Bartender Eric was the absolute best! Great service and great conversation! Food was excellent and so were the drinks. Great local selection of local spirits and wine! So worth the two hour trip for us!
We had a great brunch with our family of 6. They moved us to bigger table when we asked with no problem.
Food was very good and our server was too!
I had heard very mixed reviews about Vopperwood Tavern but don’t hesitate and just come try it and review it yourself. I came here with a group of my girlfriends for first time and let me tell you everyone was pleased with the food and how great the burgers, steak salad and mushroom Crustini were and what can I say about the Mac and cheese delicious! Brought my son the following day for brunch and just as amazed the French toast Yum, wasn’t crazy about the duck eggs but that’s just preference. The country breakfast was delicious. Third time came in with a dear friend as we like trying new places and well an experience I wanted to share with him. I had the mussels and he ordered the chili which I enjoyed both. Dinner took a little longer than expected and well our waitress was more than accommodating in letting us know the kitchen was a little behind. Yes it did take a little while but when our food came out we were helped to a couple extra sides from the chef and an apology from the manager. Can’t tell you enough how great the food is. The service hasn’t been any less than great attentive and and making sure waters are filled and drinks are coming. Great restaurant great place for bigger parties and excellent ambiance and service. Definitely will recomend and will be coming again! Thank you to the manager and waitress for making our experience fulfilling and although a bit of a wait for making it awesome! Was very appreciated!
Went here for breakfast. The fresh, high quality food is a relatively good value. Roasted potatoes, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce are really tasty. Not too salty. The free spiced popcorn is not necessary. I’d rather have a bread option with dishes like the delicious duck confit hash. Otherwise the service and decor - rustic casual - are Pleasant. Please add gluten free baked goods!!
Thought sides came with the meal! Nope just a peice of meat on a plate and very pricy! Waiter was terrible we had to go find him to pay him at end. 260$ for four people we all got a peice of meat on a plate. Won't return. Waste of money.
Had a very pleasant lunch at Copperwood. Food was delicious. Will go back.
Food was mixed reviews all around. My son loved his burger, my husband was not impressed with the pulled pork sandwich, and my Shrimp & Grits was good, but I've had better. While the place was only half full (strange for Sunday Brunch period), service was not great and they were clearly understaffed for the shift. I would try again for the regular menu, to see if we get a different experience.
I had such a great dining experience. Their outside seating is wonderful and the food is AMAZING!!!
My wife and I frequently dine at restaurants all over the DC area and we’re low key and understand that restaurants have off nights. Tonight it was a matter of very poor service, plain and simple, at Copperwood Tavern. It was our first time there. Our server served the tables on either side of us right away despite the fact we ordered simple cocktails and an appetizer, which was completely forgotten. I had to remind our server after 30 minutes of waiting. 15 minutes after that I had to ask to put in our dinner order. He was very indifferent. The manager said he would remove our appetizer b/c of the long wait but it still showed up on our bill. The server did pick up our 2nd round of cocktails & brought my wife a complimentary glass of wine. Still, I would rather have had decent service than having to have free drinks as a result of particularly bad service. We won’t return b/c there are so many other good restaurants in LoCo where the service is so much better, esp. for the price. First impressions!
Great spot for brunch!
Great service and great food! Brunch is fantastic! Will be back!
We went for the Labor Day Brunch. Scotched Egg was delicious and first time in a long time my eggs (steak and eggs) were cooked to perfection. I had the Ryes and Shine drink -- delicious, but way over priced. My spousal unit had the biscuits and gravy -- she said it was very good. She had the $12 pear bellini, it was good, but tiny. Great service from our waiter. The food was reasonably priced and tasty. Overall, it was ok, but we are going back to our live jazz brunch in DC with great drink deals.
Went for Brunch on Monday (Labor Day). Service was pretty good, though nothing phenomenal. We were celebrating a birthday and no one offered a “happy birthday” or anything of that nature. Food was ok. My dad (whose birthday we were celebrating) hated his omelette and sent it back for Sausage and gravy. It took an exceptionally long time for them to check and everyone had finished eating by the time the second plate came out (also was charged us for the make up meal, which was a little surprising to me). My husband and I have been here for dinner a couple times and apparently this is a dinner only kind of place, as brunch was less than stellar.
Very pleasant experience. Great service and food.
Food was amazing, as always. The service was very disappointing, which is not normal. The service and food are always wonderful. There was just mistake after mistake during this visit. Hopefully this is an isolated incident not to be repeated.
Great food and excellent service! Highly recommend!
I was hoping that we would have a great meal. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I ordered the baked oyster and they were tasteless and there was so much Panko crumbs on the oysters that you had to scrap it all off. The fried green tomatoes were just as bad. The tomatoes were so hard it was difficult to cut them and these were tasteless as well. Plus the tomatoes were laying on top of a dollop of mayo! Don’t waste your time and money. Will not be back.
Food was amazing! The handcrafted cocktails were so good, we had to order additional rounds. :-)
The environment was awesome, it felt really peaceful. We sat outside in a corner so it wasn't noisy, and the weather was perfect. The food was good, nothing's out of this world. I felt it had limited options and the the prices didn't translate to the food you were getting. On top of that the prices for the cocktails and beers were similar to stadium prices, way too high. The only way i would go back if I was invited to go.
Eating dinner with my wife and Lil Man.
Hi Copperwood Tavern!
I wanted to share my comments about the great experience I had during my last two visits.
Being raised by farmers and hunters back in Poland made my dining at Copperwood Tavern feel like home and like childhood. I was super happy to see traditional items on the menu such as venison and rabbit which are hard to find in the area. My favorite thing about Copperwwod Tavern is that the restaurant partners with local farms and breweries. Not only does this guarantee fresh and organic products but also helps out local farmers. My Polish ancestors who farmed and hunted would be so happy to see this happening and being this popular and I am so proud that I am here to experience this and tell my family back in Poland all about this. I hope Copperwood will be an inspiration to them.
Another really great thing was the decor of the restaurant. The ambiance is always as important as the food itself for the guest experience, as I have learned during my hospitality and tourism studies at college. I absolutely loved all the pictures, the tables, the bar area and the fireplace mantel with the deer head on top. It looked very much like a traditional Polish hunting restaurant would look like back at home. Even the bathroom kept the decor standards!
Last but not least, the service was great as well. Our waitress, Amanda, was very nice and helpful explaining everything to my husband and giving him suggestions for local beers.
I would just like to thank you for proving my husband and I with a wonderful experience and I am really looking forward to dine there again!
Have a great rest of your day!
Everybody was friendly at Copperwood. The service, food and atmosphere was outstanding. We will definitely return as it was a fabulous dining experience. The manager on duty, Clyde Glines, went out of his way to be welcoming and accommodating!! Thank You!
Very nice atmosphere. It was very good for lunch but it seems to me it is even better for after work and dinner.
It was ok, nothing special, seemed like another chain restaurant to me. I asked if they could make a Sidecar and the said they could so I ordered one and had to send it back, it was not even close, then ordered a extra dry Bombay Sapphire Martini and it had a strange taste (hard to screw up a extra dry martini with essentially one ingredient). To make matters worse, each drinks too 20-30 minutes to arrive. I was done with appetizers before the martini arrived. Saturday at 8pm was not that busy.
My spaghetti squash dinner was just ok, but bland.
I didn't hate it, but recommend vegetarians and anyone that likes classic cocktails go some place else.
If you like eating ducks and bunnies, this may be the place for you, but I'm out.
Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant nor will I return. Food was the biggest problem, atmosphere was the second. Service was ok. I had the steak salad with luke warm steak and many pieces were difficult to chew. Guest had the pork chop and it was just ok. Floors were dirty, table was dirty and wet. We will not be back.
Farm to Market makes me think clean and healthy. Instead beautiful produce and fresh fish under too rich sauces that masked the food flavors. The restaurant is very loud and I don’t handle noise well and said we needed to be on the patio. I immediately walked to the outside and the hostess rushed over to tell me - not nicely- I had to wait. I couldn’t stand the noise and went anyway
The service and food were good here but we thought it was a little pricey for what you were getting.
The service was great. I had an undercooked fish dish and the server took care of it. The manager acknowledge it as well as the cook who came out and apologized.
A big disappointment! Prices were high ($8.00 for a beer) and the atmosphere was awful. I felt like I was in a big hall. Super noisy.
Took some friends to One Loudoun . Copperwood was a great surprise. Great drink selection, yummy cornbread muffins, fresh fish, and delectable dessert. Also wonderful service. The ambience is really the only thing lacking, it does not have a cozy tavern feel.
Food was great. Lots of choices. Brussel sprouts and the smoked gouda mashed potatoes were fantastic.
Great atmosphere and service. However, food was average. Would return for evening ambiance and maybe a drink before night's end, but would not recommend for a full event.
Update: Ashley, the GM was kind enough to reach out to us to make this right. I really appreciate her efforts. Big bonus points for having upper management who is willing to stay customer focused and proactive.
This was one of the most bizarre experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. We were there for my wife's birthday with another couple. The boys ordered the dry aged rib eye medium rare. Both of them came out medium well; it was mostly grey and tasted dry. We politely asked the server, who was great, to take them back. The manager returned with the SAME plates and tried to tell us it was a "lighting problem". The outdoor lighting was causing it to look overdone and would not waste such a good steak. He overlooked the fact that it actually tasted well done. He then went on to say that they probed the steaks in the kitchen and they were 140 deg. What!! 140 is medium well in any book. He refused to replace our steaks and never even asked if we wanted something else. So we enjoyed the rest of our meals, watching our wives eat, staring at our overdone meat which went uneaten. We were not charged but that made little difference. We had to go across the street to Burgers, Bourbon, and Beer for a meal (Which was great).
The food was good, it was just expensive. You don’t get a good bang for your buck either.
Everything was delicious!!! Great food and great service!
Food was excellent, but service was poor. Waiter seemed confused, appeared infrequently, and mixed up our order with another patron's. Thus, it took about 45 minutes to get fed. However, as mentioned, the food was really great. The manager was very apologetic about the mix-up, so hopefully this is not a typical experience. I would give them another chance.
Food was terrible and for the price it was completely not worth it.
We loved the idea of locally sourced ingredients and the menu looked great, but execution was poor. It looked like a home cook’s attempt at restaurant dishes. Service was great and the cocktails were creative and delicious, but the place was empty on a Friday night for good reason.
We got a last-minute reservation for 2 on what should have been a very busy Saturday night due to the beautiful weather. It's possibly because of the location on the quiet end of One Loudoun, but also possibly because of the food. Our server was very good and attentive and even asked for my honest opinion on the soup I didn't finish. Truth is, we really wanted to love this place but agreed at the end of the meal that we probably won't go back. The cucumber soup had nice flavor but was very lumpy and unappealing. The pork chops were ordered medium and came out well-done. The peach chutney lacked flavor and was really mushy. The Brussels sprouts side was good and the highlight of the meal. We sat outside, which was very nice. Perhaps this is a better place to go for drinks. Cost of the meal for 2 with tip was about $100.
The food was very good and the service was superb. We went with most of our waiter’s recommendations and his choices did not disappoint.
