Appetizer was blah we had raw tuna, not much taste.
Ribéye steak was fairly good, and the lemon cake was probably the worst cake I have ever had. Too expensive for the poor quality of the food.
Kind of disappointed. Service was not great. Server never came by to check if we needed anything after food arrived. The Au gratin potatoes were cold. Would of sent them back, but by the time the waiter came by we were done eating.
I know I continue to rave about them - but they are just that GOOD. The food is always fresh, hot, beautifully plated & just plain delicious. This location really stepped up during the pandemic offering grocery items for sale along with their to go menu, making addicts out of most of us!
If you have never tried Del Frisco's San Diego - I assure you from the back to the front of house - your experience will be excellent - RUN don't WALK.
Excelente comida, gran ubicación y vista, por el precio hubiera esperado mejor servicio.
My fiancé’s dinner with 9 of us was absolutely perfect! I am a huge fan of del Frisco’s nationwide, our first time at the San Diego location, and was one of our best dinners.
Thank you to the amazing waitstaff bartenders and chef’s
Not sure why Del Frisco’s keeps having such high reviews. I decided to celebrate my 15th year anniversary with my wife there last night. Wrong choice. We were given a table downstairs, by the walkway. My surprise was that there “were” tables open upstairs, with a view, but they would just not make them available for us. I didn’t argue about it because, at the end of the day, I just wanted to have a pleasant time with my wife and enjoy the night. But the scene and ambience downstairs is dead, practically non-existing. No music, no décor, nothing. No significant or unique experience out of dinning at Del Frisco’s. We ordered three entries to start off: tuna tartare, crab cake, and soup of the day (lobster bisque). The crab cake was good, I will recognize that. But the soup was extremely salty, and the tuna was tasteless. We actually left all the tuna. After that we were not ordering a main entrée. I will put one star because it is the lowest I can give, but also because of the crab cake, as well as the waiter, who was nice. In the end I tried to enjoy the night with my wife because that is how I approach things. But Del Frisco’s could have done a lot better, especially after hearing it was my 15th year anniversary. Simply, I am not going back, and I am making sure my friends know about this to save themselves the bad experience.
Superb food. Great ambience. Wonderful service.
I do not mind paying over $250 for a steak dinner for two if we get an experience to match the price. However, I have to say I was disappointed with our 1st experience dining here. Service was very slow, steak was nothing special and both steak and lobster were a little dry. Butter did not arrive on the table until shortly after our entrée was served and they forgot to bring our side dish until after we were done with entrée. Server did take care of the side for us. All, in all would probably try another steak restaurant when celebrating a special occasion or at least wait until Covid is over.
I made my reservation for more than 2 weeks, and I have requested in the notes to be seated by the view because my fiance and I were celebrating our anniversary. We arrived there 10 minutes before our reservation time, and the manager sat us downstairs, literally by the walkway, and we were like to her, that is not what we requested, I made the reservation a long time ago and requested to be seated upstairs because it is our anniversary dinner. She was so rude and did not even offer any accommodation for us. She just kept saying if you want upstairs, it will be a 1-hour wait at least? Why would we wait if we made a reservation already upstairs? It is so ridiculous, that was our first time there and really wanted to have a nice experience because we always dine in that area and wanted to try different restaurants. Our waitress was nice though, but I wish that the manager would be nicer because this should be a fancy restaurant for what we are paying for. The food was average, we definitely have had a better experience at the neighboring steakhouse.
Sienna was so sweet and helpful! Her customer service was very welcoming and she went above and beyond to get us the table we wanted (because we are those type of customers). Food was great, everything came out in good timing. Thank you Sienna!
Long wait for main course service, nearly 1hr, and then the steaks were not hot. At that point we just wanted to eat and leave. Service friendly, staff just seemed a bit overwhelmed. Au Grautin potatoes were cut in big chunks not sliced. Have eaten at several DelF and this time was disappointing. Hopefully will improve when COVID is better.
Great food...seemed overly expensive when the two of us shared the entire meal.
Great food, service and relaxing patio to enjoy the night air. The menu was superb but with limitations during COVID they were out of a few items. I had the 45 day aged prime top sirloin and it was amazing. The sides were lacking but the steaks were the star of the meal. Their drink menu was fun to inspire those who keep it basic. Overall we had a great meal
I had the Colorado Lamb Rack, it was very good. The purée that accompanied it was decent. We tried the Meatball appetizer, excellent in our opinion. Because of COVID situation we sat outside and the lights take a bit of time to kick on (if your seated in certain areas) so we spent a bit of time in darkness, but that’s out of the control of the restaurant as they obviously added extra tables outside to allow for more outside dining due to COVID.
Service was good. Location is nice, overlooking the bay and Lane Field. I felt the lamb dish was a little overpriced (though the Colorado Lamb Rack is large).
Like always, the del frisco’s team always deliver. Thank you for making it an awesome birthday dinner.
First time there and it won’t be our last.
Friendly staff from the door to the table.
Wonderful menu. Food presentation and quality.
First home purchase
Server seemed a bit overwhelmed. Could have been a bit more attentive with water and drinks.
Our waiter was fantastic and really attentive! Food was delicious and steak cooked perfectly!
We were seated for outdoor dining due to California pandemic regulations. Next to us was a group in bathing suits and minimal cover-ups. Web site says dress code business casual. I didn’t have an issue until they requested a heater to be placed - it was still 75 degrees out. After discussing with management, we had to move to different seating. On top of that, it was extremely slow service- 40minute wait just to get 6 oysters. Entire meal over two and a half hours - seemed like forever. Food quality was average. Managers were very responsive but it was not a good experience
We had a reservation for outdoor and they seated us by the exit next to the kitchen exhaust fans which reeked of grease. Asked to be moved to a different table and were forced to wait for an available table. The service was poor at best. It felt like we were forgotten about multiple times. We ordered our food in a timely manner and it the kitchen took an hour to bring us our food. Food was decent but not worth waiting an hour to get it.
Pretty bad service tables were not ready place looked a little messy food was ok nothing extraordinary specially for the price rather go somewhere else next time
Food was great! We got the bone in rib eye and the lobster Mac n cheese!!! Our waiter Andrew was awesome!
I didn't appreciate the 30 minute wait time after my reservation time. Not to mention the fact that I checked in 20 minutes prior to my reservation.
Great service. Very friendly staff. Amazing food.
It was our first time there. Food was very good and no real complaints about service. Not sure about hand sanitizing between serving and taking plates away between customers but server was very nice.
My order took over an hour to receive. When my meal arrived, it wasn’t as I ordered. I requested my steaks and filet mignon done medium and they arrived well done. The plate was scalding hot to the touch as if it were placed under a heat lamp or possibly microwaved. Instead of returning the meal, I ate it because I was starving. The restaurant did comp off my meal and offered a desert on the house. Overall just disappointed with how my order got mishandled. I would consider going back for indoor dining vs the outdoor.
Always a great choice. We had a great table outside, with a nice view of the harbor. The crab cake was fantastic, and my steak was cooked perfectly. Will definitely come again.
If enjoying a great meal and perfectly cooked steaks with a magnificent view of the Bay at sunset is your idea of a great time, then this is the place for you. The Shanghai calamari is among the best we've ever had. The filet mignon was uber-thick and cooked exactly to our specifications. And the banana bread pudding is tops - not made with banana bread, but with brioche and thick hunks of bananas, topped with vanilla ice cream and lots of caramel sauce. Ask for a big spoon.
Solid service, great food.
We had an awesome date night at Del Friscos. Service is top notch. The food was amazing! The 45 day dry aged ribeye melted in my mouth and was seasoned perfectly. The Chilean Sea Bass was so decadent. The drinks were fabulous. Definitely want to go back.
Excellent birthday experience. Great food on the rooftop. And Tyler our waiter was perfect.
Everything is good except for a little imperfection of the steak. The plate was hot but the steak was below warm. You can park at Bric for $9 if you get a parking coupon from the restaurant on your way out.
A little windy for outside dinning , but it is also bay front and heat lamps where provided
We live in down town SD and dine there often - Our waiter was outstanding! ! Very attentive ! Thank you!
I was very disappointed in the quality of the food! I had the filet and lobster combination and the steak was very tough and for a filet it should have been very tender. For an expensive restaurant, there are much better in San Diego and I would not go back again.
The waygu was delicious as was the filet with truffle butter. Their butter cake was good but their chocolate mousse was too thick and was more like a pudding. Overall the meal was good. The service was EXCELLENT.
Awesome food and ambiance. For a restaurant of this caliber, they were understaffed during our visit. It’s been better before. Food and venue is amazing.
Dinner to celebrate 50th birthday. The noise from the workout class next door was distracting (girl on microphone yelling exercise instructions). Was hoping to have a more quiet/pleasant atmosphere with background music.
Didn't realize that truffle butter was going to cost $14. A courtesy reminder that extra cost would be incurred would have been appreciated.
Food was excellent. Good server. Just a bit too noisy.
