El Puerto - Fairmont
Outstanding food and service. Very impressive.
Apparently Tuesday is buffet night every week. We came to try specific items on the menu that were not available on the Tuesday night buffet. I think this should be clearly posted on their website and Open Table.
Also be aware the cost is $60 USD per person. That is a ridiculous price.....
Food is excellent but this restaurant has vacant and uncaring service. Waiters disappear and return every 15-30 minutes. Made an Open Table for our anniversary which was noted in the reservation. Beyond the very long waits for attention, there was no acknowledgement of our celebration at all. Very disappointed.
Note that the charge for sparkling water is more than US$10 for a bottle. Drinks are cheaper.
As a note, this is the opposite of other services at the Faitmont.
En general fue una experiencia estupenda; el restaurante es muy bonito, la atención del personal y de nuestro mesero fue EXCELENTE al igual que los alimentos! Felicidades!! Seguramente regresaremos!
Fairmont Mayakoba’s Premier Restaurant
We dined here a number of of times during our stay and were in raptures with El Puerto! From the very warm welcome that we received from Jocelyn, to the wonderful service all our waiters to the beautiful food and amazing space you can’t go wrong. Would return and that the best recommendation we can give!
We loved both meals we had hear - absolutely delicious!!!!
Interesting mix of Latin-Asian. Each dish has some influence if not pure Latin or asain. Tempura shrimp quite good. Beef short rib also good. Duck bun a was dry unless you dip in the mayo based dip. Garlic bok choy good and spicy.
The celebrity chef left and the new menu and food was a far cry from the past. We have been there at least 8 times over the years and this place was the favorite for all of myakoba. We won’t be coming back. Same can be said for La Brisa. A most excellent menu is now vanilla and was mediocre at best.
Great food and would have been lovely ambience but for the small child running circles around the restaurant - loud, seriously running, parents did nothing :(.
The service was surprisingly slow. But again the food was very good.
my Companion was done with her meal before 1/2 mine arrived (ordered 2 separate sushi items for my entree). They took my food and her entree off bill which was satisfactory since I wasn’t interested in waiting for the rest of my food to arrive so late, but major disappointment. Good food ruined by bad kitchen timing
Food was excellent, especially the short rib with noodles, prawn tempura, skirt steak tagalog. Thanks to Juan Luis for the amazing service, we had a wonderful dinner!
We loved our dinners at El Puerto. We tried so many items on the menu. Loved the sushi.
The tofu was great. The waiters were wonderful. And the manager i think Jocelyn and her other lovely lady hostess were kind and suberb. The chef Fernando came to see us to ensure we were satisfied. Great place to eat.
The food was great. The view is amazing as well. Highly recommend the sushi rolls.
Excellent restaurant. Food was top notch and the service was attentive. Highly recommended if staying at the Fairmont Mayakoba!
Bonne nourriture dans un cadre agréable. Bon service.Rapport qualité prix faible. inégalité dans la qualité des plats. Dispendieux!
The sushi was amazing
Outstanding service. Lovely setting. Menu is somewhat limited. Great for couples
Interesting restaurant, I was expecting more. The place is not as high end as the hotel suggests. Food was very good, service good and prices really high.
They lack good desserts.
Presentaciones impecables. El ceviche roll es demasiado grande, no se puede comer de un solo bocado como normalmente tendría que comerse un rollo, de sabor muy rico. El bacalao estuvo espectacular y los dumplings con helado de chai están para morirse.
Jorge provided us with some of the most excellent service we received during our stay at the Fairmont Mayakoba. The Latin-Asian fusion cuisine the restaurant serves is unique and delicious. We wanted to try a nice tequila after dinner, so Jorge suggested the Clasé Azul (which was great!!). Highly reccomend visiting this restaurant during your stay.
Fantastic meal, amazing friendly service. Inventive menu.
El Puerto had an incredible menu and was part of our hotel meal plan. Amazing food, relaxed service timing (not rushed) and excellent service.
Excellent,the food was truly memorable
This restaurant offers refined, high quality food, most of which have a distinct Asian touch. Sushi and raw fish fans will most certainly find what they like, but there are also cooked, meaty and spicy options to choose from. Service personnel is great as you would expect from a superior hotel/restaurant. If you can, try to sit outside to enjoy a stunning view over the lake and rivers of the Fairmont Mayakoba resort. All in all a very good restaurant which anyone should plan to visit at least once during their stay at the hotel. For those who did not book the all inclusive wine & dine option, prices may seem excessive despite the food & service quality - therefore if you want to enjoy good food & drinks without worrying during your stay, this option is absolutely recommended!
Very casual, food is nothing special. Service was very good.
Awesome food and service! Could not be happier.
Food was amazing. Sushi was fresh, fried rice was a must and the service was great
Food is overpriced for the quality. One would expect better food when spending $60USD+ for a meal.
Really Disappointing. Ordinary tastes and poor staff!
The restaurant is classy and overlooks the bridge and canals leading to the guest quarters. Lovely in the evening after the sunset. The Latin-Asian menu is interesting but not particularly flavorful. Drink menu is also interesting, wines and champagne are nice also. For dessert, I was surprised by a lovely birthday message with my cake...very nice touch . I would suggest that smoking of cigars be limited to an area separate from the restaurant. The smell is not appreciated by the dinner guests. Service is impeccable. Overall very good experience.
from the lovely hostesses, to the great service and of course the amazing food experience, the El Puerto is a must when visiting Fairmont Mayakoba. Try the Omakase Tasting for 2... a delight!
Food and service were superb! Our first night there, they got us in early for dinner as I had made a later reservation. Our server was amazing and very attentive.
We had a bunch of appies, our favourites were the empanadas and duck confit tacos. Nigiri sushi was very good...can only say good things about this place
Ulisis is the absolute best Mixologist in Mayakoba! We absolutely loved the experience. We came during Hurricane Season, although the weather was spectacular during our stay the volume of tourists was minimal; leaving the resorts almost to ourselves!!!! We specifically requested special pairing with our appetizers, main and dessert; each was phenomenal! Best food & Drink in 7 days! We will absolutely be back! Edamame XO, Snapper & Shrimp Ceviche, Cucumber California Roll are all Craveable!
Wonderful food, drinks and setting. Service was excellent!
Fantastic experience from start to finish. We were very well taken care of. I am in a wheelchair and they have ramps for wheelchairs or baby strollers.
We had reservations for dinner here and were seated on the outside deck facing the ocean. Lovely having the sounds of the waves as the sun set to a nice dinner. I ordered the seafood risotto, absolutely amazing; the shrimp are large we also ordered the lobster mac and cheese it too was good. Please allow room for dessert I had the chocolate almond bomb and my wife had the chocolate flan. Both were amazing and beautiful in presentation. You will not be disappointed and you will leave with an amazing experience.
Staff were friendly and attentive. Dinner was very good. The fried rice entree was different and tasty.
If you are traveling with kids, they have a small kids buffet for dinner (pizza, meat, veggies, small pastry) or they can choose from the hotel's standard kids menu. The tiradito was the best option and we went back the next night. The short rib entree felt like frozen meat at a wedding dinner, not worth the price. The Steak Tagalog was good but better to order Medium since my order of Med-Rare was basically rare. The sangria cocktail was very good, as was the brussel sprouts.
