It was wonderful. Thank you.
Service was wonderful and food was delicious. Duck carnitas are the best I’ve ever had. My husband had huevos rancheros and said they were awesome (he’s not easy to surprise as we’re Mexican and he has tried many of them).
Food is good. Service not that good. Personal feels a bit snob
Arctic char tostada was terrible, ate less than half of it. Duck carnitas were good but overpriced at $47. Service wasn’t great, hostess didn’t ask to take coats. Lunch for two cost $170, terrible value for quality and experience. Could have gone to Joel Robuchon for that money. Unlikely to return.
Bougie Mexican, but in a good way. Third time here, and this time with my wife who also loved it. Very pricey but worth it for the flavor, the experience, and the decadence. Must have the duck carnitas and the husk meringue with the carajillo for dessert.
Tremendous food with brilliant young servers
We thought the food was very creative but overpriced. Don’t be talked into too many plates. The duck to share is outstanding as is the corn meringue.
Great twist on traditional Mexican food. Service was superb.
Redefines what real and good Mexican food can be! Worth their place in 50's World's Best List.
Not much diversity in extended red wine list... only Rioja or Bordeaux
Energetic, tasty, super experience.
The food was absolutely incredible- worth every cent
I have dined at Cosme multiple times and have had all the menu items there. The food does get me going back each time especially the dessert but the cocktails and wine selection are all good too.
Last time I was there, it was amazing. This time it was amazingly pedestrian. Host with an accent was right on the edge of rude. There was a delay in sitting. The food was boring, lacked taste, and was overpriced. Service was ok. overall, it was truly disappointing.
Small plate, tapas style dining. Food plated beautifully. Service was amazing.
Very creative dishes with beautiful presentation. Their signature Duck Carnitas was exceptional, but the waiter’s recommendation to have at least 3-4 other dishes between two people on top of the duck was far too much food, and the other dishes were more beautiful to the eye than the mouth. Excellent service overall though. Fantastic selection of Mezcal. only real turn off was Michelin star pricing for a restaurant that doesn’t have a star... hard to accept the bill. Would go back for the sexy ambience, Mezcal, and the duck, but only the duck.
Great food but portions are small and it's pricey
The food was outstanding, as usual, and the table service was efficient, warm and friendly. We waited a long time for our reserved table, though, which seems to be a chronic problem at this restaurant.
Exquisite food. Just un-real. The team is amazing - attentive, knowledgeable, passionate, world-class
Nothing out of the ordinary. Except the price.
The servers were attentive and the food was delicious!
Overpriced confusing incomprehensible menu.
Don’t get the 30 dollars mole.
Actually don’t go
If u want Mexican go to empellon
The hostess was rude. We had reservations for 4 people but I knew beforehand that one person in my party was not going to make it for another 30 min, so got her order that afternoon and we has told her we would start without her. After advising the host, she relunctantly seated the 3 that were there and told us we had to get up in 2 hours. I have never been asked to finish eating by a certain time by any other restaurant in the city. As for the food, the uni tostados is one piece the size of your palm for $22 so we had to order 2 for 4 of us. The uni was not fresh and gross. Everything else was mediocre, not impressive and way too overpriced.
I invited a couple of people I do business with to lunch and Cosme completely impressed them, with the quality and creativeness of the cuisine, the attentiveness of the staff, the atmosphere of the room - it could not have been a better place to have a long lunch and conversation.
The restaurant is very loud. It was difficult to hear the person sitting right next to me. Portions are terribly small for the money
We had a drink at the bar first. The bar stools and chairs at the high tops are way too high and uncomfortable (especially for women, I'm 5'4 and was wearing 4" heels and getting on and off of them is a challenge). Service was pretty good but our server tried way too hard to sell the $90+ duck, which neither of us had any interest in whatsoever (I don't eat meat) rather than hearing what dishes we were asking about. Otherwise, a wonderful experience. Kampachi ceviche was delicious, sea bass in banana leaves was a star. Wasn't crazy about the broccoli rabe dish. Squash dish was very good.
High costs, avg taste, tiny portions .
just another “high end” Mexican with some creative and highly instagramable food that’s not very tasty
Excellent service and friendly.
Food inventive and delicious
Space is beautiful yet unpretentious
This place lived up to the hype. Delish cocktails, inventive dishes, and DO NOT MISS the duck carnitas.
I took my niece and her husband for dinner and they thought it was one of the best meals of their lives. The food is spectacular, the service friendly and informative, the room very comfortable.
Excellent food.Very different and creative combination of flavors.Waiter was helpful with suggestions just wish the pace of service was slowed down
Felt a bit rushed and courses brought out too quickly
From the food to the atmosphere and the wait staff everything’s Ny was excellent. We had a great time
Disclaimer: This was my first time dining at the restaurant. We had Sunday brunch.
My husband is Mexican and we eat casual Mexican food all the time so I was really hoping to change it up a bit and try innovative Mexican cuisine.
The pluses: The restaurant is beautiful, modern and spacious. The servers were attentive and nice. The plates were beautiful. The bar area looked fun and inviting.
Minuses: It was also a special occasion, and when I made the reservations I included in the reservations that it was an anniversary. When we arrived, I didn't get a "happy anniversary"or a question such as "is this a special occasion?" -- nothin'.
When you pay that much money for brunch (about $125 for two people -- two entrees, two appetizers and one coffee + tip) you are expecting an experience. It's not just about the food, but you want to experience something interesting; something memorable. I did not get that.
We got two appetizers-- ceviche and some kind of avocado dish (if you're hungry you should order more) and though the food was fresh and clean, I found the flavors to be about average. It wasn't something I'd say is memorable.
I ordered the branzino as my main dish, and you can make fish tacos with it. Though the herbs on the fish was refreshing, sauce was delicious, and the fish was fresh, the portion was fairly small and again, not as memorable as I'd like it to be.
Also, the server got my friend's order wrong. I waited until she got her food, so as not to be rude. By the time her food arrived, my food was room temperature. My friend ended up not liking the food and it looked unappetizing, so she ordered something else. She didn't like the flavors in that dish and barely ate it.
With no dessert, no extra coffee and no alcoholic drinks, I think $125 is rather steep.
I wasn't wowed, but give credit to areas such as ambiance, freshness of the food, and friendly staff. However, I will not be coming back.
I rarely write reviews, but this is noteworthy. The food was very memorable, service was outstanding and the ambiance was what one would expect from a fine dining experience in NYC.
Excellent food, Real Mexican with a touch of modernism
I had been there a few times but not for dinner .
I had been there for lunch and brunch and I thought it was great
Dinner was not great , the menu was blah. And. The selection was limited .
Always a great experience.
I am a huge fan of Chef Enrique Olvera. His research and focus on Mexican food culture and tradition is quite remarkable. So I was very much looking forward to my evening at Cosme. Unfortunately my experience was mediocre at best. The ambience and service was what you would expect from any NYC restaurant; cordial, concise and clean. There is something to be said for the use of fresh, quality ingredients which Cosme does do, but there is just nothing special about this dining experience. I never mind paying a premium when my palate is challenged, however Cosme's menu is bland, unadventurous and overpriced.
Wonderful food and a no-pressure setting where one dine at one's own pace without feeling rushed.
