place but I wouldn’t come back to eat because it was so expensive.
A buffet and some drinks ended up being more than $100 for two people. I ended up going to a local Mexican restaurant the next day for brunch and it was amazing Price and foodd

Been there before n it was good haven’t been in a while the food was not great n the menu sucked yo be honest so I only had wings and my friend had something else n they drinks not really great and water down so we left and went Somewhere else

This concept has the opportunity to be amazing but with COVID right now the brunch is just not worth the price. Waiters were very friendly and helpful but buffet was avg at best.

First day out since COVID. Celebrating birthday
Came here for a first date and got drinks on the patio. The service was great and I appreciated how well they spaced out the tables. I will definitely be visiting again. Also the drinks were well poured!

Good meal. Very interesting menu with unusual dishes, which we like. But also some standards and classics for the less adventurous. It was nice to sit outside and the food was good. The service was also good. Would definitely go back.

Took forever for table to be assisted and was attacked by every fly in the district
Farmers & Distillers was pretty good for our brunch. We requested an outdoor table on our reservation but we were seated inside, which we weren't too crazy about but we decided to stay. Most of the food was good, but some things were not as tasty as we had hoped. I recognize, however, that their business operations are slightly different due to COVID-19 and that the taste inconsistencies were unusual (we had all been there before and everything was always really good). Our server was very nice, as was everyone in the building. I will definitely be back and would still recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Our reservation was for 1:00pm, they sat us at 1:20pm. For some reason, we had to order the $30 per person brunch (although a “regular” lunch menu was on the table when we sat down). The first few requests were delivered just fine but as the meal progressed the server had to be prompted to clear plates, bring water, etc. We waited 10-15 minutes (looking at dishes that should have been cleared) for the server (Rosario?) to return and take our dessert orders. It never happened. We finally summoned the “manager” and received the order (less than tasty donuts and cheesecake). A total disappointment AND they tacked on an extra four percent for staff who are unable to work due to the COVID shutdowns. I’ll never come back or recommend this place to anyone. The food was pretty uninspiring and the service abysmal.
Our server was excellent! All of the food was good. The cornbread and cinnamon bread were very good. I’m glad we got the mixed basket! I would have been upset had we paid for the Our Bread & Butter option, it doesn’t have the rich flavor of most homemade breads and 1/2 of our boule 1/2 was the same as eating a crouton. The coating on the fried chicken was excellent! The drinks were well poured. We will be back, there are numerous menu items we’re looking forward to trying.

Meal was great and the service was okay, being not at full capacity. F&D is doing social distancing correctly and it was a nice night to eat outside! Our drinks and meals were delicious.
Only criticism I would have is that for dessert, we wanted donuts and after ten minutes of waiting our waiter made it a point to say he brought out the more expensive donuts in place of the ones we wanted because they were sold out. Rather, he should have told us, and not harped about the new donut price and communicated because the donuts were then wasted.
We were visiting DC from Southern California. Found this place online and decided to try even though there were mixed reviews. Loved the ambiance being outside and the restaurant was very clean. We ordered bread thinking that because we had to pay for it that it would be awesome. It was not awesome. In fact, in was somewhat hard and you had to use force to break it apart. The chicken spring rolls had good flavor. My husband had the chicken fried steak. Very tasteless. Expected the batter to have more flavor and it did not. Our 2 year old loved the donut that came with it. I had the southern chicken salad with beer can chicken. Nothing very special about it and the chicken wasn’t anything fantastic. I expected something a little larger for a salad that was $17.99. Overall, atmosphere great and good for small children. Service was great. Food not so much. I love good food and both my husband and I were not impressed. Even though we had planned to order carrot cake and apple pie for desert, we decided to forgo it as we didn’t want to be disappointed again.

With COVID-19, F&D was open for Father’s Day where everyone had to eat outside. It was great weather and what my husband requested for dinner.
Food was great and flavorful as always. Our waitress was awesome and quick with service.

Service was terrible First we waited 15 min before we was even greeted by (kandice) i believe her name was, and the first thing she asked was “who was here first our table or the table beside us” we had to ask other servers for things she never came to refill drinks. We sat without drinks for about 20 minutes and she continued to walk by without the refills we asked for, She acted as if we was bothering her when it came time to actually serve us. She communicated well with all other tables but was very short with us. She didn’t listen to the order given to her which caused us to send the salad back.

Great service, good food, the reason I put a 3 for ambience is because our outdoor table was right on top of a sewage vent and so we smelled sewage almost continuously but didn't realize why until we'd been there a while.
Food was blah, slow and not worth the money. Old dishes, stained glasses.
