The dinner we had at Belmond was the best night and highlight of our stay on Maroma beach. The setting and service were outstanding throughout. Nothing compares. The food was wonderful. We resolved that we will stay at the Belmond next year- it was that fantastic.
For some reason it was hard to get Mexican food inside a Mexican food restaurant. They are trying too hard to have their own creative spin instead of just focusing on the basics. The music inside was elevator music instead of Latin or Mexican. Tourists come to Mexico for Mexican food and music...not just the sun and beach.
Outstanding and very creative. Everything was great and a unique experience in fine dining.
We were staying at the Viceroy and decided to visit the Belmond, which was our first choice for a hotel stay but they had no rooms for our trip dates. We wanted to see the Belmond and have dinner in hopes of staying there on a future visit. I made the dining reservation through Open Table and accepted contact by hotel/restaurant. We spent money and time to travel to Belmond from our hotel only to be told they would not honor the reservation I had made, they didn't even let us pass the security check point. They said they were full of hotel guests. Why did Belmond have Open reservations on Open Table and not contact us if they were full of hotel patrons? Belmond should have notified us that they could not fulfill our reservation prior to our arrival and once realizing their mistake should have offered to call and make a reservation elsewhere for us or paid our cab or first cocktail rather than leave us in a lurch. I called my concierge at Viceroy and he got us into Rosewood which was amazing! I highly recommend Viceroy and Rosewood for service, excellent food and atmospheres. Belmond is off my top places to visit list.
