   We made reservations on the way to the restaurant since every other restaurant we saw had to wait due to it being Mother’s Day . When we arrived, there was only three tables taken. They sat my husband and I down next to a family where dad was vaping. Mom was drinking and two kids were very loud . I have children myself so it’s not that I’m not understanding. It’s just when a restaurant is pretty much empty. Why would you put someone directly next to a family with children when they are dining by themselves? We were sat in a corner of the center booth where it felt like time out against a big black wall. No pillows for the hard bench since the kids had them all. We asked to move tables and they told us the table We wanted to move to was taken by a later reservation and did not offer for us to sit anywhere else. I got up and spoke to the lady upfront waiting till she got off her telephone call and asked to sit at the bar at this point. We almost just left and I kinda wish we did. We started off with the Zia fries, which were very interesting. We found them to be far better than the cheese bread We got last time. However, we could not understand why the cheese or whatever topping that was was on the bottom under all the fries and not on the top. The pizza we got took a while to receive and was very disappointing. Visually it looked like it was burnt with hardly any cheese but once you actually got a piece, it was actually doughy inside and cold, overall really bad. I had one small piece and just couldn’t even stomach anymore. My husband tried harder then me and ate the ends off a few pieces to avoid dough but then just said let’s go I’m done. Both our server and the bartender asked if we needed a box ((cause they noticed we didn’t eat it, but neither asked “how was it”) We paid, we left, we will not return

   First time dining here. We had the Meatsiah pizza...it was delicious. Also, had the cheese bread it was just ok. Service was great. Will definitely return to try more items.

   Pizza was really good, they could have put less tomato paste on top though. Or I could have ordered it with less, lesson learned. But overall was really good.

   Our appetizers were really good — Brussels & Butternut squash and Brussels salad, Zia fries, and one more I don’t remember. Our Hawaiian pizza was very good, but the other two were just so loaded with toppings and cheese and overwhelming/too strong of flavors — that was the Paulie and Miranda. Our server was friendly, and service was good. We just might ask for lighter cheese/toppings if we return.

   The pizza was good but the service was horrible. Our server decided to interview an applicant outside and could not get any service. No one could pour me a draft beer because our server was the bartender. I actually got up went outside and asked her if she could get me another beer. She did but no apologies. She asked if we wanted anything else and my wife wanted the apple pie to go. The server went back outside and continued the interview. Another 15 minutes go by, I get up go outside and asked our server for the apple pie and our check. She did come inside and did that. I had my credit card out ready to pay before she went back outside. I paid and she was lucky I left a 10% tip. I'm affiliated with restaurants in Birmingham and WE NEVER interview people for jobs when our restaurants are open and we have guests that need to be taken care of. You are lucky I gave you a 1 star. I would have given you ZERO stars. Very disappointing and won't be back.
