Great little find handy for the tron theatre. Good food and service very reasonable pricing.
Booked Esca on chance as it was near Glasgow Green and Barrowlands Ballroom. I was not disappointed, as we were shown quickly to our table and had prompt service. We were both able to order easily from the choices on the pre-theatre menu and I was impressed by the vegetarian 'meatballs' with spaghetti.
The bill was very reasonable for the food and wine we enjoyed and I would return!
Great atmosphere and energy, this is a fantastically handy little restaurant particularly if you're going on to the Tron. Food is simple and unpretentious but tastes great. Staff were fast and efficient and friendly. No complaints and will defo be back.
We enjoyed our meal it was great value for money. The service was prompt and very pleasant
Good food. Busy. Waiting staff very nice. Mid price and reasonable value. Would go back
Definitely! Very handy for the Tron theatre, notwithstanding the 20% discount on your food when you show your tickets. I had the gluten free gamberoni pasta with white wine sauce and it’s the best past I’ve ever had; delicious, not too fatty, not at all stodgy and perfect size portions. We will certainly be back in Esca, found it online👍🏻
Fantastic customer service and experience food was delicious and delightful very rustic and romantic
Booked a table for 5.30pm & arrived early at 5.20pm. Table was ready which was good as we were going across the road to the Tron for a show at 7.30pm - thought that would be enough time. The main course arrived 1 hour 40 minutes later just as the bottle of prosecco ran out! Threw down the food (no time for desert or coffee), paid and headed for the theatre with just minutes to spare! Don't think we'll go to Esca again and especially not before a show.
Slow service but servers were polite. Some food piping hot some Luke warm
First time at Esca, thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My only gripe after ordering a Hendricks G&T, I had to ask for a slice of lemon in my drink!!!
Nice restaurant, food was lovely and staff very helpful.
Found the 2 hour slot not long enough for a large party, felt it was rushed and would have been nicer to sit a bit longer.
Excellent, as ever, and service perfect despite two large, lively parties going on - close to Christmas of course. Relaxed, busy and very good food.
Date night and a birthday dinner rolled into one for the three of us and arriving at 8 on a Friday evening found Esca busy however our booth table near the kitchen was spacious if a little noisy, drinks arrived quickly and the relaxed style of the waiting staff ensured we had plenty f time to chat and finish them before orders were taken ;) starters and mains were all fabulous and if getting to order was relaxed then trying to settle the bill was something of a challenge.
Great service, great food and great atmosphere. We’ve visited a number of times and it never fails to impress. So much so we’ve booked our son’s 21st family dinner at Esca......looking forward to it and sharing the restaurant experience wider with family.
Lovely friendly waitress and waiter great service, served promptly, food was delicious and lovely surroundings would definitely go back. We were going to a concert at the Barrowlands - 5 minute walk, a great restaurant. There were 4 of us and we were all very satisfied with our choices. Many thanks.
Recommended to us by friends, Esca had the right balance - quiet enough to chat but still with atmosphere. Service was friendly and the food was good.
Have eaten at Esca on previous visits to Glasgow and looked forward to coming back. Low key with good food and very friendly staff.
I usually love Esca, because of the amazing food and ambiance. Howe, the evening we went, I found that the girl serving us was very indifferent to us. Like she couldn’t be bothered. It really left me disappointed as the service is usually great.
Food was over cooked when we eventually
got it and definetly wasn't
Value for money .
Hostess claimed to be unable to find my reservation.
Fabulous food, great value, waiting staff attentive but not intrusive. Lovely ambience. Would recommend.
Excellent meal for me and my hubby which was on a deal! The Fillet steak was one of the best we've tasted!
Charming authentic restaurant, hidden just off the busy shopping area. Food, friendly service and prices were excellent. Would recommend it to all whether its for a special occasion, pre theatre or just a quiet meal.
Five of us enjoyed our meal at Esca (after the matinee panto at the Tron theatre). Our table was as we had requested, in the bar area of the restaurant. The staff were pleasant helpful and efficient. We ate from the pre-theatre Christmas menu and everyone enjoyed their food which came to the table hot, was delicious, with generous portions. We all had different food selections for all courses and everyone agreed their food to be delicious The wine we chose was very palatable. We thought the menu price good value, and as we produced our theatre tickets to the staff we received 20% discount off our food bill, which we thought generous. All in all a great dining experience at Esca in every way, and everyone agreed we'd certainly return again in future. Thanks Esca, for delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere.
Lovely wee place. Bit of banter off the waiter.
Had lunch here for first time on Saturday. Fantastic food, friendly staff, exceptional value for money! Will definitely be back!
Excellent value for money, good food and excellent service - thoroughly recommended and will return
Been many times and never been disappointed. The food is good, great atmosphere, good music and overall excellent service from all the staff.
Good food, friendly staff. Went back the following night without a booking and although restaurant very busy we were fitted in.
Booked the table on trip advisor to meet with friends from America. Table ready waitress was great, food excellent and also catered for our friends son in wheelchair plus gluten free options. Would definitely be back and recommend.
I visited Esca for a business lunch with 3 colleagues who were up from Manchester. Great city centre location and parking wasn't a problem. Service was very quick, food lovely and surprisingly cheap for that part of the city. Would definitely return and ideal if in town on a Saturday shopping trip for a rest and some enjoyable food.
Good food. Quick service. Mussels were lovely. Beer expensive though.
As soon as we were seated we were advised that this booking should have been made directly to the restaurant and not via OpenTable. Also that the vouchers should have been void on a Saturday ... all of which could have been sorted before hand.
When we asked about gluten free options all we heard for the supplements to be added to the overall cost. I understand that gluten free food is more expensive but when produce foods increase in cost then the prices to not to up and down to suit the market.
It didn't make for a good overall experience.
Exterior belies what is inside. Comfortable, cheerful atmosphere with good food.
Good at good value in a pleasant atmosphere. Strongly recommended
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
Excellent food at a reasonable price, the staff are very friendly and efficient. Will definitely return.
Good food in nice setting but like so many restaurants nowadays it was difficult to have a conversation due to the loud background music. Tables were very close together.
Food always guaranteed to be excellent, and friendly cheerful staff provide a great service.
Our pasta was so oily we could not eat it we got a free tea and coffee but would have preferred a free meal
