This is our second time visiting Deckman’s. We make the drive from Long Beach CA. It’s well worth the drive. Beautiful place, great food and ambience. Love it.
Food was good but obvious that the plates sat a little before the main meat was plated so the meat was warm but the vegetables were cold. Overall the food was tasty. Wine by the glass is limited. Great setting!
Deckman's is an absolute gem! We had an amazing time here and the food was fantastic. El Mogor Winery is right next door and a must go. Farm to table and almost everything is grown and harvested on the ranch.
Fantastic food, everything was delicious! But we went at 730pm at night and it was freezing (beginning of March) so cold we couldn’t really enjoy our dinner fully. Staff was great and so was atmosphere if you like a lively setting.
Great food and experience. The best chicken I've tasted. Everything is very fresh and delicious. Restaurant is lovely at night with all the lights on and the bright moon. Weather though, was really cold and restaurant is open. If you go this time of the year, bring a cozy and warm jacket. Awesome gesture from them was to bring us a blanket. Thanks for everything!
So funky, but so good. This is my second visit to this very causual outpost, that produces outstanding food from the outdoor kitchen grills. Flavorful and innovative best describe what will appear before you, as you dine here. Dress warm, and you will enjoy this beautiful environment imencely.
Lovely but it was SO cold and all seating was outside. The food never stayed warm so it was hard to tell what was good.
Lovely experience, delicious food!
This was my second time to Deckmans and my first time doing the Chefs multi-course menu. It was all fabulous. Lovely fresh oysters on the half shell, delicious quail, flank steak grilled to perfection on open wood grills, and dessert. They do not offer a wine pairing which I think is needed but we ordered bottles of wine to please all 8 of us and had plenty of white and red local wines to pair with our meal. We all agreed after checking out the offerings on the outside kitchen that we were coming back for one of those big steaks they were grilling. You will be pleased with Deckmans food and service.
Great food and service. Plus, one of the best bathrooms I've ever experienced.
Perfect romantic spot with superb food. A++
Maybe I was crazy to go to a barbecue place as a vegetarian, but it was a treat for my husband. Everything is cooked over an open fire, and the seasonal veggies were INCREDIBLE. Very cool spot with a relaxed vibe, although expect a lot of smoke.
No me encanto.
Great Meal, will go back every time we travel to the Valle.
Everything was excellent. My only comment is the smoke from the grill can be a bit overwhelming.
Nice food, but, we were seated in a very smoky area, which detracted from our evening. We regret not asking for a different table.
BRING YOUR OWN BOTTLE OF WINE.
Food is excellent. Service was really, really nice and charming. Wine list was disappointing- They had 5 wines by the glass and were out of two of them. That being said, we still had some nice rose BTG. Their bottle list is really short too, I think under 12, but they have a cheap corkage policy. Definitely recommended, but we were just surprised a restaurant in wine country offers so little wine.
Great ambiance, the location was right off the highway and easy to find. My only complaints are the lack of heaters (we went during winter) and that the waiter kept complaining that the bottle that I had ordered for my table was his personal bottle because they had ran out of that particular blend but that he would sacrifice his personal bottle for us; the comments made it a bit uncomfortable at first but we got over it later. Everything else was great. THE FOOD (order the rib eye MEDIUM, you'll thank me later) was a.w.e.s.o.m.e. and the wine list was small but had a good selection. The food presentation was beautiful and quasi gourmet. The food is overpriced for the area, marketed for people who earn dollars (for my wife and I we paid about $175 USD which is moderately high for a dinner for two in Mexico. I paid half that at another great restaurant near there for four people.) Overall, the food is great, I wont lie, the property is beautiful, the prices are hefty but are worth it. Do bring a large jacket during cold weather.
It was a fantastic meal. One of my top five ever!
Really one of the best meals out there. Surprisingly good, considering the fact that paved roads are still mythological creatures. Local, thoughtful, seasonal fare prepared in an outdoor kitchen that... what, closes in the rain? Love it. This Angelino was here 3 times in the last 6 months and will be back again soon.
Beyond words, simply one of the most creative dining experiences in my life. Beautiful use of light, fire and open air. The food was incredible — rib eye, lobster and asparagus we loved. Cruz wine left a little to be desired but the food, staff (and mezcal) were great.
Wonderful meal.! All four of us thought the food was delicious and beautifully and well prepared. The service was super and the location and view are lovely. This is a special restaurant.
The food was delicious, we tried almost half of the dishes on the menu, every single one was unique and delicious. The ambiance and view are breathtaking; the only problem was the smoke during our dinner; the chef cooks on an open grill which makes the food taste delicious but unfortunately it smokes the whole seating area, our eyes burned and cried. Other than the smoke, it is truly award winning cuisine.
Amazing meal. All cooked outside over wood fire. A very special place in Baja Wine Country.
Good food, quite pricey.....but the bathrooms are way too far away....especially at night!
It would have been perfect but the wind blew smoke in our faces all night to the point we had tears running down our faces. Also several dishes were out including chicken, which three of us tried to order. Please let people know upon receipt of the menu.
