Courtyard Bar & Kitchen
Lovely food upstairs had drinks in garden music way too loud difficult to have conversation had to shout
Lovely food and even better staff looking forward to next visit
Even though it’s a new restaurant and bar it didn’t feel like it as the food and service was excellent.
I would defend recommend to my family and friends, particularly as it’s also close to the central bars etc...
Lovely start to a Saturday out at the theatre. Food was excellent-we ate upstairs in the restaurant-too much to finish and we were very well looked after. Highly recommend.
Great priced pre theatre menu, reasonably priced drinks, great view from table.
Portion sizes really good, the cheeseboard in particular!
The air conditioning was a bit chilly, but I suppose that is a sit subjective to where your sat!
We’ll visit again.
Overall my experience was very good and in particular I would like to mention Holly our waitress who was absolutely lovely. She had a great personality and knew the menu to give advice if asked. The experience wasn't excellent due to the lack of dessert options available, which for a Friday teatime we all though a little short-sighted. Several times we had to change our option due to it running out. We did eventually settle on an option that thankfully was available and delicious. I would recommend Courtyard and would indeed visit myself again.
Standard of food has gone from very good to very poor. Chips used to be real potato & chunky but are now like cheap quality frozen and the batter on the cod used to be thin & very crispy (delicious) but now is thick & soggy. Rest of menu is uninteresting, particularly the starters, teryaki salmon was mono-flavoured.
Definitley would not visit again, it spoiled a good night at the theatre.
Great location to grab a meal before a show at the Royal Court theatre.
I booked this pre-theatre for my parents. They said the food was fabulous and the staff really friendly and nothing was too much trouble
We ofter attend most of the Shows at the Royal Court, this was the first time We visited the The Courtyard, Excellent Food and service, Will be going back for another visit.
Worse meal ever. Smoked salmon starter was swimming in oil and the lamb koftas soaked in vinegar was disgusting
Good quick enjoyable pre Théâtre meal.
We had the basil and feta salad and the teriyaki salmon with noodles.
Amazing place, evening out with the girlfriend, decided to go here before the theatre, booked a table in advance (recommended to do so) food was amazing, very well presented and great value.
I was a bit disappointed as I had expected better standards than those provided.
Litter outside the entrance, the music provided was good but far too loud in a restaurant environment.
The meal was ok except for the cous-cous which was in solid clumps.
The ambience felt like a canteen more than a restaurant.
To be fair, my wife enjoyed her salmon and noodle dish.
Great food the staff made us feel welcome will be back
We ordered a curry, which was far too much in proportion. The chicken was cut into very large dry chunks and the curry, though tasty, was more of a paste. No sour cream or yoghurt added. The rice had been cooked in unsalted water. Three of us could not eat much of this dish. We were there for over two hours and the restaurant was virtually deserted. Only two other couples there at that time and they left as soon as they had eaten. The service was good and sympathetic but one wonders why the venue was so unpopular? I had the impression that perhaps there was no chef overlooking what could have been a tasty meal.
Convenient for a meal before the theatre. Timing was excellent and I was beforehand to make sure we had enough time to eat before the show. Two of us had the cod which was cooked just right, although the fries must have been the last of the batch. The other person dining with us had the chicken and they found that rather dry. Having said that, it was very busy.
Really enjoy the courtyard, booked it because we were watching a show at the royal court so was really handy, the service was really quick & pleasant, the food was different from other places I've been too, very tasty & good value, liked the feel of the place with the big windows was almost like you were outside, overall a really enjoyable experience
Been a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it but disappointed this time. Menu & food was not as good and very limited menu choices and service was not as good this time. We arrived 1 3/4 hour before theatre for pre theatre menu and never had time for 3 courses.
The location and ambiance though is still brilliant!
Very helpful staff - good food before a show
Arrived a little late missed train. Phoned ahead. Staff friendly they were aware we were going the theatre. Served swiftly and meal arrived promptly. Chicken pasanda was lovely as usual. Chicken strips not as tender but overall meal and service was great. Made the theatre had a great time.
I enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere in the courtyard very much. When I first sat down though, I could feel the air conditioning right down my back but after moving tables to the centre I was fine. I would certainly visit here again.
great place , food fab, staff superb. Have already booked next meal
Great pre-theatre meal, great food, great service, good music and atmosphere. Loved it!
Very enjoyable relaxing lunch. Great view of St George’s Hall, not too busy, friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely atmosphere - relaxed but dining staff very attentive. Great menu, maybe slightly limited on the pre-theatre deal, would like to see a full menu and able to order two courses. Gorgeous basil feta salad though, stunning presentation.
Staff were brill - only critique was in the bar downstairs, girl on her own making a few intricate cocktails so we had to wait a while. Didn't put us off though, definitely return.
I would recommend the restaurant, however, I would not recommend the bar, as the music is too loud. You cannot chat to each other or order a drink as you cannot hear each other. Next time, I'll be wearing ear defenders, to protect my hearing.
It has been a while since we last visited & did not realise the change in menu from tapas. The staff are really friendly & professional. Had a problem with the meal - a hair in the batter of the fish. It was dealt with speedily & without fuss. We feel the new' menu does not cater for all tastes, but overall enjoyed our meal & will return.
Arrived a little before our reservation, but no problem at all.
Staff were helpful and attentive, one of whom gave us expert information about a local building
Food was varied and delicious, served nice and hot on a warm plate.
Partner had a salmon teriyaki and I the lamb koftas which was a great decision receiving a good portion served on a warm flatbread with hummus and couscous
Deserts were good sized too with the cheese platter more than enough
Good value too, 3 courses with a couple of drinks each for well under £60 and all perfectly timed to get to see the show next door with plenty of time to spare.
Absolutely fabulous service. The staff surprised my aunt by singing happy birthday too!
Starters were fine. The mains disappointing one person sent hers back. Some said the chips were cold. The salmon was very similar meal to the starter. Not good.
Staff very apologetic abd did reduce the bill. No rush to go back.
I was wary of stairs as I had a recent injury and had a crutch. The young Barman came directly over offering assistance, how courteous!
Enjoyed the food . Staff were good . There wasn’t many people in the restaurant as it was midday so not a lot of ambiance.
We were attending a show at the Royal Court Studio so booked a Pre Theatre Meal.
There was a good choice and it is good value at £16 for two courses.
We all enjoyed our meals and would definitely return.
Service was good too although we had to ask where our drinks were a couple of times.
Exceeded all our expectations. Staff were very courteous, helpful and thoroughly efficient.
Loved the view from the dining area. The bar was crazy busy. Food was lovely but not piping hot, wasn't an issue with the meals we ordered though. Slight issue with the overcharging on the bill but Great cocktails.
First time dining here and certainly won’t be our last. Staff are very welcoming, food is delicious although we only had the pre show menu to choose from (even though we weren’t seeing a show) service was a little slow (waited a while for drinks and ketchup) but to be fair was quite busy due to show on next door at Royal Court. Will definitely return.
first visit and it wont be our last.myself and my wife were attending the royal court for a show and decided to try the courtyard rather than go into town.
we found the whole experiance to be superb from the staff who were attentive and pleasant in attending us.
Then the food which was as good as many top restaurants we have visited in the past.
I would highly recommend the Courtyard to anyone visiting Liverpool for a visit.
Went prior to the theatre , no a la carte menu , restricted in choice, Salmon was eatable and noddles coated in thick slimy sauce. Wouldnt go again
Had booked there was no option to book seat by window ...was a vacant table by window asked to sit there got told no that window table booked dont know how as no option to book that . Also got brought wrong drink .
