Friendly staff and great service however the food is definitely imitation Chinese and anyone expecting real dumplings and gyoza will be highly disappointed. Cocktails were both pretty and tasty. Sushi rice was squashed and paste-like. Miso soup is too weak in flavour. Shame about the food as we were really looking forward to our meal here, but will not be going back.
Delicious food and excellent service. Only issue I had was that the table was in quite a dimly lit part of the restaurant.
Do not order a mixed sushi platter for 50 pounds. You get 28 bad quality sushi, (itsu sushi looks better than those ones) which definitely not worth the money you are paying.
The food quality went down, unfortunately.. Not sure if I will be coming back anytime soon. But the drinks and cocktails are good/
Great food, as good as I remembered it from ten years previously. The decor and room ambience are very good.
I’ve been coming here for many tears and it’s akways consistent
Paper tablecloth in an average 40£ each restaurant is not acceptable. Served a glass of white wine mixed with water (waiter recognised error). Overcooked edamame. Prawn pad thai with n.3 small prawns and super sticky korean sauce. Did not like anything apart from the atmosphere.
It's expensive..... but it's great
As usual, this restaurant I a going to since years. It has a tradition whenever I am in London. Food is nice, Asian fusion style, staff is nice and friendly.
Kings Road anyway a lovely spot.
Menu is dated and food quality has become average.
I am local to 8/8. I have gone for many years but had not been back for over one year as my last experience was poor. I went back on Saturday with family and friends. This restaurant has lost its way. The food is average for the price and the interior is now so dated. The restaurant was half empty an d when I booked I could not got the time slot I wanted. I will not be going back. Our bill was 590+ for three adults and two teenagers. I expect better for hat price!
Would like to have rating for how hot the food is as san Chou bou was full of jalapeños which I’m not used to. Our desserts came at different times which was disappointing as we couldn’t eat together.
Overall the food was very good quality.
Lovely restaurant. Great food. Staff were very attentive. Would definitely recommend
Great experience overall. Good bar, good drinks, good food. Always a fun place to eat.
I have been to 8/8 lots of times before and always been really impressed, but the food was very disappointing this time. We had the squid dim sum which was all batter and the spicy tuna roll and crunchy sushi were just heavy and not tasty. Service was also a bit lacklustre. The butternut squash dim sum was yummy though. Feeling like maybe we just ordered badly.
It is quite expensive by the time you have all the bits and pieces but the food is excellent. Patrick the Manager was exceptional and our waiter once we got acquainted was very helpful.
An amazing menu and a buzzing ambiance. Service was slow to warm up but fun by the end. Well worth a visit and I will dine there again.
The food was, I must say, pretty wonderful. We ate crispy chilli squid, kimchi edamame and the yellowfin tuna to start with, then the black cod (I though better than Nobu's) and the chicken, with excellent brown rice and broccoli. The chicken was weirdly out of place in this otherwise excellent menu: it was like eating at one of those Peruvian/Japanese fusion restaurants that hadn't really... fused. Still, that was our ordering, nothing to do with the quality of the kitchen.
At first, the service was a little disengaged, but the cocktails were excellent and the manager was terrific. I do wish they'd do something about the lighting, which is strangely flat. Maybe little lights/candles on the tables? It just adversely affects the ambience. But we would definitely go back!
Super helpful waiter, brilliant with gluten free options
Been to this restaurant many a time and has never failed to impress me. Delicious food, great staff, highly recommend.
We went for the Bottomless Brunch and were disappointed by the limited menu, particularly since there were only three types of dim sum to choose from. The dim sum did not taste as good as we would have expected for Eight Over Eight, given the price. Excellent service though
Really enjoyable, our waiter, Pascal, was charming.
Good food and atmosphere.
Very accomodating for my guest who was 25 mins late and table kept.
Enjoyed a delicious meal here on our first visit. Helpful waiter, varied menu, good service. Would be happy to return.
Food was exceptional, the service was a bit erratic. Its very expensive but I would go again for the pink shrimp and black cod alone. Cocktails were lovely, great place for friends to catch up and special occasions.
Excellent Sunday lunch with 40 %off , very good food and service thank you
A beautiful restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. The cocktails were excellent and very moreish. Can get a little bit pricey but we had an absolutely fantastic evening overall. Highly recommended.
Everything perfect. The food was delicious and very good service
The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious.
Always lovely with fantastic food. The service is amazing and love the chilli salt squid.
It is one of my family’s favourite restaurants, but this time around we were really disappointed. We had a 3.30 reservation for 6 people. By the time everyone got there, it was about 3.40. Our guests have never been there, & after this I don’t know if they would go back. As soon as we all set down , they asked for our order bc kitchen is closing at 4.
I completely understand this sometimes happens, bc restaurants need to close the kitchen before dinner, but this was not known to us when we made the reservation & put my credit card down.
One of our favourite parts of this restaurant is the fact that we didn’t order enough, we can always order more. It was a mad rush to explain the menu to our guests, and decide what we were going to order before the kitchen closes. It was extremely frustrating & disappointing.
18th bday celebration
So much better 5 years ago
Won’t be going back
Excellent food and cocktails! Try the Korean BBQ lamb and an armagnac sour, you will not be disappointed. The restaurant had a decent number of patrons despite the icy pavements and extremely cold weather, so they must be doing something right.
Great table great service
Dated interior, slow service, not v tasty dumplings
Very noisy, servers were helpful and polite but overwhelmed. Food rather mediocre.
Firstly we arrived 15 minutes early, so we were told to sit in the bar, that was fine we had a drink. 40 minutes later we were still waiting to be seated even though others came in after us and seated before us. I asked when we might go to our table only to see 7 empty table so in the dining room. Were they even going to seat us??
The food is nothing like the instagram pictures, the tables are covered in a paper cloth like going to an all you can eat buffet. Although we are having the deal going we wanted a good experience and that’s not what you get here. Service was terrible, all waiting staff had an attitude. I would never go again!
Went for Happy Hour and then for a meal (arrived at 6pm and ate at 9pm we loved the cocktails
and atmosphere that much!) for my 21st Birthday. Happy Hour was amazing and definitely worth the money, cocktails were fab and did the job! Table was 15 minutes delayed so we received a bottle of champagne on the house, fab service. Food was quick and brilliant. Recieved a nice little dessert for my bday which was lovely.
Nice place but now dated. Service friendly but slow. Food well presented but no better then your local Asian restaurant. Better around.
Love this place, always great food and a buzzing atmosphere. Try the pork belly!
