We live across the street and have been multiple times in the past that were excellent. I don’t know if there was a staffing issue but the service was cringe worthy and food sub par.. it will be a while before we come back. Very disappointed because we love Del Frisco.
Wonderful views in a relaxed atmosphere. Service is pretty good. Food is great.
Service was bad aside from waitress. She was amazing. Food was average at best. Wouldn't return.
Overall great place. I would eat here again in a minute
Half of our food was excellent, the other half was horrible. Under and over cooked entrees. Service was PAINFULLY slow the whole experience. Embarrassed we brought people here...they did not enjoy it.
Overall the experience was sub par. I was seated for my reservation relatively quickly but that’s where the Good experience came to a halt. My server Seth was ok and did the bare minimum. He brought our drinks, took our order and then we didn’t see him for 45 minutes until he brought us the bill after we had to ask a Busser for it. The steak that I ordered was very charred and was not the medium rare I asked for. There was no bread at all whatsoever. I asked if there was anything else I would be able to order as an appetizer and was told no nothing else I would eat…… my bill was roughly $250 for my wife and I, but because of the experience it felt like a $50 bill restaurant. Only thing that went right was the sunset. Something the restaurant couldn’t fully control.
everything was great except the steaks, which was a bit disappointing. This is by far one of my favorite places to dine because of the filets but the all came out either rare or well done. it was my friend’s bday and i always praise this place and it was just a but disappointing. ordered three medium rare filets, mine was rare to almost being purple in the middle , the bday girl steak was fully cooked and my other friend was medium well.
Truly a dining experience. Great for special occasions. Outstanding views from the 2nd floor or rooftop dining, great people watching on street level; large windows provide a view from any seating. The food is a gastro delight. Their steaks are well-aged and tender, juicy, full of flavor, with many choice cuts. Seafood is fresh and prepared well, but could be more flavorful and creative. The sides are a nice variety, really good meal accompaniments and all taste great. The potato choices are both super good, and the vegetables choices are perfect. The lobster mac n’ cheese was average to me, limited on the lobster meat and too creamy for my taste. The service is top notch; Jessica is truly a very personable server with really good knowledge of the menu and wine list, gives great detailed descriptions of the cocktails. We have been here twice and will definitely dine here again.
Had to wait 30 minutes to be seated (although I had a reservation). Upon being seated, ordered an appetizer and waited another 20 minutes for the item. Upon placing my order, after waiting an additional 30 minutes, I decided to just leave. Management was very apologetic and understanding. Probably won’t be returning.
i go to del frisco all the time and i love it. all the staff is very nice and well trained. i will definitely keep returning.
We had moldy berries and we were still charged for the dish. The service was ok, the food was good. Disappointing
Excellent service. Great food. Really enjoyable evening.
For a steakhouse we expected a lot higher quality food. My steak was way overdone and my boyfriends was way underdone. We could tell the quality of the meat was just not up to par especially with the prices. We have had top quality beef for around the same price. It was honestly just extremely underwhelming and not worth over $200 for the both of us. The highlight was the creamed corn... which the employees kept asking if we were loving as if they knew the steaks weren’t great. Will not be returning.
It was great!
Servers were not attentive. You could tell they cared more about larger parties than about our 2 top. Nice upcharge on the $7 butter btw. We waited over an hour for our dinner and received apps before our drinks. Didn’t get seated until 10 mins after our reservation- missed golden hour photos. Views were not great from the second tier balcony we sat at because the palm trees are at eye level so it blocks your view when seated of the water.
Will not be back. Plenty of other steakhouse options for less & better service.
Overall it was a good dinner. They did not have any of the New Zealand Sav blancs..Ordered 3 different bottles, poor waiter came back empty handed.Opted out for CA one. Great service, good fod
We've been to the San Diego Del Frisco's many times, this was our "less favorite" time, even though the server was nice and friendly he took a long time to come back and ask if anything else was needed, we were missing condiments and did not get them before we finished our appetizers.
Our steaks even though they did come out at the right temperature, they were not as tasty as previous times. I don't know if they changed chefs or meat supplier. And when you're spending over $1,000 on dinner, you would expect top quality on everything. Will give them an additional opportunity in the future, but definitely will visit other steak houses in the area first.
The service was excellent
Graduation dinner for our daughter 👩🏻🎓. As always, del friscos delivered!!!
Kudos to the del friscos staff!!!
I usually don't go out of my way to do reviews, my wife does haha but.... I've been to several Del Frisco's over the years so had high expectations. The positives, our waiter was great-Cecil, the food was slightly above average. The downside was the music is terrible, instead of having a nice jazz vibe or they had a mixed bag of rock and techno which I definitely did not expect at a high-end steakhouse. They also had an active pilates class about 50 feet away which was playing a bunch of techno stuff with loud thumping. They cater to business people of course and we had some guy doing facetime right behind us sharing his food with whowever he talked to which were several. The Manager waked by and dint say a word like" hey, mine saving that for when you get outta here, this is a fine dining establishment"-which I know it is not. I would spend my money elsewhere for a good steak...
We have eaten at Del Friscos on numerous occasions, and as always, the food during our most recent visit was spectacular. Every component of our meals was prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. All staff were extremely welcoming, professional, and accommodating. And of course, the setting is lovely. Everyone we encountered was very respectful of COVID concerns, particularly related to masks, and all tables were spaced to allow for proper distancing. Eric and Casey were delightful and especially kind to us as we celebrated our 48th anniversary. Another terrific experience!
The atmosphere is amazing. The service is 5 stars. Sergio and all staff are amazing.
This is a steak house, a very upscale one at that. They do steak very well and have a good variety, but just a few other items other than steak.
But like most other steak places, their sides and desserts are just ordinary. Our banana bread pudding dessert was bland and dry and our creamed spinach lacked the bacon and mushroom flavor as advertised.
The prices are very high for what you are served but it's a nice location and a lovely venue.
We were never offer my request of view seating
The service and food were amazing. Such a great time.
Wonderful view of SanDiego’s Embarcadero. Great selection of Seafood & Beef dishes, very creative desserts! Attentive, helpful, friendly servers. Overall a very pleasure full experience.
Probably won't be back. Extremely slow service and left unattended for long stretches. Took 2.5 hrs to complete a meal ordered at sit down. Very expensive. I would take Ruth Chris over this place.
Went out to celebrate a graduation dinner. Ambience was great. Loved the VIP cocktail. Got the filet and lobster combo. It didn’t look like a lot of food but it was filling along with 2 sides. Loved the bread that was served.
The food was great! The service was not very good. Mentioned it to one of the managers and he really didn’t care.
After reading a couple of threads, both good and bad, we decided to go to Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in San Diego. A nice atmosphere was met with a waitress who seemed to be having a not-so-great evening. She was short with my daughter (whom we were celebrating her Graduation!), and rarely came by the table. We ordered steak and salmon; my daughter and wife enjoyed their meals, however mine came out raw and burnt. When I tried to get the waitress attention (on three separate occasions), I went to the hostess and asked for a manager. He came by and I asked my wife to rate our waitress, she said 4 of 10, I said 5.5. He said we were not the first that evening, and when we spoke about the stake, he (as the chef too) said she put the order in as bloody inside and charred outside! Needless to say, it wasn’t ordered that way.
Poor Service, a loud atmosphere and okay food!
I’ve been to this restaurant in the past and the food and service was great! My son and I had decided to have dinner here before we headed to an event. And we sat down at 6:40 and order drinks and appetizers right away. 40 minutes later our appetizers were still not delivered. I asked our server if he could check on it and he apologized and said he thought it was taking too long as well. The calamari never came but he brought out the tuna tartare. The calamari never came, he didn’t offer to bring it out, he just said he was sorry it never came out. You can tell that our food was rushed, the mashed potatoes were burnt on top as if they were sitting under a hot light for a bit, and the quality of our food was not comparable to my first experience at this restaurant. The cleanliness of the restaurant beginning with our table, I was not great.I had to change seats because my chair had a specs if white residue from who knows what... it was crusty. The server joked about it perhaps being a cleaning product. We didn’t get to enjoy our dinner because now it’s been an hour and a half and we had to rush out to get to our event. The server said he was so sorry for the terrible service in food and that he took off the calamari off of our check. Well duh!! Why in the world would I pay for some thing I didn’t consume? And the fact that he commented that made things worse for us because it made it seem as if he was doing us a favor. He offered to bring us a complementary dessert but never brought any menus or any items to choose from, by this point it was already too late. No manager ever came to our table. This was a very disappointing experience.
Ordered the Wagyu tomahawk ribeye. Felt it was overpriced and not as tasty as the standard ribeye.
I made reservations on open table for a birthday and the food was great but we were seated at the bar which we were not expecting and also i was disappointed that i specifically put birthday but that was ignored. The food was great, but the overall experience was not the greatest.
Enjoyed the tasting menu and lobster truffle butter. Great service and wonderful outdoor table with view of San Diego bays
Seating hostess was kind of rude. She wanted to seat us in the bar with the music blasting. I’m hard of hearing and wanted to be able to enjoy the experience. She seemed annoyed when I asked her for a different table. Food was really good, although my cousin ordered her filet rare and it was well done.
Went to DelFriscos for our anniversary, in my opinion customer service leaves a bit to be desired, quality of the meat was good, however, cooking level of meat completely missed, and for a fine dining steakhouse experience definitely something you cant miss
The services was great from the bar team, but the food was average.
