Our family is original from Tequila, Jalisco, best known as being the birthplace of the drink that bears its name, “tequila”. Our passion for this industry starts with Don Jose Antonio Cuervo, the founder of the Tequila. Nowadays 220 years after, part of the family still produces tequila, but Jorge Cuervo took after his father Don Malaquías Cuervo Rosales who expertise in the culinary arts inspired by his ancestor's deep knowledge of the authentic Mexican recipes.
This was our first time at Cuervo's House and it was a very nice experience. Our guest wanted an "authentic Mexican dinner" while visiting us and Cuervo's didn't disappoint. The menu is full of interesting and authentic dishes, starting with our friends Mexican Caprese salad (made with local cheese and specially prepared cactus instead of tomato) and my wife's Salpicón as a broth based soup - we were off to a great start. The owner and his wife were very present and give us information on the history of the restaurant as well as insight into the menu options. As you would expect with a name like Cuervo's, the bar was tequila oriented, with some interesting fresh squeezed juice concoctions that were well received but I had a nice Mexican red wine with dinner as well. The restaurant is small so on a busy night (our evening wasn't), you would need a reservation - enjoy!
Wonderful experience, extremely helpful staff, excellent food.
The food was exceptional and the family friendly service even better.
This is a family operation and we loved the experience. The food was really good and the service was nice. We enjoyed it all and hope to return soon!
*Authentic Mexican Food Lovers Dream* From the first moment we were warmly greeted by the owners and it felt not like a restaurant but invited to the home of friends to share a meal. Our whole family young to grandparent enjoyed the delicious Mexican cuisine...family recipes handed through the generations. A few highlights included the most flavorful mole sauce we have ever tasted, a remarkable salad of local cheese and cactus, and tacos that rival any. A very special recipe from Jalisco gave new meaning to what a beef stew should be. The food is beautifully presented and the conversation with the family about food, tequila and Mexico made an already great meal unforgettable. We have enjoyed many excellent restaurants in Los Cabos over the years but this is now our favorite.
Awesome dinner experience and wonderful stories from the owner!
Amazing food, service & ambiance! A true gem in San Jose del Cabo! I highly recommend Cuervo’s House!
