Location and atmosphere is lively and upbeat. The service from the waitress was simply not up to par for the price and goal of the restaurant. It was not horrible but lacking considering the $300+ dinner. We were seated at a table with no working lighting from the canopy over us. I would have liked to been moved after the concern of no lighting but was not even offered a different table so we ended up using our phones light to see the menu. The food was ok but not great. Quality of salmon was questionable and the ny strip was way over peppered. Overall it is a great tourist spot restaurant, but for locals that are use to eating at that caliber of restaurant it is not the best.
40th birthday and they made it absolutely amazing! Thanks Erik for being such a great waiter!!
Amazing butter cake
Great steak. Ok service from my server.
This was by far the best restaurant that I have tried. The person I went with and I have never been here before. This is an amazing experience, the atmosphere is great, the views are great. Cecil was an amazing attribute to the service he was attentive, informed and gave amazing recommendations. We will be back more often and request him. Great staff also, the spacing between courses was perfect, the portion sizes were on point, the filet migon and petite lobster tail Double Eagle Entree was perfect. The Château mashed potatoes was perfected and matched perfectly with the recommended wine from Cecil. Seriously I have never experienced such service. Worth every dime and then some.
Sad to walk to a restaurant with a really bad manager and waiter. I remember going to the original DelFrisco in Dallas with my parents in the late 70s. A restaurant with class and great food but most important with people working that will treat you and make you feel great. It is not fair for Del Frisco after the big effort opening a very beautiful restaurant in SD it is sad to have people in your troops spoiling it.
Love it! We’ll be back again.
The special event we went to Del Friscos for, was everything I wanted it to be. Thank you to Michael and the entire staff, it's a team effort at DF, for a great experience.
Definitely recommend if you love good steaks! also outstanding service!
Amazing food and service
Restaurant had three wedding receptions on this Saturday night. This is not an excuse to provide an absolute horrendous experience for paying customers. Arrived at 8:15 for my reservation and ended up eating getting the steaks at 10:10pm. When the steaks arrived, mine was cold and undercooked, while my guests was overcooked and cold. Shrimp were overcooked and chewy. Waiter was apologetic and comped part of the meal, but overall, experience was terrible.
Horrible experience. I’m never one to write reviews but literally had an awful birthday dinner here.
Celebrating my son’s Master’s degree.
We had the Wagyu and Strip steak. Both were very good. It was quiet because of Covid, I think. The service was excellent.
Our server Rachel was very accommodating and truly made the experience memorable. The food was excellent. I am booking another reservation for next week.
Fantastic food and ambiance, service was great will go again.
Matt our server was great! Took care of us!
Steak didn’t come out how I asked, cocktails were lousy, and lobster Mac and cheese was bland.
Third time’s the charm. We know Del Frisco’s has a great reputation so our first visit not long after they originally opened in San Diego was great! Second time left a lot to be desired. The outdoor space was an appealing offer during Covid and the experience redeemed the restaurant in our minds. Service was great, food was perfect, and most importantly we felt safe dining there during Covid.
It was our first time coming and Cecil was amazing! Everything was cooked perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
As Steakhouses go it seems the original luster that put that first restaurant on-the-map doesn't equate to all locations and over-time.
Certainly a step-up from an Outback experience but far below competition in others like Cut / Las Vegas, Sundance PRIME in Palo Alto, CA, and others ...
- service was okay but timing of plates was off and we waited a long time for apps and main meal.
- a wedding was taking place downstairs and music was too loud during the whole dinner making it hard to talk and enjoy the ambiance.
- steak was not cooked to temperature requested. Scalloped potatoes were bland.
We had a good time at Del Frescos. It wasn’t quite the experience we were expecting. Food was good but overpriced.
The food was good but not great, but they charge like it’s excellent. For the price of Del Frescos I would have rather gone to a better restaurant. They are charging 5 star prices for 3.5 star food.
Service was great.
Amazing! Great food great service!
Amazing food and wine selections
The ambience of the restaurant was perfect for our anniversary. The view of the bay from the terrace was beautiful. The wedge salad, and dessert were really good, but I was disappointed with the our steaks and sides.
Food was good but service was better. One of great steak houses in the country. Wine list was easy on pocket book and nice selection
Food was good, ambiance amazing. Service was a bit slower than I liked, but it was very busy and COVID makes stuff weird. Not really their fault. Food wasn't worth the high price. It was really good, but pretty overpriced for what you get. Mainly talking about the price of the sides.
We wanted to love this place, but we had an average to below average experience. The evening started off well, and the service was decent. When our food came out, all 5 of our meals were luke warm and borderline cold. In our opinion, that is truly unacceptable for a $50+ dollar steak, and pricey sides. Additionally, I ordered my steak medium well (I was very clear about this), and it came out rare, so they had to grill it longer. When we mentioned our disappointment to management and our server, they acknowledged and never came back to check on us again! The manager did send out free dessert and comped our appetizers, however, with a $1,000 dollar bill, we expected much more than this. At the very LEAST, they should have come back to apologize again and ask how they could make improvements in the future. The food tasted delicious, but the experience is half the fun when dining out, so we likely will not be back:(
I took my wife to Del Frisco's for her birthday and we were once again thoroughly disappointed in the temperature of our steaks. She order her ribeye medium well and it arrive medium to medium rare (she didn't want to send it back). I ordered my steak medium and it arrived medium rare. I sent it back and after several minutes (enough for our sides to get cold) it arrived well done/overcooked and dry.
This is happened to me several times in the past at Del Frisco's....it seems as they have a problem cooking steaks to the correct temperature. Service and sides were great.
We won't be going back for steaks again....perhaps the bar for drinks and appetizers but not for steaks.
Out of town family dinner
Seabass was well under cooked might as well served Sushi. Filet Mignon was over cooked from medium, very dry and had a crunch to it. The lobster mac was watery, no flavor, just overall horrible. Thoroughly disappointed in my dining experience at this Del Frisco location in San Diego. The Seabass was taken off the bill, but everything else was not worth the money spent. I've had better from Del Frisco's but on 9/25 completely missed the mark.
Wine list, entrees, and service were wonderful, although the Mac n Cheese left something to be desired. At a restaurant of this caliber, The lobster Mac didn’t have a single chunk of lobster meat in it, and it was pretty off-putting.
Sat outside which was nice. Food was really delicious! Prices were average for fine dining, about $130 2ppl. Waiter was just ok
Appetizer was blah we had raw tuna, not much taste.
Ribéye steak was fairly good, and the lemon cake was probably the worst cake I have ever had. Too expensive for the poor quality of the food.
Kind of disappointed. Service was not great. Server never came by to check if we needed anything after food arrived. The Au gratin potatoes were cold. Would of sent them back, but by the time the waiter came by we were done eating.
I know I continue to rave about them - but they are just that GOOD. The food is always fresh, hot, beautifully plated & just plain delicious. This location really stepped up during the pandemic offering grocery items for sale along with their to go menu, making addicts out of most of us!
If you have never tried Del Frisco's San Diego - I assure you from the back to the front of house - your experience will be excellent - RUN don't WALK.
Excelente comida, gran ubicación y vista, por el precio hubiera esperado mejor servicio.
